From public school to international schools, I joined BIBS in the 20th year of my education career. Under the international culture and education concepts, I wish to share and devote myself to the growing and development of our students.

34 years as an educator, I’m still in love with what I do. When I walk in the campus and classroom, witness how our young talents grow up and go to their dream universities, I feel deeply proud and grateful. Today we will share with you from a strategic point of view the BIBS Modern International Bilingual Education.

I believe BIBS is chosen for two main reasons:

International, and bilingual.

I’m Canadian, and my wife comes from HK, with our lovely daughter born in Turkey. This multi-cultural background sets the tongue of our education expectations: bilingual foundation and global mindset. Being the leading pioneer of international bilingual education in China, BIBS has the concept we share. This is why we have chosen BIBS for our daughter, and I believe there are many parents here who share our view.

From my previous working experience, I believe a school can only become successful if it adheres to its core values.

Yes, this is our school! The BIBS international bilingual education mode has integrated high-quality teaching concepts and methods from both China and the west, with a focus on developing all students to self-motivated learners and problem solvers. We encourage students to understand and treasure their own culture roots, while be able to comprehend and collaborate with world citizens. As the new school year starts, we have reached a common ground on this to better support our students, teachers and parents.

With all the science and technology developments in the past 50 years, there have been many new fields in the education world. All new philosophies and concepts have one common goal, which is to help students realize that learning is their own responsibility. Before the new semester began, our entire faculty spent a lot of time studying these concepts. In the new school year, we will proceed with our core values and concepts, and ensure the holistic development of all students from the courses, activities, classroom teaching, language and culture aspects, and offers them with more opportunities to experience independent learning.

First of all, we combine courses with activities. BIBS has been introducing more academic, art, sports and cultural activities to the campus and integrate them with our international bilingual courses, and use them as platforms for our students to practice, demonstrate and become creative.

Secondly, we integrate the Chinese and western teaching concepts. We pay attention to cooperative teaching, and ensure the integrating of China National Education Program and IB curriculum. Chinese and foreign teacher collectively prepare for their classes, and all inquiry unites will be conducted by both Chinese and foreign teachers.

Finally, is the fusion of language and culture. The bilingual courses at BIBS do not stay at language learning level. We create a soak-in learning environment for our students to gain a deeper understanding and strong communication skills with the blended China and western cultural backgrounds.
