Diving into the MYP

本周，MYP的学生们运用不同的学院色来深入探究MYP中学项目。MYP中学老师准备了各式各样的活动，让学生更好地理解和学习“大概念”或理论的重要性，而不是仅仅是围绕着某个主题的学习。另外，学生还展开了以全球语境作为背景的学习之旅，规划期中作业及探索其评估方法，以及研究“ATL学习方法”可如何让他们成为更好的学习者。

This week, MYP students worked in their different house colors to dig deeper into the MYP. Our MYP teachers prepared various types of activities so that students could gain a better understanding of the importance of learning ‘big ideas’ or concepts rather than topics; having a global context as a lens for learning; how their work is being assessed in the MYP; and how the Approaches to Learning skills will help them become better learners.

为每次积极学习而完成的总结性任务显示了我们学生的创造性和批判性思维技能的发展。

The summative tasks completed for each learning engagement showed development in our students’ creative and critical thinking skills.

PYP Curriculum in Action (CIA) Day

and Parent Coffee Meeting (PCM)

在PYP小学部，这周的每一天都有不同年级的家长被邀请到课堂中参与孩子们的学习。家长沉浸式地与孩子一起上课，一起完成老师布置的任务，不仅可以让家长更清晰地了解孩子学习状态、学习内容，还增进了父母与教师之间的沟通与互动。

In the PYP department, parents of Grade 1 to Grade 5 were invited to participate in students' classes to engage in learning with their children. Immersed in the atmosphere of the classroom, parents are not only able to clearly understand their children's learning status and knowledge, but also enhance the understanding between parents and teachers.

参加完CIA后，班主任还与家长们进行咖啡会议，分享了单元课程设置、教学模式和学生日常生活的内容。

After participation in the CIA, parents were also invited to have a coffee meeting with our homeroom teachers, which was to share and answer the questions about the curriculums, model of instruction, and students' daily life at TWIS.

两场活动结束后，家长充分感受到了活力无限和齐心协作的学习氛围，因此TWIS也收到许多来自家长的积极反馈，一起来看看下图吧。

After the whole event, parents were able to experience the energetic and collaborative learning atmosphere. Hence, TWIS received a lot of positive feedback from them. Let's take a look at the picture below.

庆祝国际圆点日

Happy International Dot Day

国际圆点日，一个鼓励创造力、勇气和合作精神的全球性节日，起源于一本由绘本大师Peter Reynolds所撰写的儿童著名绘本《圆点》——圆点虽小，但它能发挥无限的创意。

恰逢国际圆点日的周三，TWIS的每个人都被鼓励穿着带有波点图案的衣服或贴着圆点贴纸来到校园，并且，大家聚在一起歌唱圆点日主题曲《The Dot Song》。

International Dot Day, a global celebration of creativity, courage and collaboration, is derived from Peter Reynolds’ famous picture book The Dot - "Just make a mark, and see where it takes you".

On Wednesday, we celebrated an enchanting International Dot Day on the campus, in which everyone was encouraged to dress in polka dot clothes, or put on dot stickers on their hands. What‘s more, all of the PYP students were gathered together to perform The Dot Song.
