Good morning everyone, 

I’m Alina Li from Lyon House. I have been at Harrow Haikou for 2 years now and feel very proud to be one of its founding students. 

I still remember the beginning of my Harrow journey when there were only a few EA courses I could choose from. However, in the past year I have witnessed a variety of EA courses from arts to literature such as fashion design, Chinese culture experience course and creative writing.

Also, I can clearly see the improvement in our peers’ English proficiency. I can hear students talking in English everywhere from the corridors to the canteen, which means that English has become one of the most important parts of their daily life. In terms of relationships, during the very first house event, which was the scavenger hunt, everyone was too shy to talk with each other and could hardly even say their name correctly. But now, everyone is familiar with their peers and we get along very well with each other.

One of my most favorite memories so far is when I saw new students being helped to adjust to their new environment by other students. Senior students introduced new pupils to their classmates, showed them the school facilities and answered their questions. I think this is the best interpretation of fellowship.

Harrow places enormous value on both courage and honor, and I was reminded of both of these during the Harrow Ducker. Compared with last year, this year’s competition was even more challenging for us. I recall that a member from my house had difficulty finishing the whole course. However, when she heard the deafening cheers from her house members, she felt encouraged and kept running. I think it was the encouragement from her peers that gave her the courage to complete the course.

Finally, I believe that every Harrow student will develop a passion for lifelong learning and leadership which will lay a solid foundation for future excellence and active service to the community. I am confident that each Harrovian will do their very best to maximize their leadership skills in the years ahead.

大家早上好！我是来自里昂院舍的Alina Li。我来到哈罗海口已经两年了，我非常自豪能够成为哈罗海口创校生的一员。

我仍然记得我在哈罗生活的开始，那时我只能选择几门课外课课程。然而，在过去一年，我陆续见证了各类课外课的开设，包括时装设计、中国文化体验、创意写作等艺术和文学课程。

同时，我可以明显察觉到同学们的英语水平有所提高。从教室走廊到餐厅，到处都能听到同学们在用英语交谈，英语已经成为我们日常生活中最重要的部分之一。在人际交往方面，第一次参加院舍的寻宝活动时，每个人都害羞得不敢说话，甚至连自己的名字都说不出来。但现在，大家都彼此熟悉，相处得也十分融洽。

目前为止，我最为美好的记忆是，我看到很多同学会帮助新同学适应学校这个新环境。高年级学生会向同学们介绍新生，向新同学们介绍学校的设施并回答他们的疑问。我认为这是对“互助”精神的最好诠释。

哈罗也十分重视“勇气”与“荣誉”，在哈罗环校跑（Harrow Ducker）活动时我充分体会到了这两点。与去年相比，今年的比赛更具挑战性。我记得我们院舍有位同学在比赛中几乎无法坚持下去。但是当她听到院舍同学们震耳欲聋的加油声时，她感到鼓舞并继续奔跑。我想是同学们的鼓励让她有勇气跑完全程。

最后，我相信每一位哈罗学生都会热衷于终生学习和提高自身领导力，这将为他们未来的卓越成就和积极服务社区奠定坚实基础。我相信每位哈罗人都会尽最大努力在未来的日子里发挥自身的领导能力。
