The academic performance is always and absolutely the key point to Lucton since the School has founded. We set high academic expectation of students not only by teaching and learning, but also by inspiring their independent leaning skills for their students life and beyond. As a full boarding school, students at Lucton have the benefit of all on-site educational facilities, and they can study both within the classroom and without. Students aim high and the record of academic success is proof of this.
In addition to the termly and yearly examinations, students at Lucton are actively encouraged to take part in various academic competitions. It enables students go beyond the syllabus, and promotes independent learning, extension work, and global perspective. Students enjoy the whole process whether they get the amazing prizes or have a valuable experience.

As a British style school, Lucton follows its parent school in UK, providing IGCSE and A Level Programmes. The syllabuses develop a deep understanding of subjects and independent thinking skills, and students can enjoy a broad curriculum and select their own preferred combination of subjects. The qualifications help students progress to the next stage of their education, and are recognized by leading universities worldwide.
As the approved examination centres, Lucton can officially administer all the required IGCSE and A Level examinations on behalf of these three boards: Cambridge Assessment International Examinations，OxfordAQA，Pearson Edexcel.
Cambridge Assessment International Examinations，剑桥大学国际考评部隶属于剑桥大学考评院，是剑桥大学的直属部门，全球最大的为5-19周岁学生提供国际资格证书的考试机构。剑桥大学国际考评部旨在帮助学生为今后的人生做好准备，培养他们求知的好奇心和终生学习的热情，使学生具备在中小学、大学及人生中设立和实现各自目标所需的技能和知识。

Cambridge Assessment International Education is an organization that is part of the University of Cambridge, and is the world's largest provider of international education programmes and qualifications for 5-19 year olds. Cambridge IGCSE examination sessions occur twice a year, in June and November. The International AS & A Level examination series twice a year, in June and November.

Drawing on over 100 years of exams experience, OxfordAQA is meticulous about how the qualifications are developed, and emphasis the application of knowledge, which allows students to apply their skills and understanding to unfamiliar contexts. OxfordAQA IGCSE examinations take place in May/June and November, and the A Level is in January and May/June.

Pearson Edexcel is the UK's largest awarding body offering academic and vocational qualifications in schools, colleges and work placed in the UK and abroad. Combining world-class qualification standards with a forward thinking approach and international content, Edexcel's qualifications help leaners either progress to higher education or go directly into employment.
Edexcel IGCSE examinations run in January and June. The A Level is in January, May/June and October.

American Computer Science League
美国计算机科学联赛起源于美国硅谷，拥有40年的历史，是美国历史悠久的中小学生计算机编程赛事之一。该比赛获得了美国国家中学校长联盟NASSP与美国计算机科学教师协会的官方认证和推荐，同时获得了如谷歌、Adobe、No Starch Press、O'Reilly Media、Pearson、Pragmatic Bookshelf、和Wolfram等著名高科技和教育企业的支持。随着各国日益重视编程教育，每年来自美国、加拿大、欧洲、非洲和亚洲的众多中小学生都踊跃参加到该竞赛中。
2018年我校成为ACSL（美国计算机科学联赛）考点，曾于2018年、2019年多次举办该赛事，容纳百余人考试，我校参赛学生也与来自其他学校的竞争对手一同在莱克顿参加该竞赛。

The American Computer Science League (ACSL) originated in the Silicon Valley of the United States. It is one of the oldest computer science competitions with 40 years of history. ACSL is approved and authenticated by the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) and the Computer Science Teachers Association. It is sponsored and supported by Google, ADOBE and other advanced technology companies. With the increasing emphasis on Programming Education, there are many students in the United States, Canada, Europe, Africa and Asia are participating in the competition.
Lucton has been granted recognition to conduct ACSL competition in 2018. The ACSL competition has been conducted both in 2018 and 2019 in Lucton, and there were more than 100 students took part in the competition.
American Mathematics Competition10/12
美国数学竞赛（AMC）由美国数学协会举办（MAA）。起源于1950年，目前每年全球超过6000所学校的30万名同学参赛，是全球最有影响力的青少年数学竞赛之一。美国数学竞赛系列竞赛包括了AMC8、AMC10/12、AIME、USAMOUSAJMO, 其中AMC10/12每年2月份举行，主要面向10年级（高一）和12年级（高三）以下的高中生。

