东华文泽学校是一所致力于帮助社区成员建立联系的学校,而实现这一目标的方法之一是践行共进午餐计划。通过为教师和学生提供一个平台,这项计划能够让师生在沟通中更有效地了解彼此,以此建立更为良好和更有意义的的师生关系。


TWIS is a school that is dedicated to fostering connections within its education community. One way the school achieves this is through its school lunch dates program, which connects students and their homeroom teachers over lunchtime. This initiative provides an opportunity for students and teachers to get to know each other on a more personal level and build meaningful relationships.



在课堂之外建立稳固的师生关系有着众多好处,比如,它可以提升学生在学校环境中的舒适感和自信心,这反过来可以推动学生在学术领域上取得相应的成就。另一方面,教师能够更好地了解学生和他们的个人需求,从而更好地为学生创造一个更具个性化和高效的学习体验。


Building strong relationships between students and teachers outside the classroom setting has many benefits. Students are more likely to feel comfortable and confident in their school environment, which can lead to improved academic performance. Teachers, on the other hand, are able to better understand their students and their individual needs, which can help to create a more personalized and effective learning experience.



正如“如果家长和教师不以孩子的最大利益为出发点,任何学校都不可能为孩子们提供良好的服务”那句名言所暗示的,学生、教师和家长之间的伙伴关系对于成功的教育经历至关重要。TWIS的师生共进午餐计划是一个很好的案例,这说明着学校正在努力促进这些伙伴关系,从而创建一个更强大的、更富支持性的教育社区。


As the quote "No school can work well for children if parents and teachers do not act in partnership on behalf of the children's best interests" suggests, partnerships between students, teachers, and parents are crucial for a successful educational experience. TWIS's school lunch dates program is a great example of how the school is working to foster these partnerships and create a strong, supportive educational community.




为迎接兔年的到来,PYP小学二年级学生在图书馆阅读课准备单元总结性任务时共同阅读了一本名为《兔子》的书籍。在教师的指导下,学生学习了解和讨论作者撰写此故事的成因,随后在班级辩论中他们把现有的知识与关于兔子的知识串联起来。在辩论的过程中,学生勇敢地与同伴分享知识,体现了IB学习者中“知识渊博”的一面。


PYP2 began their summative task preparation by looking through an informative book in the PYP library time which was called ‘Rabbits’. Students were asked to identify and talk about the authors’ purpose behind the story and make links to their own existing knowledge and opinions about Rabbits in a class debate. This in turn exemplified growth with their IB learner profiles of being knowledgeable and being risk-takers by sharing their existing knowledge with their peers.  



PYP小学二年级学生在这一单元中的主要学习内容是文化价值和传统。以兔年为契机,学生被布置了一项研究任务——制作兔子信息图表,并就兔年可能给他们和他们的家庭带来的影响发表自己的观点。


Cultural values and traditions form a major element within this unit and PYP2 students were set a research task based on this lesson. They then produced a series of infographic rabbits and gave their own opinion on what the Chinese Year of the Rabbit may bring for them and their families! 



这项总结性任务不仅让学生研究了中国的文化历史,还让学生有机会以一种富有意义、活力和充满爱心的方式扩展他们对写作和阅读的热爱,以及学会珍视和尊重学生及其家庭的文化传统。


This summative task did not only investigate Chinese cultural history, but also gave them the chance for students to extend their love for writing and reading in a meaningful, spirited, and caring way. A wonderful way to show respect and value to our families and traditions for students!





近期,TWIS所有学生都参加了著名的“编程一小时”活动。活动期间,MYP设计部门为MYP中学一年级至五年级学生提供了编码体验课程,而PYP小学生则在信息技术课程上体验了编码程序。学习编码并不仅仅是为了获取计算机编程知识,它更是为了让学生收获21世纪至关重要的技能——计算思维。计算思维指的是通过将复杂的问题分解为更细小的、更容易处理的子问题从而理解原问题的过程。拥有计算思维的人会学习到如何将此思维逻辑运用到解决实际问题的过程中,寻找模式,并学习抽象知识。 


TWIS students participated in the famous "Hour of Code" activity recently. The entire MYP Design department delivered coding experiences for MYP1 through MYP5 while PYP students did coding activities in the ICT class. Learning to code is not about computer programming, it is also about learning the important 21st Century skill of Computational Thinking. Computational thinking is the process of understanding complex problems by breaking them down into smaller more manageable sub-problems. Computational thinkers can learn about applying logic to problems, finding patterns, and learning about abstraction.



在“编程一小时”活动期间,中学生尝试开发应用程序,而小学生则热衷于学习使用模块编程开发游戏。每一年,TWIS的学生都会有机会参加各式各样的编码项目,以帮助他们了解计算机在我们所身处的世界中的重要性。在TWIS,编码既有趣又有创意,因为在设计课程上,MYP学生有机会将技能与应用开发能力相结合,而DP学生可以学习具有挑战性的IB计算机科学课程。


MYP students experimented with app development while PYP students enjoyed learning about game development using block coding. Every year TWIS students are able to engage in coding projects to help them understand how important computing and computer coding are in our world. At TWIS, coding can be both fun and creative as MYP students have the opportunity to learn to mix design skills with application development in the Design class while DP students can embark on the challenging IB Computer Science course.
