OUTDOOR TIME


In the face of rapid technological development, our life is becoming more and more convenient, but children's access to nature is diminishing. In Tianhe, we encourage and provide children with opportunities to learn outdoors. Outdoor education combines the philosophy, theory, and practices of experiential and environmental education. Through outdoor learning, children are exposed to nature, learn about its plants and insects, and deepen their knowledge and understanding of nature. It also guides them to explore nature's beauty and helps them better understand its phenomena.

面对科技的飞速发展,生活变得越来越快捷,但孩子们接触大自然的机会在逐渐减少。在爱莎天河,我们利用红专厂得天独厚的自然条件为孩子们提供丰富的户外学习机会。户外教育是体验式教育和环境教育哲学、理论、实践的综合体。通过户外探究学习,孩子们可以更多地接触体验大自然,让抽象的知识和神奇的现象成为孩子们随处可见、可触摸的有趣课堂,并在课堂中引导他们探索自然的美。


In the morning, teachers led students out of the classroom for themed outdoor inquiry learning at the Redtory, minibeast searching, outdoor sketching, and garden observing, which enhanced students' interest in education and made fun in class.

周二清晨,老师带领学生们走出课室,在红专厂开展主题户外探究学习,寻找迷你昆虫、户外写生、观察植物……让孩子们亲近自然,在大自然中去发现,去创造。


Minibeast Searching

昆虫足迹



Recently, our Early Years students are learning about the IB transdisciplinary theme “How the World Works”, exploring the roles of  "mini beasts" (insects). Based on a list provided by the teachers, the Early Years children searched for insects outdoors. In the process, they were visually introduced to the types and characteristics of insects. The children observed the habitats where the insects were located, in the soil, water, and plants, which helped to develop their interest in the natural world.

近日,幼儿园的孩子们正在进行“世界是如何运转”的IB超学科主题学习,他们探究昆虫在自然界中的角色和作用。作为主题探究的引入,幼儿园的孩子们根据老师所提供的清单在户外寻找迷你昆虫的足迹。他们观察了昆虫的栖息地,在土壤、在水中、在植物上等。在过程中,他们不仅学习了关于昆虫的词汇,还直观地了解到了昆虫的种类及特征。


Outdoor Sketching

自然写生



To help the children experience nature's beauty, understand the ecosystem's richness, and enhance their creativity, the school organised a nature sketching. The students where they drew on paper the beauty of nature as they saw it. As IB's mission, what the students were given was not only a wealth of knowledge but also the development of an appreciation of aesthetics. Even when they see a leaf, they can appreciate the beauty of nature, inspiring students to keep exploring new things and thus become lifelong learners.

为了帮助孩子们感受大自然的美,了解丰富多彩的生态系统,提高他们的创造力,学校组织了小学的学生到户外进行自然写生,他们在纸上画下他们所看到的自然美色。如同国际文凭课程(IB)所赋予学生的不仅是丰厚的知识,还培养学生的审美鉴赏能力。即使是看到一片落叶,他们也能从中领悟到大自然的美好,激发学生不断地探究新鲜事物,从而成为终身学习者


Garden Observing

植物观察



In the ISA Tianhe Garden, each class has their own block of field. The children knew the power of natural growth by growing plants, observing the characteristics of plants, fruits, and vegetables. They explored the natural world and its laws with curiosity. When they encountered questions, they promptly asked their teachers. They saw the importance of a healthy diet, how and where the plants grow, and where they come from. After learning about the growth of plants, the children cared for our environment and loved our planet.

在爱莎天河花园里,每个班的学生都有一块属于自己班级的土地,孩子们在那里播种、浇水、观察植物和果蔬的特征,感受到自然生长的力量。他们带着好奇心去探究自然界以及自然规律。当他们遇到疑问时,及时向老师提问。他们看到日常所见到的植物和日常所食用果蔬是如何生长、从哪里来,以及健康饮食的重要性。在了解植物的生长后,孩子们更加的珍惜和爱护环境,热爱并理解大自然。