The MAA’s American Mathematics Competitions (MAA AMC) program leads the students in strengthening the mathematical capabilities of the next generation of problem-solvers. In 1950, the first Mathematical Contest, sponsored by the New York Metropolitan Section of the Mathematics Association of America (MAA), took place. Today, the competition has grown to over 300,000 students participating annually, in over 6,000 schools. The AMC are a series of examinations including AMC 8, AMC 10/12, AIME, USAMO/USAJMO, in which the AMC 10/12 is for students in 10-12 grades and conducted in February each year.
Canadian Open Mathematics Challenge
加拿大数学奥赛是加拿大首屈一指的全国数学竞赛，为加拿大奥数国家队首轮选拔赛。旨在鼓励学生探索、发现和学习更多关于数学和解决问题的知识。主办方加拿大数学学会的核心宗旨是促进数学研究，帮助改进中小学的数学教学，鼓励支持数学和数学教育的发展。该竞赛成绩能成为非常权威的数学能力证明，为将来申请北美理工科专业增加竞争优势。
2018年11月，经过考试委员会官方授权，上海莱克顿学校已正式成为此项比赛的考点之一。至今，莱克顿多次成功举办该竞赛，在我校参赛的学生中，1名获金奖、4名获铜奖、2名获优秀奖。

The Canadian Open Mathematics Challenge (COMC) is Canada's premier national mathematics competition that is open to any student with an interest in and grasp of high school math. The purpose of the COMC is to encourage students to explore, discover, and learn more about mathematics and problem solving. COMC is hosted by CMS in Canada. The results of this competition can be a very authoritative proof of mathematical ability, which will increase the competitive advantage of applying to universities.
In November 2018, with the official authorization of the Examination Committee, Lucton had become one of the examination centre for this competition and successfully held the COMC 2018. Lucton students have joined the competitions on-site continuously in the past three years, and achieved a Gold award, four Bronze awards, and two Outstanding awards.
Australian Mathematics Competition
澳大利亚数学竞赛是全球历史悠久的金牌校际数学竞赛，澳大利亚数学联合会（AMT）每年通过该竞赛为澳大利亚选拔国际数学奥林匹克竞赛国家代表队。总计有来自 32个国家的1450万学生参与到该赛事，新颖的题型和多语言试题让全球的数学爱好者们得以在数学领域深刻切磋，共同学习，并深刻认识数学在生活中的重要性。
2019年9月，上海莱克顿学校被授权成为澳大利亚数学竞赛（AMC）的中国官方考点，于9月21日举办该竞赛，提供360个考位。我校学生也积极参与其中，最终斩获佳绩，6名同学获二等奖、8名同学获三等奖、5名同学获数学技能奖。

The Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC), a global inter-school mathematics competition organised by the Australian Mathematics Trust (AMT), was introduced in Australia in 1978. It has become the largest single event on the Australian education calendar, allowing over 14.5 million students from 32 countries to participate. At AMT, they are passionate about empowering students to become better problem solvers in school, so they can be creative solution finders in the future.
Lucton has been granted recognition to conduct AMC competition in September 2019, and successfully held the competition on September 21, 2019, offering 360 available places. Lucton students also achieved excellent results with six Distinction awards, eight Credit awards and five Proficiency awards.
Computational and Algorithmic Thinking
澳大利亚信息数学竞赛是由澳大利亚数学联合会（AMT）主办的，比赛旨在发掘学生的计算机编程潜力，专注于培养学生的逻辑思维。比赛适合学习任何数学课程的学生。CAT侧重于培养学生的计算能力和算法思维，不需要学生掌握任何计算机编程知识或编程语言。学生们有机会与来自全球不同国家的数学及编程爱好者共同竞技，锻炼自己的逻辑思维能力。
2019年，我校作为澳大利亚信息数学竞赛（简称CAT）的考点，顺利举办该考试，我校一名参赛学生获三等奖。

