ECA is the answer.
You may be a little unfamiliar to ECA courses. Actually, it is the abbreviation of the ‘Extra Curriculum Activity’.
In simple terms, ECA is a set of extracurricular activities designed by the school to provide each student with humanistic care and well-being, as well as development beyond skills. Students can choose courses related to sports, arts, STEM, service projects and academically related activities.
These special courses will also be presented by the regular curriculum schedule. Students can have a deeper understanding of their favourite areas by enrolling in ECAs.

From Mondays to Thursdays, ASJ offers a wide range of courses from Grade 1 to Grade 11. This semester, the number of elective courses has been expanded to more than 180. This arrangement allows students to choose courses that suit their interests, needs and strengths.

What are the benefits of ECA?
As we all know, in addition to GPA, SAT, TOEFL/IELTS, school ranking and other conditions, the admissions officers attach great importance to "extracurricular activities" which reflect personalities.
When students' standardized grades and GPAs are as high as anyone else’s, rich extracurricular activities become the key to a successful application to the top universities.
ECA not only relaxes students but can help students try new things and make friends as well. While trying new things, students may gain a deeper understanding of what they like and don't like. It can be very helpful for students in choosing majors and courses in the future.
The ECA have different effects at different stages of development. For students at the beginning of primary school, ECA focuses on experience, the development of abilities and qualities, and the cultivation of interests. However, for students in junior high school or senior high school, ECA focuses on the development of the characters like persistence, and perseverance. By enrolling in suitable ECA courses, students can develop expertise in a certain field and establish lifelong hobbies.
ASJ ECA includes science and technology innovation, artistic innovation, physical activities, and other related courses.
The teamwork spirit, perseverance, optimism, time management ability, organization and communication ability, leadership, creativity and problem-solving ability, which are exercised by ECA, are of great help to students' study, growth and comprehensive development.
A successful ECA not only presents the students' unique or unknown qualities but shows admissions officers their time management skills as well. You can tell what kind of person a man is by what he spends his time on.
What are the features of ASJ ECA?
ECA is arranged from Mondays to Thursdays. Our ECA covers six divs: Sports, STEM Education, Art Education, Edification, Global Horizon and Exploration. Students can choose their favorite courses according to their own interests and specialities.

Whether you want to be a musician, a sportsman, a scientist or a cook, you can find related courses and achieve your dreams here.
The Art Education session includes painting, instruments, drama, folklore & aesthetics, and art & design. The charm of traditional Chinese culture will be revealed through classic drama, Chinese folk aesthetics, calligraphy and traditional Chinese painting and other courses. Moreover, ASJ invites professional painters and piano teachers to deliver classes with perfect learning experiences.
STEM courses, 3D printing, Lego, visual arts and other professional courses will lead students to experience the fun of science and enhance their creativities and scientific skills.
Then, the Exploration session covers art painting, GARland, and food culture. Students will fully exercise their practical ability in these classes. Moreover, Students will learn about the relevant knowledge of society through financial management and Model United Nations.

The chemistry competition, Future City, AMC Math Competition, EPA Competition, Chinese reading and writing, and IELTS training courses ensure students become knowledgeable in these fields.
Sports can not only bring students a strong body but give them a spirit of perseverance as well.
"Athletic talents" are one of the most favored recruiting groups for top universities in the United States. For example, Jeremy Lin was admitted to Harvard University because of his excellent basketball skills. Students with sports specialities usually account for more than 10 percent of the total number of freshmen admitted to Ivy League each year. They are also provided with athletic scholarships.

Sports has always been one of the education features of ASJ. ASJ has invited a football coach from Spain and a fitness coach from Italy and has set up a fitness club to help students to develop a healthy body and build a strong character. Sports can be highlighted when students apply to universities.
