Dear Parents,

亲爱的家长们:


While we work towards a move to learning in person at school, remote learning remains in place for a little while longer. This can be frustrating for children and some might now be finding it hard. Day-to-day life is still a bit different at the moment and it’s really important that you continue to have regular conversations with your child about how they might be feeling. 


在我们致力于营造条件,让孩子们进入校园进行学习的同时,线上教学还将持续一段时间。我们知道,线上教学对于部分孩子而言是一种挑战,也可能让孩子们感到吃力。因此,在孩子们回归校园生活之前,家长定期与孩子进行谈话,了解他们的心情尤其重要。


It is important to make sure your child knows that they can talk to you, and that they can reach out to their pastoral tutor or teachers should they want to. Where possible, help your children to keep in contact with their friends. Everyone is in the same boat and having other people to talk to is just as important for your children as it is for you. 


给孩子们提供支持的一个方面,是确保孩子们知道,他们可以向您倾诉,也可以向他们的导师或老师们寻求帮助。在可能的情况下,帮助您的孩子和他们的朋友保持联络。生活在这个特殊的时期,无论是大人还是孩子们,拥有倾诉对象是十分重要的。


Keeping active during this time is also essential. Whether it is a family walk or making sure your child is actively taking part in our Get Up & Get Active! sessions running three times each week – during break times.  


此外,保持运动也是必不可少的。您可以与您的孩子一起散步,或者鼓励他们参与到学校组织的每周三次的“一起动起来”的课间活动中,让他们与同学和老师们一起做运动。

 

Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE)

个人、社会以及健康教育 (PSHE)


In PSHE lessons this week our Year 6-9 students have been learning about the importance of taking care of their bodies and developing an understanding of the importance of healthy routines. In Year 10 and 11 students have been learning about how to deal with stress, particularly anxiety. Students explored coping mechanisms, and practical strategies for promoting good mental health, and discussed with our teachers who to reach out to for support should they need to.


通过本周的PSHE课堂,6年级至9年级的学生们学习了照顾好自己、拥有健康身体的重要性,也理解了养成良好生活习惯的重要之处。10年级和11年级的学生们则学习了如何有效地处理压力,尤其是由压力导致的焦虑。学生们探讨了形成良好心理健康的应对机制以及实用策略,并与老师们就他们应当向谁寻求帮助的问题进行了讨论。

 

Get Up & Get Active!

一起动起来!


In a bid to encourage a little more exercise as part of our students’ normal routine we have introduced two weekly exercise sessions with a focus on fitness, flexibility, concentration, and balance. Sessions will be led by our specialist Sports Science teachers, Mr Jones, and Mr Ghomashchian, and will take place on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday each week during the 20-minute breaktime. 

 

为了鼓励学生们在日常生活中多做一点运动,我们推出了每周三次的,以“健康、灵活性、专注力和平衡能力”为重点的课间运动。该活动由我们专业的体育科学老师Mr Jones和Mr Ghomashchian带领,于每周一、三、五的课间举行,每次活动时间为20分钟。


Sufficient time is always left at the end of the session for a quick comfort break and for students to ready themselves ahead of their next lesson. Students are encouraged to dress in comfortable sportswear, to actively take part, and to have a water bottle on hand.


老师在每次活动结束前,都会给学生们预留足够的时间进行放松和休息,让他们为下一节课做好准备。参与运动时,我们希望学生穿着舒适的运动服并备好一瓶水。
