Today the topic of my speech is < Be reflective>

及时反思是IB的十大培养目标之一，IB对于“及时反思”的描述是：“学习者对自己的学习和经历做出缜密的思考。为了有助于自己的学习和个人发展他们能够评估和了解自己的长处和局限性。”

Being Reflective is one of the IB Learner Profiles. It is described as follows: IB learners give thoughtful consideration to their own learning and experience. They are able to assess and understand their strengths and limitations in order to support their learning and personal development.

古人云“一日三省”，这里的“省”就是反思的意思。所谓反思，简单地说就是指思考过去的事情，从中总结经验教训。及时反思，能让人认识自我、完善自我，不断进步。

There is an old Chinese saying that we should introspect ourselves three times every day. Introspect also means reflection. It tells us we can learn from the past. We can understand and improve ourselves to make success by reflecting.

这个学期已经过去一半，这周是我们反思个人成长和学习过程的一个最佳时机。我们检验和探索我们所学到的内容，无论是个人的还是学术上的，我们反思优势领域和设定的目标，以便我们能够更好地前进。

Half of this semester has passed ，it is a perfect time to reflect on our personal development and learning journey. Reflection is our skill to examine and explore what we have learned, personally and academically, our areas of strengths, and setting goals so we can improve.

在学习中是这样反思的：在学科总结性评估前，我认真复习准备，并结合老师的意见积极反思不足之处，不断去修正，保持着积极的学习态度，最后取得了令自己满意的成绩。

This is how I reflect in my study ，Before the academic assessment, I carefully reviewed and prepared, combined with the teacher's opinions, actively reflected on the deficiencies, and constantly corrected them, maintaining a positive learning attitude, and finally achieved satisfactory results.

Henry是Reflective的人，是因为他会先设定目标，再去实现这个目标。英语课上，当他遇到困难，他会先反思自己有没有认真听、认真思考，然后再去寻求老师帮助。他懂得及时调整学习状态，尽最大的努力保持专注，并且参与到各项学习任务。

I am a Reflective person because I will set a goal first, and then achieve it. In English class, when I met a problem, I would first reflect on whether I had listened and thought about it carefully, after which I would ask the teacher for help. I know how to adjust my learning state in time and try my best to stay focused as well as participate in various learning tasks.

IB的理念将及时反思视为一种价值属性。所以现在，我希望所有人（学生，老师和家长）在未来几天里花点时间反思自己。

The IB philosophy embraces reflection as a valued attribute. So, right now, I am asking all of you (students, staff, and parents) to take some time over the next few days to reflect.

我们应该如何自我反思呢？

1.找到一个安静舒适的地方

2.花30分钟时间。

3.问自己：我获得了什么知识？我获得了什么新的技能？我的什么技能需要被改进？我有没有和我信任的人谈过我的感受？我有没有对什么感到担心，我如何克服这种担心的感觉？我想为下半学期制定什么目标？你可以把答案都写在一本笔记本。

4. 经常查看你的目标进度，并及时反思（每天或每周）

Steps we should take to reflect:

1. Find a comfy and quiet space

2. Take 30 minutes of quiet time

3. Ask yourself: What knowledge have I gained? What skills have I acquired? What skills would I like to improve on? Did I talk about my feelings with someone I trusted? What am I afraid of and how can I conquer my fear? What goals would I like to set for the second half of the semester? You can write down your answers in a notebook.

4. Check in on your goals and reflect often (daily or weekly)

思考回顾个人行为——肯定积极行为——找到存在问题——解决问题，这种模式每天、每周不断地重复，日积月累，你会发现自己的进步有多惊人。所以，让我们都花时间来自我反思一下吧！

When you take the time to reflect, daily, weekly, you will notice you are more aware of your abilities, strengths, and areas of improvement. This will help you succeed as a student, worker, parent, and human being. So let’s all take the time to reflect!
