In May 2022 we celebrated our 5th annual Book Week at ISA Tianhe! This was a special occasion when we took time to celebrate our love of all things literary. During the week the students took part in a variety of fun and educational activities to promote their love of books, stories and reading.

2022年5月，爱莎天河学校第五届读书周活动在校园内顺利开展。这对于我们来说是一年一度的特别时光，我们一起徜徉在书海，庆祝我们对阅读和文学的热爱。在这一周里，学生们参加了一系列有趣且富含教育意义的活动。学生们在活动中不断地发展和提高对书籍、故事和阅读的喜爱。

Our theme for Book Week this year was 'Connection'. We connected our students to places beyond their imagination through fantasy and fiction books; we connected students to each other by pairing older and younger students together; and we connected students to their creativity during our art projects.

今年读书周活动的主题是“连接”。我们通过幻想和小说引领学生抵达他们意想以外的地方和事物；通过将高年级和低年级的学生组成伙伴，将学生彼此之间连接起来；在艺术项目中，我们通过作品创作将学生与他们的创造力联系起来。

BOOKMARK COMPETITION

书签设计大赛

In the run up to Book Week Miss Yoyo our librarian organized the Bookmark competition. During library sessions the students created a bookmark, each class then got to vote for their favourite one. The winners got their drawing made into real bookmarks to share with friends and family. There was an amazing show of creative talent within all the classes.

在读书周前，我们的图书馆馆长Yoyo组织了一场书签设计大赛，为读书周活动进行预热。学生们根据他们自己的想象力创作了一个自己的书签，然后每个班级投票选出最受欢迎的书签。最终我们把获胜者的书签制作成一个真正的书签，学生们可以与朋友家人分享。在这过程中，孩子们都展现出了出色的创造才能。

We kicked off our week with the Book Fair where the students had an opportunity to shop for books to add to their collections at home. The students were supported in the shopping process: learning how to ask the shop keeper for prices, add the price totals in their head, pay for items using cash and count their change. Skills which can be undervalued in this time of WeChat pay!

我们以“书展”拉开了本次读书周活动的序幕，学生们可以在校园里购买自己喜欢的书籍，以增加他们的自己在家中的藏书量。同时，学生们在购买书籍的过程中也学习到了如何向店员询问价格、在自己的头脑中计算书籍的总价、用现金支付并计算自己还剩多少零钱。在这个线上支付十分发达的时代，这些技能可能已经被我们忽略和低估了。

The students had lots of fun in their buddy reading groups. Each EY class was paired with a PY class, the classes met together in the library and in their classrooms where the older student read books to their young friends, sharing their love of reading.

我们还开展了伙伴阅读活动，孩子们都从中获得了许多乐趣。每一个幼儿园的班级和小学班级组成伙伴。这些班级聚集在图书馆和课室，高年级学生为他们的幼儿园的小伙伴们读书，分享他们对阅读的热爱。

CHARACTER DAY

书中角色装扮日

A highlight of the week was our book character dress up day. The staff and students used their imagination to dress up as a beloved book character. The EY department had a special assembly and character parade, allowing students to share their costumes with their friends.

读书周最引人注目的活动莫过于是“书中角色装扮日”。学生和工作人员们都尽情发挥想象，把自己装扮成自己喜爱的书中角色，将他们对角色的理解诠释得淋漓尽致。教学部还举行了一次的集会和角色游行，让学生可以向他们的朋友展示自己的服装。

Another favourite of the week was the door decorating competition. Each class chose a book they enjoyed and made some amazing door decorations to liven up their classrooms. The PY students and teachers got a chance to vote for their favourite door decorations. The winning classes were…EY4C and Y2A, these classes celebrated with a delicious cake!

读书周中另一个最受学生欢迎的活动莫过于是“课室门装饰大赛”。每个班级都选择了一本他们喜欢的书籍，并对课室门进行了相应的装饰，让他们的教室变得更加生动。小学的学生和老师到访每一个课室并对其进行投票选出最受欢迎的课室门装饰。最终，获胜的班级分别是EY4C和Y2A，这两个班级分别获得了一个蛋糕以庆祝他们的胜利。
