The new school year 2022-2023 has officially started at LEH International School Foshan. We are delighted to see new and returning students and their smiling faces back to our beautiful campus!
Check out our wonderful recap video.
The whole LEH Foshan community, including students, staff members and families, gathered on Wednesday, 31st August 2022 in the morning in the school’s newly renovated theatre to celebrate a new chapter in the history of our school. Our Headteacher, Mrs Jane Arden, gave everyone a very warm welcome, shared her vision and best wishes for the new school year.
Celebrating Sixth Form & Prep School
At the start of new school year, LEH Foshan also reached two significant milestones in the school growth, the opening of our Prep School and Sixth Form.
Mrs Debbie Kirk, Head of Sixth Form, introduced our first cohort of Sixth Form students, also called Sixth Form Prefects, to the stage and shared her aspirations for them to make a positive impact on the younger students and the community.
The establishment of Prep School will extend our outstanding British education to younger students aged 8-10. After the assembly, Ms Mandy Bateman, Head of Prep School invited students and families to our newly furnished Prep School rooms where she introduced our homeroom teachers, all from the UK, learning supports and Prep School curriculum to our parents. After her speech, families had the opportunities to meet and talk to the teachers and learned more about how their child(ren) will be physically, mentally and culturally nurtured at our Prep School.
New Teachers and School Leaders
The school new year also welcomed nearly 20 new qualified, passionate and well-experienced teachers and school leaders. Together, we will ensure the delivery of a world-class British education to the child(ren) and nurture them to become dynamic and fearless future leaders.
New students were assigned a new iPad or laptop and set up their school accounts with the support of Mr Adam Stenning, Head of Computer Sciences and staff from the school’s IT Department. They will benefit from the school’s enormous digital learning resources and subscriptions, and will enjoy learning more with the help of the state-of-the-art technologies.
Boarders also settled down and met their new roommates. In the coming school year, they will engage in an extended learning sessions and activities, forge new friendship and develop essential life skills and interpersonal skills in a safe and supportive environment, which lead a new level of independence, resilience and confidence.
As part of the induction programme, on the following day the students were given the opportunity to join either a residential trip to Qingyuan or an on-campus camping programme, both with our teachers accompanied.
These provided excellent ice-breaking opportunities for students, especially for new students, and to make friends with not only their peers but all students across different year groups in various team building activities. We cannot wait to share all the lovely photos with you! So please do stay in touch for next week’s update.
A new school year opens a new opportunity for every student, their parents and members of staff. It is an opportunity to start with new enthusiasm, with new hope and a sense of joyful anticipation. Working together, we look forward to making greater achievements and happy memories in the coming incredible and productive school year.
