2022年6月17日，广州暨大港澳子弟学校“庆祝香港特别行政区成立二十五周年庆典活动（三）——演讲友谊赛”成功举办。本次活动以“香港-我的东方明珠”与“我的家在中国”为主题，以“两文三语”的形式开展，采用粤港两地连线的方式，由我校与香港久负盛名的拔萃女书院共同举办。暨南大学外国语学院赵雯院长、拔萃女书院刘靳丽娟校长、广州暨大港澳子弟学校邓强光理事长、广州暨大港澳子弟学校郑景亮总校长等嘉宾与两校的同学和老师们共同见证了一场精彩的视听盛宴。

郑景亮总校长首先致开幕词，他表示值此香港回归祖国二十五周年的历史时刻，通过此次活动不仅能够让同学们感受到香港与祖国母亲的血脉相连，更能增强自己作为中华儿女的自豪感。同时他鼓励同学们不断增强自己“两文三语”的能力，要胸怀梦想、敢于担当、不断超越，立志为祖国的强盛和香港的长期繁荣稳定作出自己的贡献。

在演讲比赛环节，我校的骆恩慈同学和来自女拔萃的刘晓妍同学以“香港-我的东方明珠”为主题进行演讲。骆恩慈同学以歌曲《东方之珠》开篇，她带着大家回顾了香港曾经作为殖民地的历史及在中华民族实现伟大复兴中的历史作用。她认为，如今回到祖国母亲怀抱的香港将更加坚韧、更具发展潜力，她深情地表达了自己对香港回归二十五周年的喜悦和激动，她坚信，香港这颗东方明珠将永远绽放夺目的光彩。刘晓妍同学以新一代港人子女的视角阐述了她眼中的香港。她认为回归祖国后的香港，国际金融中心的地位得到了巩固，香港人的权益得到了保障，香港的经济繁荣、环境安定、教育国际化。在中国众多城市中，香港散发着独特的活力，充当着“超级联系人”的重要角色。她为自己成长在新时期的香港感到幸运，她也立下了未来为祖国服务的志向。

我校的王雨薇同学和来自女拔萃的李子蔚同学以“我的家在中国”为主题进行演讲。李子蔚同学以“家”的释义贯穿全文，以新冠疫情下中央全力支持香港抗击疫情的温暖事例为例子，表达了自己对祖国内地和香港的血浓于水的深刻感受。同时，她也阐述了她所看到的香港在国家十四五发展大局中所扮演的角色和发挥的作用。王雨薇同学在最后一位上场，她以历史为脉络，纵横交错，将中华五千年悠久的历史文化和祖国的大好河山、地域风情徐徐展开。接着，她以“杂交水稻之父”袁隆平、“西藏冒险王”王相军为例，赞扬了孕育在中华民族骨子里的倔强和自强不息的精神，她相信，守望相助的中华民族必将携手在崭新的发展大道上谱写新的篇章。

比赛结束后，拔萃女书院刘靳丽娟校长作总结讲话。她认为同学们只有真正地掌握“两文三语”的能力，才能在未来粤港澳大湾区的建设中把握更多的机遇、创造更大的成就。她鼓励同学们要勇于承担责任，培养无私助人、贡献国家的胸襟。她表示未来两校将持续举办更多校际活动，两校的学生将彼此砥砺、共同奋进前行。

最终，我校骆恩慈同学和拔萃女书院的刘晓妍同学获得“最佳选手”的荣誉称号，由赵雯院长和刘靳丽娟校长分别为两校获奖同学颁发了荣誉证书。

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, a friendly speech contest was held on 17 June 2022 to showcase the mastery of Putonghua, Cantonese and English by students from the Affiliated School of Jinan University for Hong Kong and Macao students (ASJ) in Guangzhou and Diocesan Girls’ School (DGS) in Hong Kong. The event took place simultaneously before a live audience at each school and an online one, thanks to the excellent connectivity between the two regions of China. The theme of the contest was “Hong Kong: My Pearl of the Orient” and “My Home is in China”. Gracing the occasion were Professor Zhao Wen, Dean of the College of Foreign Studies of JNU, Mrs. Stella Lau Kun Lai Kuen, SBS, JP, Headmistress of DGS, Mr. Lucas Deng, Executive Director of ASJ School Board, Mr. Cheng King Leung, Chief Principal of ASJ. 

In his opening speech, Mr. Cheng expressed how the collaboration for this event not only enabled the students to feel the connection between Hong Kong and the motherland, but also strengthened their pride as Chinese. He also encouraged students to enhance their bi-literate and tri-lingual abilities to contribute to  the peaceful reunification of the motherland and the long-term prosperity and stability of Hong Kong.

Luo Yan Chi (ASJ) and Lau Hiu Yin, Hilary (DGS) spoke on the theme of “Hong Kong: My Pearl of the Orient”. Miss Luo alluded to the lyrics of the song, “Pearl of the Orient”, and took the audience through the history of Hong Kong as a colony and its role in the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. She expressed her excitement on the Silver Jubilee of Hong Kong’s return to China and her belief that the Pearl of the Orient will always shine brightly. Miss Lau described her vision of Hong Kong from the perspective of a new generation marveling at how the trials and tribulations of the past have consolidated Hong Kong’s status as an international financial centre, with a prosperous economy, stable society and an internationally acclaimed education system. Nestled in a Chinese jewellery box with countless precious stones, Hong Kong exudes a unique incandescence. Fortunate to have grown up in the new era of Hong Kong, she has set her sights on serving her country in the future.

Wang Yuwei (ASJ) and Lee Tsz Wai, Gladys (DGS) spoke on the theme of “My Home is in China”. Miss Lee evoked the sense of “home” by showing how the central government’s full support to Hong Kong’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic exemplified what ‘being family’ meant. She also celebrated the sporting, economic and technological achievements of our nation. Inspired by 5,000 years of Chinese history and culture, and the beauty of the great rivers and mountains of the motherland, Miss Wang next took to the stage. She also referenced Yuan Longping, the Father of Hybrid Rice, and Wang Xiangjun, the Tibetan King of Adventurers, in praise of the indomitable spirit of the Chinese people. She believed that together we would write a new chapter on development.

Mrs. Stella Lau delivered her closing remarks in Putonghua, Cantonese and English to reinforce how important the mastery of the three languages is, especially in view of the opportunities the Greater Bay Area brings. She encouraged students to learn with gusto and contribute to our country selflessly. She also expressed the hope for more exchanges between the two schools so that students can build on each other’s strengths and move forward together.

At the prize presentation ceremony, Luo Yan Chi (ASJ) and Lau Hiu Yin, Hilary (DGS) were named “Best Speakers” and received their awards from Professor Zhao Wen and Mrs. Stella Lau respectively.
