多元文化体验之旅

As a school, we believe that a field trip is one of the best tools that we can use to provide every student with real-world experiences. On November 3rd, our Y4 and Y5 students went a field trip to Lingnan Impression Park, where the students experienced both Lingnan culture and western culture.

作为一个学校,我们始终坚信实践出真知。郊游则是为学生提供体验生活与世界的最佳途径之一。11月3日,天河爱莎学校四年级和五年级学生前往岭南印象园开展了一次多元文化体验之旅,享受了一场岭南文化与西方文化的饕餮盛宴。

Lingnan Culture 岭南文化

Our trip began with a Chinese cultural experience. We witnessed some outstanding Lion Dancing and Chinese traditional dancing. Lion dance is a form of traditional dance in Chinese culture and other Asian countries in which performers mimic a lion's movements in a lion costume to bring good luck and fortune.

我们的郊游以精彩的舞狮表演和中国传统舞蹈表演为开端,体验多彩的中国文化。舞狮是中国和其他亚洲国家的一种传统舞蹈形式,表演者身着狮子服装模仿狮子的动作,寓意好运。


After lunch, we explored some examples of ancient Chinese architecture that have been recreated within the Lingnan Impression Park. This is a typical Lingnan traditional architectural cluster. Folk houses, which exudes the charm of Lingnan, were built along the river. Walking in the Park, we felt we were in old Guangzhou. This trip also allowed us to access the content that we have learnt in our Chinese lessons and engage in that content in a variety of ways. This allowed us to directly experience Chinese cultures and learn it holistically.

午餐后,我们参观了在岭南印象园内的中国古代建筑。岭南印象园是典型的岭南传统风格建筑群落。民居依水而建,处处散发着岭南水乡的韵味。在公园里漫步,我们仿佛置身于古老的广州城。也让学生们能够拓展中文课堂上所学的内容,并以不同的方式参与其中,让学生更深入、更全面地了解博大精深的中国文化。

Western Culture 西方文化

Finally, we explored the wonderful ceramic pottery of the world-famous Pablo Picasso. We explored the exhibition individually first to make our own deductions then watched a video highlighting Picasso's creative process. Some of the students took notes of what they had seen and felt there.

最后,我们参观了世界著名的巴勃罗·毕加索(Pablo Picasso)的陶瓷展。我们先对展览进行了独自的探索,然后观看了一段毕加索创作过程的视频。部分学生还记下了他们的所见所感。

Before the field trip, our Y4 and Y5 students have appreciated and studied Picasso’ s art works in their Art lessons. On this visit, our objective was to engage students in the creative process and encourage them to explore and experiment in a continual cycle of art learning and responding. Back at school, the students’ experiences will be used to focus and stimulate further inquiry in their unit of study.

在郊游前,我们Y4和Y5的学生们在艺术课上鉴赏和学习了毕加索的艺术作品。旨在通过这次参观,让学生们对艺术创作的过程有更进一步的了解,从而形成一个艺术学习与反思的连续循环探索。


When students leave the classroom, they see the connections between what is happening at school and in the ‘real-world’. Each trip that students participate in contributes to their understanding of different cultures of the world.

学生们走出课室,打破边界。他们懂得了学校里所学的知识与“现实世界”之间的联系。他们的每一次郊游经历都将有助于他们更加理解世界多元的文化。

I enjoyed looking at Picasso's ceramics, they had intricate patterns. I also loved the Lion Dancing!

I enjoyed seeing the animals Picasso's created on his ceramics. They were so cute!
