Letter from 2022 CISH  Graduating Student Janna Luhrmann Class Valedictorian 2022

Dear CISH Students, Staff and Parents，

亲爱的CISH师生和家长们，

Last year in 2022, I graduated from the CISH (Canadian International School of Hefei ). Overall, I am grateful that I had the opportunity to go to such a good school and to do the International Baccalaureate（IB）. Especially, now in university, I realize how much the IB and CISH helped and prepared me for university. 

在刚过去的2022年，我从合肥加拿大外籍人员子女学校（简称：CISH）毕业并开启了大学一年级的生活。回首过往旅程，我很感谢曾有缘就读于这么棒的学校及进入IB国际文凭课程体系。尤其是通过现在大学学习生活的实践，更加体会到IB和CISH对我的助益之深。

I decided to study Mechanical Engineering in Germany (Technical University of Munich). I enjoy the program, although it is quite hard. However, the IB program helped me start learning what good time management means. We had a lot of work to do, and I learned that I was responsible to finish the work on time. I learned how I could deal with stressful situations and what is best for me in these situations to stay productive and balanced. Of course, it is different in university and it is a big change, but knowing the importance of time management, balance, and productivity, it helped me enormously to adapt to the change. This is how the IB Program prepared me for university but also in particular how CISH helped me.

我后来选择了在德国慕尼黑工业大学攻读机械工程专业，虽然专业很难，但是我喜欢的。好在IB课程体系的学习经验帮助我锻炼出了良好的时间管理能力。虽然学业繁重，但我能够很好地完成并有所收获。我学会了如何在压力下保持高效和平衡的最佳学习方法。当然，开启大学生活是一个别样的新挑战，但知道时间管理、平衡和效率的重要性，就极大地帮助了我适应变化。这就是合肥加拿大外籍人员子女学校的IB课程体系对我的助益。

I am thankful the school does not only offer the IB but also additional AP courses such as AP Calculus and Economics.  Many of my DP teachers and AP teachers helped me to really understand the topics and concepts we learn in university. Therefore, I could already start my program with confidence and a good feeling instead of being overwhelmed. In addition, being a member of the Maple Dragon Basketball Team helped me to grow and build confidence which also bettered me. 

我很感谢母校不仅有IB课程体系，还提供其他AP课程，如AP微积分和经济学。我的许多DP老师和AP老师帮助我真正提前理解了在大学学习的主题和概念。正是因为有这些铺垫，我才可以满怀信心和良好的心情开始我的大学专业课学习，而不是不知所措。此外，成为母校枫叶龙篮球队的一员帮助我成长并建立了信心，这也让我变得更好。

Overall, I am extremely thankful for everything the CISH community did for me. The support of the teachers, the amazing education, and the opportunities for self-growth have really helped me at university.

总的来说，我非常感谢CISH这个大家庭为我所做的一切。老师们的支持、令人惊叹的教学、以及自我成长的机会，都真正帮助了我的大学生活。
