Meet Mrs Jane Arden

Acting Headteacher of LEH Foshan

Training and mentoring teachers is key for Jane in creating schools fit for the 21st century. “I am looking forward to guiding and teaching the students at LEH Foshan and providing them with opportunities at school to help them develop the skills required to be an internationally minded citizen. Similarly, I am excited to work with a group of committed and inspiring teachers who will bring the best of a British education to Foshan!”

I very much wanted to be part of an establishment that recognises education as being more than just the traditional subjects. LEH recognises the value of the arts, it recognises the strength of mind it takes to be a great athlete; it admires the tenacity of the budding actor who will endure rejection upon rejection before achieving success.

I am educating my own children in China, and I want them both to experience what it feels like in a school where every individual is celebrated. Every student is important, and education is a happy and purposeful experience. Life at school may not always be easy, but if a student feels cared for and respected, they will thrive. 

目前我的女儿们都在中国接受教育，我希望她们能够在重视和赞美每一个学生的学校里学习。每个学生都很重要，教育应该是一种快乐和意义丰富的体验。校园生活并不总是一帆风顺，学生们只有感受到自己备受关怀和尊重，才能茁壮成长。

LEH Foshan is a beautiful site, the facilities are state-of-the-art and reflect the desire that each student should have space, as well as time to grow into an adult ready for the 21st century.

My daughter enjoys living and studying at LEH Foshan. She also enjoys the international mindset of the school. Her peers come from all over the world. She has friends from every hemisphere, and she now recognises that this is so important to understand and respect cultural differences and embrace every opportunity you are given in life, to get to know and understand people.

我的女儿很喜欢在佛山霍利斯学习和生活，她也很喜欢学校的国际化氛围。她的同龄人来自世界各地，从中她认识到，在日常待人接物和处事中，理解和尊重文化差异至关重要，从而学习去了解每个个体的不同之处以及不同的文化背景。

Under my leadership, I want not only to emulate the legacy of LEH London by offering a holistic education to all our students. I want to give each student not only the physical space, but also the emotional space to express themselves and grow into the finest version of themselves through a well-balanced academic curriculum and a plethora of extra school activities. Students can, at LEH become dynamic young adults, fearless in their outlook. I want students at LEH to be excited to come to school, to not be afraid to take chances, to embrace new learning opportunities. 

在我的带领下，佛山霍利斯不仅会继续传承英国LEH学校的优良传统，为学生提供全人教育，还会通过均衡的学术课程和丰富的课外活动，给予每个学生充分发挥潜能和表达自我的空间，帮助他们成为最优秀的自己，充满活力，勇往直前。我希望学生们在佛山霍利斯每天都会期待着上学，不惧怕挑战，拥抱新的学习机会。

I also want us to be unashamedly academic, to embrace learning, to respect each other's thinking. Students of the 21st century need a range of intelligences; at LEH and under the careful guidance of the absolute best teachers, our students will acquire the desire to be part of something great, to widen their horizons of thinking and not be afraid to challenge. Throughout their school life at LEH, I would like all students to feel a sense of pride in their work, in the community they are building. I would like them to share their beautiful school and the talents they have with the local community and beyond.

我也希望学生们能够拥有一个自由宽松的学术环境，勇于表达，主动学习，并学会尊重不同的想法。21世纪需要多技能人才，在佛山霍利斯，学生们能在最优秀的教学团队的精心指导下，不断拓宽思维视野，勇敢面对挑战。我希望学生们能对自己所付出的努力和他们共同建立的学习社区感到骄傲和自豪，并在广阔的舞台上分享他们的才能，绽放光芒。

We have just received confirmation from COBIS (Council of British International Schools) that we have been approved for membership. This ratifies that our school is safe, well-run, and well led. In the feedback it was highlighted that LEH is a joyous school that students and staff feel happy and successful. It was also noted that for such a young school the educational practises were well-embedded. I am honoured and privileged to be part of this school; to have the opportunity to guide LEH Foshan to the next level of development is a lifetime's dream for me. I want all my students to see that no dream is too big, and no desire is too unreachable. Together, anything is possible.

佛山霍利斯正式获得了COBIS（英国国际学校理事会）的认可，被批准加入成为会员。这证明了我们的学校是一所安全的、运营良好的和领导有方的学校。COBIS的反馈报告中强调了佛山霍利斯是一所充满愉悦的学校，学生和教职员工在日常学习和工作环境中能收获充足的幸福感和成就感。报告还指出，对于这样一所年轻的学校来说，能够将教育实践如此充分落实，实在难能可贵。我很荣幸能够成为佛山霍利斯的一员，能有机会帮助佛山霍利斯更上一层楼，这也是我一生的梦想成就。我希望我所有的学生都能明白，没有不能实现的愿望，没有遥不可及的梦想。团结起来，一切皆有可能。
