The shield shape is not only consistent with the Chinese character homonym of “Hurston”, but also symbolizing the characters of gentleman and knights: distinct, independent, confident, brave and unmoved.

The main body of the shield consists of four sections, with profound and significant meaning:

The rainbow door tie on the bottom means “connection”: the connection with international resources, the connection between children and the global community, and the connection between family and kindergarten. IB is a shorten form of IBO（International Baccalaureate Organisation)

Known as “mature international quality education” the headquarters of IB is located in Geneva, Switzerland, and its curriculum and test center is in Cardiff, England.

被称为“成熟的国际化的素质教育”，总部设在瑞士日内瓦，课程与考试中心在英国卡地夫。

The IB absorbs the essence of teaching reforms in many countries around the world, and promotes creative ideas, multiculturalism, and multidisciplinary knowledge to keep cultivating the generalists of the 21st century.

国际文凭组织汲取世界多个国家的教改精华，推行创造性理念、多元文化、多学科知识，为培养21世纪的通才不懈努力。

With leading educational philosophy and unique curriculum structure, the IB program is drawing worldwide attentions, gradually covering all people in the world. Many reputed universities in North America and Europe are willing to accept IB students and almost all universities in the UK accept IB diplomas – IB students are also favored and encouraged by many world-class universities including Oxford and Cambridge.

Hurston Kindergarten was co-founded by the founders and Mr. Anderson, the former Academic principal of YCIS and Director of UK-based Vista Education. Mr. Anderson has long been acting teachers and administer at IB schools in different countries. He has accumulated experience of international education for more than 30 years and witnessed IB’s substantial help to hundreds of thousands of children around the world. To found a kindergarten fully integrating with IB teaching philosophy, education system and training methods together has always been a dream of Mr. Anderson. 

赫斯顿幼儿园由创始人和前上海耀中国际学校外方校长，英国本土Vista Education教育的学术总监安德森先生共同创办。安德森先生长期在不同国家IB学校从事教学管理，有超过30年的国际教育经验，见证了IB对世界各地数十万孩子的切实帮助；创办一所与IB教学理念、教育体系和培养方法全接轨的幼儿园，一直是安德森先生的事业梦想。

Three years ago, the founders of Hurston Kindergarten, started their trip to UK with their children. The trip allowed them to get in touch with IB curriculums –like looking up at a brilliant starry sky and standing on the firm earth; furthermore, they felt like seeing a friend when they first met the Hurston institution, a mature practitioner of IB curriculums originated from London, UK and established friendship with Mr. Anderson, who was in the UK at the time.

赫斯顿幼儿园创始人三年前带孩子展开英伦之旅。那次行程让二人深度接触IB课程仰望星空的神通和脚踏实地的稳健；他们更与英国伦敦IB课程的成熟实践者Hurston机构一见如故，并和当时身在英国的安德森先生缔结深厚渊源。

Based on his personal experience as parents of two kids, his empathy on the situation of Chinese children’s preschool education industry, and testimonies of IB’s charms, the founders made an consensus with Mr. Anderson: combining the essences of IB education with the science of preschool education to let more Chinese children  have a global future.  

基于自己身为两个孩子父母（家长）的切身体会和对中国孩子幼教处境设身处地的换位思考，以及对IB魅力的重复见证，创始人跟安德森先生一拍即合，决定将IB教育精华与幼教科学结合，让更多中国孩子“从小成为国际人”。

Three years later, through localized data research, world-wide resource integration, and exquisite, all-round professional cultivation, international vision, Hurston Kindergarten, a Chinese kindergarten using IB curriculum for early childhood practice with international vision, was born in Beijing, changing the current pattern of preschool education in China.

三年后，经过本土化数据调研，世界范围资源整合，以及精湛、全方位的专业修炼，国际化视野、采用IB课程进行幼教实践的中国幼儿园——赫斯顿幼儿园在首都北京应时而生，改变了中国幼教现有格局。
