虽然TWIS学生会是一个全新的校内组织，但他们已经成功地举办了两次活动。在万圣节积累了举办活动的经验后，学生会在冬季开启了一个更大的项目——圣诞市集活动。

Although our Student Council (StuCo) is relatively brand new, they have already two successful events under their belts. After gaining experience in organizing the Haunted House during Halloween, the StuCo embarked on a much bigger project for the winter: The Christmas Fun Fair.

在学生的领导和教师的配合下，TWIS社区成员有机会享受到不同摊位带来的乐趣。在食品和饮料区，我们可以品尝到自制的饼干、热巧克力和柠檬水；在游戏和活动区，我们能够从玩乐中赢得众多奖品。感谢学生会，让我们以这种美妙的方式度过一个愉快的下午！

The TWIS community enjoyed a variety of booths led by students and lovingly supported by their teachers. We were treated to homemade cookies, hot chocolate and lemonade in the food and beverage area. In the games and activities, we won many prizes while having fun. Thank you, Student Council, for an entertaining afternoon!

在学生开始享受冬季假期时，TWIS教职工坚持返回学校参加每学期的专业发展工作坊。作为一所IB世界学校，培养终身学习者不仅仅是为了学生，还为了社区的每一位成员。我们为TWIS是一个学习型社区而感到自豪。因此，我们也必须“言行合一”，在放假前积极参与专业发展的培训。这一次，TWIS有幸邀请到来自上海的长期专注于奢侈品领域的传播顾问Arlene Qi女士。在高端零售品牌和客户运营方面有着丰富经验的她，于工作坊中分享了关于传播视角重要性的独家见解，为我们的员工提供了如何深化沟通的方法论。

While our students started enjoying their winter holiday, the staff continued to come to school for professional development. As an IB World School, developing lifelong learners is not just for students but for every member of the community. We pride ourselves as a learning community, and therefore, we have to "walk the talk" and pursue professional development before we head for the holidays. This time around we had the pleasure of having Ms. Arlene Qi, a luxury communication consultant flying in from Shanghai. She gave an exclusive seminar on the importance of perspective. Ms. Qi's experience with high-end retail brands and clients was sure to leave our staff searching to deepen their ATL of communication.

沟通与传播是学校工作的重要组成部分，也可能是工作较为复杂的一环。而促进学校与家庭或同伴之间的真诚透明地沟通始终是TWIS关注的领域，我们努力接受和缩小多元文化环境中的差异，让我们的教育工作者、行政人员和其他学校工作人员与学生家庭密切合作，从而改善所有人的学校体验。

Communication is an essential part of any school experience, but it can be an arduous process. Fostering transparent and honest communication with families and peers is key for TWIS. We strive to embrace and narrow the gap in our multicultural environment and empower our educators, administrators, and staff members to work closely with families to improve the school experience for all.

作为终身学习者，我们不断地更新与发展自我。在工作坊中，Ms. Arlene帮助我们重新整合沟通的过程与重点，分享如何“反转”固有的思考模式。参加工作坊的人还被分成不同的小组，大家就各自的观点进行了交流，而我们的特邀嘉宾也针对不同的语境为大家寻求有效的解决方案。

As life-long learners, it is important to keep developing. Arlene Qi helped us to re-evaluate how we should view communication; it is important and in which areas everyone could twist their perspective. During the seminar, everyone was organized into groups with different representatives from the varied departments in the school. Points of view were shared, and solutions were found to the different scenarios presented by the speaker.

感谢Ms. Arlene的分享，感谢她对TWIS的情况进行了深度的研究，提出宝贵的建议，并为我们致力于终身学习的员工提供了一次发人深省的专业发展培训，使大家成为更好的沟通者。

We would like to thank Ms. Qi again for taking the time to learn about TWIS, giving valuable feedback and providing a thought-provoking professional development morning to our life-long learning staff in their mission to become better communicators.

在2022卡塔尔世界杯赛程接近尾声之时，东华文泽学校的足球赛场上也迎来了一场精彩纷呈的足球友谊赛——东莞TLC国际学校足球队来到我校，与TWIS足球队共同上演了一场激烈的友谊赛。

As the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 was drawing to a close, a thrilling friendly football match between TLC International School and Tungwah Wenzel International School took place on the school's field.

紧张的比赛持续了一个多小时，双方队员大显身手，凭借着精湛的球技、出色的发挥、默契的配合，良好地展现了拼搏的体育精神。赛场上的精彩表现引来观赛双方观众的不断喝彩与欢呼。在这场足球友谊赛中，TLC国际学校与TWIS以球会友，从而增进两校的交流与合作。期待我们的下一次会面！

The tense match continued for more than an hour, with players from both sides showing off their prowess, excellent strategies and tacit cooperation, which exemplifies the spirit of perseverance and sportsmanship. The friendly football match was a great opportunity for TLC International School and TWIS to meet each other and develop cooperation between the two schools. We look forward to our next meeting!

本周，MYP中学项目和DP大学预科项目的学生顺利完成了各个学科的学校内部测评考试。

This week, our MYP and DP students successfully completed their internal assessments in their various subjects.

学校之所以举办内部测评考试，原因在于：

为学生提供一个机会以全面展示他们在不同学科中所收获的重要知识和技能；
培养温故而知新的习惯；
为学生创建严格的考试氛围，以此获得参加一系列特定科目考试的经验，为他们未来参加公开考试如IB国际文凭考试、英语水平测试、汉语水平考试（HSK）、SAT测验或其他校外考试等，做好充分准备。

These assessments take place for three reasons:

to provide students with an opportunity to demonstrate important knowledge and skills that they have been working to develop in different subject groups;
to develop the important habit of revision;
to provide students with the experience of taking a series of subject‐specific examinations under strict examination conditions to prepare them for public examinations such as the IB Diploma, English Proficiency examinations, HSK, SAT or other external examinations.

无论是日常学习还是校内考试，我们都为学生所表现出的决心和他们所取得的成就感到自豪。而下一步，我们的教师将向学生反馈他们的进步之处以及需要改进的地方。

We are proud of our students’ determination and what they have accomplished. The next step is for teachers to give feedback to our students regarding their achievements and areas for improvement.
