Recently, our Reception homeroom teacher Ms. Suzanne gave a lecture about EYFS, which gave an in-depth introduction to the growth paths of children at this stage. 


近日,我们的中班班主任Suzanne老师做了一场关于英国早期教育体系的讲座,深入介绍了这个阶段孩子的成长路径。

Ms. Suzanne Bonney was educated at one of the finest Grammar Schools in Ireland, she then relocated to England where she received a B.A in Art and Design with a Specific Early Year Teaching Degree at King Alfred College Winchester.

After leaving college she held early years teaching positions in several schools of excellence in London.

Suzanne has over 20 years’ experience in education and is a specialist in the Early Years Foundation Stage. She was an early adopter of the “learn through play method”; and has seen hundreds of children thrive with this curriculum.  

“I believe a quality early years education is essential to build a solid foundation; which will help a child develop the self-esteem, confidence and the independence needed to give them the best start on their educational journey. Being part of their learning journey and watching the child develop is very rewarding and a role I relish”.

What is the Early Years Foundation Stage

The EYFS initially introduced in the United Kingdom holds international acclaim. The framework is based on the principle that recognizes children as unique individuals and competent learners. It is delivered through a well-planned play-based approach to learning and development.

There are seven areas of learning and development that shape our foundation program at BIS, all areas of learning are important and interconnected. Each unique child is supported to achieve and develop as they continue on their own personal learning journey.


EYFS的教育中包含七大学习和发展领域,这些课程共同作用塑造我们的幼儿,所有的领域都是非常重要且互相链接的,支持每一位幼儿探索独一无二的、且持续一生的学习之旅。



Our prime areas: Personal, social, and emotional development, physical development, communication and language development. And the specific area: Literacy, mathematics, understanding the world, and expressive art and design.


七大领域中分为:主要领域,包含个人、社会、情感发展,体能发展,沟通交流和语言发展。还有具体的方面,具体方面包含读写能力,数学,了解世界,有表现力的艺术和设计。


Personal, Social and Emotional Development

个人,社会和情感发展



Personal, social and emotional development: To develop a positive sense of themselves and others, to form positive relationships and develop respect for others, to develop social skills and learn how to manage their feeling, to understand appropriate behavior in groups, and to have confidence in their own ability.


个人、社会、和情感发展包含以下几个方面:发展对自我和他人的积极态度,形成积极的人际关系并且发展对他人的尊重,发展社交技能和学习如何管理自己的情绪,了解在集体中的合适行为,并且对自己的能力有充分的信心。


Physical Development 

体格发展


Physical development: Moving and handling skill,  to be active and interactive, to develop co-ordination, control and movement, to understand the importance of physical activity, to make healthy choices in health and self care.


体能发展包含以下几个方面:主动和交互式的运动和支配身体的行动,发展协调控制和运动的能力,理解体能活动的重要性,保持健康和自我关注,在饮食方面做出健康的选择。


Communication & Language Development

沟通交流和语言发展



Communication and language development: To experience a rich language environment, to develop confidence and skills in expressing themselves, to speak and listen in a range of situations.


交流和语言的发展包含以下几个方面: 在拥有丰富的语言教学环境中进行学习,发展幼儿的自信心以及表达能力,让幼儿们在不同的场景中进行听说的运用。


Literacy 读写能力


Literacy: To link sounds and letters and to begin to read and write, to ignite their interest in a wide range of reading materials.


读写能力包含能够形成声音和字母的连接,并开始进行读和写的练习和运用,点燃幼儿们广泛的阅读和兴趣。为了实现以上目标,我们会学习自然拼读,故事和韵律儿歌,精细运动游戏,角色扮演和了解小小世界等内容。


Mathematics 数学




Mathematics: To develop and improve their skills in counting, understanding and using numbers, to calculate simple addition and subtraction problems, to describe shapes, spaces, and measures.


