Welcome back to the first ICD Newsletter of the semester!  We are all so excited to let you know what the children have been over the past couple of months at the kindergarten!

The children have returned from their summer holidays and have got straight down to business as they continue their educational journey!

In K3E the children have been learning the ins and outs of their bodies and what makes them themselves.

Through exploring facial features to similarities with our parents combined with our own personal identity the children have explored themselves to their core, resulting in an adventure into our internal organs seeing how our bodies work on the inside.

The children’s interest in their internal organs has been fascinating, and they have also learned how to keep their body healthy in the process.

In K3E with take our phonics seriously spending time everyday to review and learn new sounds.  The children’s determination is really beginning to pay off as they are now blending sounds and reading on their own!  Even through listening to sounds, the children are able to form letters and they are really beginning to reap the rewards for all of their efforts! 

K2C have recently been learning about body organs and the shape of these organs. We have been using play dough and our diagram of the human body to make vital body organs. As you can see some of these have turned out amazing.

K2C have been learning about different limbs of the body and how they can move. We practiced the same movement with our bodies and saw if we can bend the same. We did this using sparkly pipe cleaners and pictures of the children’s faces. What a fun activity!