Computational and Algorithmic Thinking (CAT) is hosted by the Australian Mathematics Trust (AMT), whose purpose is to enrich the teaching and learning of mathematics for students of all standards. CAT competition focuses on the skills behind computer programming and algorithm design, but does not require any specific knowledge of programming or programming languages. Students could improve their logic thinking by competing with math and programming enthusiasts from different countries around the world.
In 2019, as an exam centre for CAT, Lucton held the exam successfully, and got a Third individual prize.
The Oxford University Computing Challenge
牛津大学编程思维挑战赛(The Oxford University Computing Challenge)，OUCC是由牛津大学为了激发青少年编程学习兴趣，培训青少年编程思维能力，以及选拔优秀人才，在2017年创办的新型编程思维挑战赛。开赛当年就有近万名英国选手参与。OUCC根据难度分为初级、中级、高级和精英级四个等级，分别对应小学，初中和高中。

The Oxford University Computing Challenge (OUCC) as a part of the UKCT Challenges, is a challenge for students aiming to help talented computational thinkers develop their skills by asking them to solve tasks with programmed solutions. Oxford University is the Organising Body of the competition. A pilot challenge took place in 2017 with developments added each year. There are four age categories which are Elite, Seniors, Intermediates and Juniors.
International Economics Olympiad
国际经济学奥林匹克（INTERNATIONAL ECONOMICS OLYMPIAD 简称IEO)是13项国际奥林匹克赛事（International Science Olympiads）之一，面向全世界高中生的年度学术交流活动，旨在鼓励对经济学、财务和商业感兴趣的学生，激发他们用创造性的方式解决问题。这是面向全球高中生的年度学术交流活动，旨在鼓励对经济学，金融案例和商业素养感兴趣的学生以创造性的方式解决问题。
由国际经济学奥林匹克组委会授权，我校已成为国际经济学奥林匹克竞赛的考点，将于2021年4月11日在我校开赛。

International Economics Olympiad (IEO) is one of the thirteen International Science Olympiads. It is an annual academic exchange event for high school students around the world, and it aims to encourage students interested in Economics, Finance Case and Business Literacy to solve problems in creative ways.
Lucton has been authorized by the IEO Organizing Committee, and will hold the open round competition on the coming April 11.
ASDAN Business Simulation
ASDAN 模拟商赛是以专业的模拟商战IT系统为基础，完全仿真还原市场和公司运营的真实环境与决策过程，包含运营决策、企业路演、商业对决、拍卖交易四大部分，各参赛团队需要运营自己的公司，去赢取更多净资产。通过该赛事，学生可以锻炼六项核心能力：团队协作能力、问题解决能力、学习与实践能力、市场分析能力、公众演讲能力和沟通能力。
2020年12月，莱克顿学子Cathy X 和Linda H所在的队伍在该竞赛中捧回3个专项奖：最佳品牌设计奖，最佳路演奖，商业对决奖，以及全场第二名 Silver Award，被授予ASDAN青年企业家奖ASDAN Enterprise Award，并成功晋级2021全明星赛！

ASDAN Business Simulation is a strategic business simulation game based on IT system. It creates a real marketing environment, including the operation decisions, roadshow, business battle and auction and deal. All the competing teams should run their own company, and gain more net assets. The overall competition experience provides all students the opportunity to force six core skills: teamwork skill, problem solving skill, knowledge application ability, market analysis capability, public speaking skill and communication skill.
The ASDAN Business Simulation 2020-21 just finished its two-days competition in last December. The Lucton 'Guardian Team' led by Cathy X and Linda H won the amazing prizes, which are the 'Brand Award', 'the Best Roadshow Award' and the 'Business Battle Winner', and also got the 'Silver Award' and the 'Enterprise Award' for the overall performance. Meanwhile, they are successfully qualified to the 'All Star' round in the following competition.

Canadian Chemistry Contest & Canadian Chemistry Olympiad
加拿大化学思维挑战(Canadian Chemistry Contest,简称CCC)由加拿大化学学会(Chemical Institute of Canada ,简称CIC)主办，是加拿大学术性最权威的化学挑战之一，旨在提高公民的科学素养，激发青少年对化学学习的兴趣。CCC也是加拿大化学奥林匹克(Canadian Chemistry Olympiad,简称CCO)的全国预选赛，成绩优秀者可以获邀进入加拿大化学奥林匹克全国决赛。

The Canadian Chemistry Contest (CCC) fosters an appreciation of chemistry as a career for talented young people and promotes national excellence in chemistry at the high school level. The CCC is carried out in conjunction with the Canadian Chemistry Olympiad (CCO). The CCC is intended for the top 10% of Canadian high school students taking chemistry. The CCO is intended for the top 5% of these students.
