As we all know, football is popular in almost all the countries in the world and it can improve students' speed, agility, endurance and strength; As teamwork, it also can promote their development of a sense of self and self-care and frustration tolerance skills; Learn how to communicate with peers and enhance Team and College cohesion.　

四月上旬，广州斐特思公学隆重举行了第一届“FCG学院杯”足球比赛。

Our first ever inter-house football competition took place in April.

本次比赛由斐特思四大学院运动“小将”组成，他们对足球的热情、技术和体育精神令老师们都感到无比惊喜。

All four Houses fielded teams of players of every age and stage and their enthusiasm, skill, and sportsmanship was a joy to behold.

比赛是在斐特思符合国际足联FIFA认证的专业足球场进行的。连续两个星期五，孩子们在结束午餐后前往现场观看比赛，每个孩子都在为自己所在的学院队欢呼和打气。

The initial rounds of the competition took place over two Fridays after lunch and these matches were watched from the pitch-side by all members of the Primary and Middle school, eager to cheer for and support their House.

4月30日，决赛在Potts学院和冰心学院之间进行，冰心学院占据下风，但他们防守顽强，努力组织反击，费尽九牛二虎之力的Potts学院抓住不多的机会，最终击败了冰心学院，赢得了最终的冠军。

At 30th Apri, the final was played between Potts House and Bing-Xin House. Although Bing-Xin House valiantly defended the goalmouth with considerable tenacity and determination, a concerted effort from the Potts House forwards eventually won the day.

赛后，英方总校长Marco向Potts学院颁发冠军奖杯。

The coveted FA Cup was presented to the winning team by the Head of College, Mr. Marco Longmore.

正如Marco所说的，在这次的足球比赛中，每个人都是赢家，大家像一个团队一样踢球，不仅在新的运动场上享受很多乐趣，还能巩固彼此之间的友谊。

As Marco said, it was one of those occasions when everyone was a winner, playing as a team, cementing friendships, and enjoying lots of fun up on the new Sports field.
