主文书要打磨修改成什么样子，才能“出道”呢？
首先，经过头脑风暴之后，选择一个适合自己，能够动笔写故事的题目尤为重要。
有很多同学跟我们文书老师反映，
“我的这个文书主题会不会太普通/敏感了？”
“我觉得我故事叙述的太平淡了，审核官会不会没有兴趣看啊？”
“我写到后面感觉没什么可以说的了，写不下去！”
......
其实，同学们也不必担心，因为主文书就是要展现个人故事。
从故事里看见你的变化，你的成长，就是一篇完美的文书了。
同时，也不用太过于纠结主文书是否一定要和自己所申的相关专业挂钩，因为你的活动列表已经可以充分展现你的专业能力，当然，如果你想用主文书作为能力展现的补充也是可以的。
那么接下来我们就来看看主文书的题目，主文书一共有七个题目，内容基本上由性格特点，与他人的关系，长时间坚持的事情，一次难忘的经历这四个部分组成，来展现你的个人特色，而题目一就是大家选的最多的题目之一。
下面我们就根据题目一来分析一下主文书究竟该怎么写？
我们先来看一下题目：
Question
Some students have a background,identity, interest,or talent that is so meaningful they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, then please share your story.
关键词是background（背景），identity（身份），interest（兴趣），talent（天赋），这四个方面涵盖了很多可以写的话题，最好是能展现其他申请材料里没有的部分，而你又想让招生官知道的。
比如，我想申请商科，但是我对电影也很感兴趣，那么我就可以在主文书里说一个关于电影的小故事，展现我不光对商科感兴趣，并且对艺术也有所涉猎。
接下来我们就以一位被纽约大学录取的Y同学的主文书重点分析一下主文书的四大部分。
反思/总结
REFLECTION/CONCLUSION
这位同学的主文书的故事是通过一次去乡村的机会，感受到了大自然的魅力和淳朴的民风，改变了之前的偏见，并且未来想让更多人领略自然风光的美丽。
写文书的时候一定要记住“show, not tell”,
所以在写完一段之后一定要加上自己的感想或感受，才能体现出这个故事如何影响到了你。
The essay should begin at the height of the conflict, in the most exciting and engrossing part of the story.
截取出故事中最吸引人的一个片段或者镜头放到第一段去写，引起读者的兴趣。
第一段开头以自己给别人讲故事的场景，让读者身临其境，并且用生动的语言描绘出观众的动作，从侧面反映出故事的精彩。最后加上自己当时的心境，或者感情，烘托出这件事情对你来说很重要，或者你对其很感兴趣。
（具体的动作）I stood at the front of the bright classroom, telling my second-grade classmates the story of Little Red Riding Hood. （场景描写）The warm sunshine shone through the window.（别人的反应）looked at me anxiously；Everyone held their breath, waiting for the next scene；the expecting eyes and slightly-agape mouths on their captivated faces.（我的感受）my heart filled with pride.
In this paragraph, give context to the opening anecdote so that the readers are better grounded in your story and it should show the significance of the anecdote.
结束了第一段，第二段就是交代一下上下文的背景。
为什么会在班里当众讲故事呢？
为什么同学都愿意听你讲故事呢？
是什么原因？
原因1：In primary school, every time I spoke to others, my breath tensed and my face turned red. Words froze in my mouth; I was too nervous to let them out. (主观：自己容易紧张害羞，不敢开口说话。)
原因2：my teacher asked me to share a story with my classmates every day. (客观：老师希望我放得开一点，大方一点，给我出了一招——“讲故事”。)
原因3：I’d make small changes, adding my opinions as I spoke. (想让故事变得更有趣，加上了自己的观点。)
结果：When I noticed people nodding their heads in agreement or entranced by my storylines, my confidence gradually developed. A passion for storytelling blossomed inside me. (当别人认同我的时候，我的自信心上升了，并且对讲故事充满了热情。)
Now return to the core of narrative. Explain the conflict and demonstrate your reaction to it.
这一段主要叙述了“讲故事”这个兴趣是怎么发展的，是怎么从书上的故事，演变成为荧幕上的故事。
制作电影能够让观众更直观的明白“我”的故事，并且通过“我”的努力，成功的让无聊的故事“起死回生”。

Through my stories, I hope to communicate my own perspectives; expressing how I view the world. ……Listeners can have their own mental images, but films show audiences the scene exactly as the storyteller envisions.

Film emerged as a clear way to voice my subtle emotions and opinions.

To improve it, I suggested switching the timeline through editing: moving the end of the story to the beginning to add suspense.

The same sense of pride swelled in me as when I first told the story of Little Red. I could change a dull, plain story into an engaging one.
It’s essential to show you’ve contemplated on this subject. You want to make it clear that this is something you care deeply about and have thought a lot about. Make sure that you are specific and that you elaborate on your thoughts.
“讲故事”对“我”来说不是简简单单的说故事，更是提升自信，展示自己的机会，“我”希望通过这种方式，传达“我”的看法和观点。
Storytelling is not a hobby to me, but an essential part of my life. It helped me develop my confidence in primary school and share my unique identity in middle school. Sharing stories made me unafraid to speak out.（讲故事的意义）
I want to tell stories of Chinese familial relationships to share our value of filial piety….（对未来的规划）
One day, I believe the world will see my stories on the silver screen.（总结升华）
一篇合格的文书就这样“生产”出来啦~
