As the summer heat dissipates, the golden days of autumn, which signify the harvest, are upon us. After a summer break, children, when you move up to class, whether for the first time or when you step into this campus again, it means that you have entered a new school year, and that growth is quietly coming.

夏日的暑气逐渐弥散，寓意收获的金秋时节正朝我们信步走来。经历了一个暑假的洗礼，孩子们，当升班的你们，无论是第一次，还是再度踏入这个校园的时刻，都意味着你们已经踏入了新的学年，也意味着成长，在悄然而至。

As you arrived with your parents on Orientation Day last Thursday and Friday to hear from the Headmaster and Heads of School, and to enter your new classroom, you were familiarised with your future teachers, the curriculum and all aspects of school life.

在上周四周五的迎新日，你们和父母一同到校，聆听总校长与各学部校长的演讲，进入新的班集体，相信你们已经提前对未来的教师、课程与校园生活的方方面面有了初步的熟悉。

At each sub-school welcome session, the Head of School, Mr Paul Bawden, met all families for the first time and expressed the school's expectations for all students in the new academic year:

而在各学部欢迎会上，校长Paul Bawden先生也首次与全体家庭见面，借由一番肺腑之言表达了新学年中，学校对全体学生的期望：

Many IB schools around the world share similarities in teaching and learning, but we want to create a school culture that is unique to ISA Science City, which requires a strong people to people connection and a sense of belonging for every student on campus. This is why we care about how each student feels in school and how they grow physically and mentally.

世界上许多的IB学校在教学中都有着相似的地方，但我们要打造属于爱莎科学城独有的校园文化，这就需要在校园中建立起人与人之间紧密的联系，令每一个学生都能对校园产生归属感。因此，我们关注每个学生在学校中的感受，关注学生身心成长的每一步。

The school culture is shaped by each and every member of the community. First and foremost, we should teach our students to respect every member of the school community, regardless of colour or cultural background - when this mutual respect takes root in everyone's heart, it is followed by trust in each other. Respect and trust, in turn, create a sense of pride, care and responsibility: students are proud to be part of the campus, to care about others, to care about the community, to care about what is happening on campus, and from this comes a sense of service and responsibility to contribute to the school community.

校风的塑造与团队中的每一位成员都息息相关。首先，我们应当教育学生，去尊重校园社区内的每一位成员，不论肤色与文化背景——当这种互敬之心在每个人心中扎根后，与之而来的是彼此间的信任。而尊重与信任之风，正如为大地带来菏泽的春雨，让自豪感、关爱之心与责任意识纷纷如雨后春笋般勃发：学生以身为校园的一份子为荣，关心同学、关心集体、关心校园动态，并从中产生为校园社区献力的服务与责任意识。

If the school culture is the messenger that gently helps the school to grow, then the aspiration of the school is the leader on the road. The school hopes that every student should have a 'Mental Map' in his or her mind, just as a golfer or basketball player has a clear picture of what is about to happen at every swing and shot, or a painter has a clear picture of what is about to happen at every brush stroke, so students should have a clear perception and goal for each step forward.

如果说，优良的校风是温柔助推成长的使者，那么学校的愿景与志向，便是前行道路上的领路人，如明灯般指引着前行的方向。学校希望，每个学生心中都应当拥有一幅“Mental Map 心理地图”，好比高尔夫球员、篮球运动员在每一个挥杆和投篮动作的瞬间，画家在每一次下笔的时刻，都在内心清晰地呈现即将发生事物的模样，学生也应该对前行的每一步有清晰的认知与目标。

As a school, we use different dimensions to measure the success of our students, heartily recognising and celebrating every step of their achievement, growth and improvement. Meanwhile, we hope that every student can remember the school aspiration, have the attitude and determination to pursue excellence, take responsibility for their own learning and become purposeful and committed learners.

作为学校，我们用不同维度去衡量学生的成功，由衷地认可、肯定学生成长的每一步，同时也希望每一个学生都能铭记学校愿景，拥有追求卓越的态度和决心，为自己的学习负责，成为有目标、有担当的学习者。

The opening day of the school year this Monday marked the beginning of a new chapter in the 2022-2023 academic year.

度过本周一的开学日，意味着我们正式开启了2022-2023学年的新篇章。

We have seen many young children in Early Years gradually overcome their 'separation anxiety' and take a brave step towards integrating into their new environment with the guidance of their teachers, and children who are already familiar with the school grounds take the initiative to extend a reassuring hand to their new arrivals and help them to adapt further to the group. In the Primary School, teachers help pupils to stabilise as quickly as possible, establish class rules, guide them from the outset to develop good study and school habits, gradually develop their sense of self-responsibility and improve their time management skills. In Secondary School, students quickly familiarise themselves with the new term timetable and quickly get stuck into their specialist courses in various subjects.

我们看到，幼儿园的许多幼龄的孩子，在教师的引导下，逐步克服“分离焦虑”，迈出勇敢地融入新环境的一步，已熟悉校园的孩子，主动向新到来的小伙伴伸出安抚的手，帮助他们进一步适应集体；在小学课堂上，教师帮助学生尽快稳定状态，制定班级规定，引导学生从一开始培养良好的学习与在校生活习惯，逐步培养学生自我责任感，提高他们的时间管理能力；而在中学，学生们很快便熟悉了新学期课程表，快速投入到各科专业课程的学习中。

We also saw that every student was neatly dressed in school uniform, approached their studies with a high level of energy, participated actively in outdoor activities and showed order and respect for their food as they collected and ate their meals... Each of these scenes will go down in the school year's memoirs as a valuable frame.

我们还看到，每个学生都穿着整齐划一的校服，以饱满的精神对待学习，积极参与户外活动，并在取餐、用餐过程中表现出井然的秩序以及对食物的尊重……这一幕幕，都将作为宝贵的每一帧，载入学校学年回忆录中。

This is the third academic year of the school and the first year since the school officially became a true IB World School, which carries the promise and expectation of the school for each and every student. Along with the scent of books, we believe that the potential that lies within your little bodies will be further explored in this new school year, becoming the stars that will light up your future journey and help you turn your dreams into reality. There will also be more new explorers joining us on this journey, and more new ways of learning and different stages for you to explore. A new voyage has begun, so hold on to the rudder and set off into the future!

这一学年，是学校成立的第三个学年，也是学校正式成为一所真正意义的IB世界学校后的首个学年，它承载着学校对每一位学生的承诺与期望。伴随着书卷的香气，相信蕴藏在你们小小身体内的无穷潜力，也将在这新的学年中得到进一步的挖掘，成为一颗颗照亮你们未来前行之路的星星，助力你们化梦想为现实。同时，在这段旅程中，一定会有越来越多新加入的“小探险家们”一起勇往直前，还有更多崭新的学习方法和绽放光彩的各色舞台，也等待着你们去感知、去探索。新航程已开启，快握紧手中的船舵，朝着未来出发吧！