数学方面包含发展并提高数数,数感以及使用数字的能力, 计算简单的加减法,可以描述形状、空间和度量。

Understanding the world: To make sense of their physical world in their community, to explore, observe and find out about people, places, technology and the environment around them.


理解世界包含两个方面,第一个,对物质世界和所生活的社区有所感知和理解。第二,去探索、观察和了解不同的人、地方,技术和环境。


Expressive Arts & Design 

有表现力的艺术和设计


Expressive arts and design: To explore and play with wide range of medias and materials, to have opportunities and encouragement to share their thoughts, ideas and feeling, to have a wide range of experiences and activities in art, music, movement, dance, role-play, and design and technology.


在有表现力的艺术和设计的课程当中,我们会让孩子探索和接触各种各样的媒体和材料,提供机会和鼓励,分享他们的思想、见解和感受,并且提供一系列的活动,让幼儿在艺术、音乐、运动、舞蹈、角色扮演、设计和技术当中发挥他们的所长。



Our Chinese curriculum mirrors the learning going on throughout the foundation stage classrooms,complementing, enhancing and deepening the children's topic and vocabulary knowledge.


在沟通和语言发展的模块当中,我们英伦学校还提供充分的中文课程的学习,我们的中文课程与EYFS中的教学紧密联系,鼓励、加强和加深幼儿在英语当中学习到的话题、单词和知识,支持每一位独特的幼儿去发展个性化的学习之旅。

Nursery will be introduced to phase one of the Letters And Sounds, phonics program, this focuses on building the children's listening skill in order to prepare them for reading in the future. A range of fun activities are used to teach skills such as rhyming, alliteration, aural blending and segmentation.

Reception will be introduced to phase two of the Letters And Sounds program where they will learn through a range of resources games and activities, including interactive whiteboard. By the end of term three, they will know 42 of the main sounds, phonings, and graphys used in the English language, and they will be using this knowledge in their reading and writing. They will also learn to sight, read, and write a range of tricky words that cannot be decoded using prior knowledge.


我们的幼儿园中班主要是学习第二阶段的自然拼读的内容,我们老师会通过互动白板等丰富资源的活动,教会孩子。在第三学期结束的时候,孩子们会学会42种主要的自然拼读的发音,他们将会运用这些技巧在阅读和写作的过程当中还会学习到如何读出无法被规则解码的不规则的单词的发音。

To support our EAL learners, we use our own EAL Vocabulary Support Document and the Cambridge young learners Word Bank when planning and learning in preparation for the Cambridge Primary Curriculum in Year one.

We are committed to providing excellence in early childhood education by creating a stimulating and a creative environment where children can become engaged and effective learners.

Each day is well-organized by our experienced teachers who provide indoor and outdoor environments that excite and stimulate our cubs’ senses and encourage them to develop their self-confidence and independence. Through educational fun activities and established routines, our curriculum topics are delivered.

Ours EYFS Days

We teach appropriate vocabulary and provide fun, stimulating activities based around these topics, celebrations and festivals. Our weekly scheme is balanced with independent exploration, small group activities, quiet, reflective times, and whole class activities, such as art, music, movement, physical development, and Chinese studies with our specialist teachers.


我们一日的活动包含独立自主的个人性的活动、几个孩子一起的小组活动、还有反思时间和全班性的活动,比如像艺术、音乐、体能发展活动和中文课程,这些课程都会由我们专业的副科老师来进行教授。



Throughout the year, our teachers will provide suitable challenging learning experiences to ensure that each cub is working towards the 17 early learning goals, outlined by the British Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. As you can see, we love going on school trips and having visiting guests.


一整年中我们的老师提供合适的丰富的挑战和体验性的活动给幼儿,保证我们的教学满足17种早期教育学习目标,与EYFS的教学大纲一致,比如我们非常喜欢安排郊游和小小访客等活动。

At BIS, our aim is for our little lion cubs to feel love, safe and secure, which gives them the confidence to explore, develop, and stretch their imaginations, building a passion for knowledge and learning, to take on with them through their primary journey here at BIS.
