中学体验日

“小升初”是每个六年级学生即将面临的重大转变和跨越,如何让学生们做好“小升初”的无缝衔接是我们关注的重点。上周五,深圳诺德双语学校开展了中学体验日活动,给在校学生家庭举办了线上中学课程说明会,以及在校的初中课程体验课。

在学校的精心设计下,六年级同学们在当天按照初中的时间表,深度体验了初中的学习与生活。他们不仅提前接触到了初中班主任秦老师,还参加了历史、数学、物理、综合理科、语文、生物及音乐的初中课堂。


原本在校园活动里颇为熟悉的中学老师,在今天与同学们有了更紧密的联系;原本还没有机会去到的实验楼,在今天终于可以尝尝鲜,还可以穿上实验服做实验,这让孩子们倍感兴奋!

中学课程说明会

MIDDLE SCHOOL PARENT INFORMATION SESSION


小初衔接期同时也是孩子的青春期,再加上孩子学科科目及学业难度增加,不少家长表示将面临双倍烦恼。为此,通过线上中学课程说明会,我们的中外方校长为家长们解读了初中以及未来升学规划方面的具体安排,为这个过渡阶段学生可能会产生的学习、心理等方面的不适应做好了充分的准备,为家长们排忧解难。


初中课程将在国家课程的基础上,采用跨学科的主题学习方法来培养学生的全面探究性学习能力。我们的英语授课语言比例将提升至70%,通过开展校内外活动、学科竞赛等,培养学生们的自我意识、人际沟通能力和协作能力,为登上更大的平台做好准备。

The path from primary to middle school learning is an important transition and a big step that G6 students are about to face. At NAS Shenzhen, it is important to make this transition as seamless as possible. Therefore, our grade six students took part in the Middle School Experience Day held last Friday.

MIDDLE SCHOOL EXPERIENCE DAY


Under the meticulous design of the school, our grade six students had a deep experience of the study and life of the middle school. They not only got to know Mrs Qin, their future grade seven homeroom teacher, but also participated in middle school classes in history, mathematics, physics, integrated science, Chinese, biology, and music. These allowed for the middle school teachers to develop closer connection with their future pupils.

MIDDLE SCHOOL PARENT INFORMATION SESSION


This transition period is a part of each child’s adolescence. Coupled with the increase in the specialist subjects and academic difficulty, many parents say that the students might face additional difficulties. To this end, through the online Middle School PIS, our national and international principals explained the specific learning arrangements of the middle school and the future study planning, to prepare for the learning and psychological discomfort that students may have during this transition period.


Our middle school curriculum will adopt an interdisciplinary thematic learning method to cultivate students' comprehensive inquiry learning ability based on the national curriculum. The proportion of our teaching language in English will be increased to 70%. Students' self-awareness, interpersonal communication skills, and collaboration skills will be cultivated by conducting internal and external activities, and subject competitions.
