在上一篇文章中我们带来英国阿丁莱学院的首次问候,接下来我们将在本期文章继续为大家分享双方的战略合作目标,以及我们为学生精心打造的15年独特教育之旅。

独特教育之旅

我们与中山阿丁莱的战略目标是为中国学生提供独一无二的双语教育。而在实现这一宏远目标上,英国阿丁莱学院与中山阿丁莱在统一的教育文化基础上建立了牢固的信任关系,并构建在如下五个基本原则之上:


1、打造一所具备英语优势的本土学校

中山阿丁莱在文化和教育目标上具有鲜明的中国特色,这正与英国阿丁莱学院的国际课程项目完美契合。学生们将根植于中国文化及其身份,着眼于国际化的未来世界。

2、弥合文化差异

运作与决策方式往往在不同学校和文化中存在许多差异。因此在任何时候,我们都力求理解存在的差异,并呼吁大家共同寻找管理与教育方式的共性和融合点。为支持这一点,相较于沟通技巧,我们会更为重视倾听技能,正如人有两只耳朵一张嘴,更适合成为聆听者。

3、高远抱负和持续提升

为符合家长对于阿丁莱教育的高期望值,学校管理将对应建立起自身的高远抱负和持续提升。在给予充分的时间、资源和鼓励的前提下,学生、教师,甚至是管理者都将不断学习、成就自我。

4、同一学校,同一成功

无论是来自中国还是其他国家,学校的教职工和管理团队都将凝结成一个整体。每个人都为实现学校使命所默默努力,并在该过程中共享一个目标、身份和组织。尊重差异、亲密协作,以及拥有一个相同的目标,这将确保不同岗位的每一位员工都充分获得自我价值,并保持协作精神。

5、共享教学的文化

每名外籍教师都需要了解和鉴赏中国的教育政策、文化、课程和学生独有的学习方式,并与中国教师展开积极合作;同理,我们也鼓励中国教师去学习了解外籍教师的教学风格。而在中国义务教育课程与国际化课程的融合中,我们更严格要求与之相关的教师们共享知识并采用相互合作的教研方式,以保证教学的有机整合和一致性。

英国阿丁莱学院的成长之旅

英国阿丁莱学院的成长之旅从2岁开启,学生将遵循EYFS课程,其与IB PYP课程十分相似,即围绕特定主题,并通过一种极具吸引力、以儿童为中心的方式将课程的各个板块进行结合。随后,学生将开始接触阿丁莱核心课程直至9年级(等同于中国的初二)。该课程源自英国国家课程,通过阿丁莱独特的教育方式进行融合优化。如同中国国家课程一般,有着广泛和平衡的学术学科。学生还将在12年级和13年级(即中国的高二和高三)选择学习A-Levels、IBDP或BTEC课程前,参与两年的IGCSE课程。整个学校还为学生提供了强大的关怀体系和课外活动体系,学生的福祉和全人发展都将通过独特的导师制以及学院制得到充分支持。

中山阿丁莱的成长之旅

在完成全部筹设工作后,中山阿丁莱将涵盖幼儿园、小学、初中及高中学段,学生可选择全寄宿或走读。幼儿园将打造成IB PYP学校,小学和初中方向计划以国家课程为核心融合探究式教学方法,为高中阶段的多轨升学打下扎实基础;国际化融合高中方向以英国阿丁莱学院的最高标准作为基石,计划为学生提供A-Level, AP以及HKDSE(香港中学文凭考试)三大升学轨道。其中,中山市阿丁莱幼儿园已于2022年秋季正式开学。

此外,我们也兴奋地与您分享一则喜讯,英国阿丁莱学院教育团队计划将在今年9月亲临中山阿丁莱开展实地访问。我们也期待届时能在崭新校园中,见到怀有相同教育抱负的您!

In our last article, our first greetings from Ardingly College, UK was presented to our parents and children, and we will continue to share our strategic aim of partnership and the unique 15-year educational journey we have crafted for our students.

THE AMAZING EDUCATIONAL JOURNEY PROVIDED BY US

The strategic aim of the partnership is to provide the best possible Bilingual Education to pupils in China. To achieve this, ACZS and ACUK have developed a strong and trusting relationship based on a shared educational culture, which is based on five fundamental principles:



1A Chinese School with an English Specialism

Ardingly College Zhongshan is distinctively Chinese in its culture and educational purpose; however, this is seamlessly integrated with our International Programmes and courses. We hope our students are firmly rooted in their Chinese culture and identity with an eye towards an international future.

2Bridging Cultural Differences

The ways in which schools are run and decisions are made can vary significantly between schools and cultures. At all times, we seek to understand these differences and work together to find a similarity and fusion of management styles and education. To support this, the skill of listening is prized above the skill of talking and encapsulated in the phrase 'two ears, one mouth'.

3High Aspiration and Continuous Improvement

To meet the high expectations of our parents, a culture of aspiration and constant improvement is built into school management. Time, resources and encouragement is given to enable teachers to become better teachers, students to become better students and managers to become better managers.

4One School, One Success

Staff and management form one body and are not divided into Chinese and foreign teaching staff. All teaching staff share the same aims, identity and structure in working towards the school mission. Respect for differences, Collaboration, and one shared purpose will ensure that the School maintains a collaborative ethos in all positions.

5Sharing Teaching Cultures

Foreign teachers must know and appreciate Chinese education policy, culture, curriculum and student learning styles and work collaboratively with Chinese teachers. Similarly, Chinese teachers must seek to learn and appreciate the teaching styles of foreign teachers. In addition, the core Chinese compulsory curriculum integrated with the international programme requires knowledge from all stakeholders and a collaborative approach to teaching in order to ensure organic integration and complete  alignment.

A Journey Through K-12 Curriculum at ACUK

Our Pre-Nursery starts at age 2 and students follow the EYFS curriculum which is very similar to the IB PYP, in that it is based around thematic topics which bring together all aspects of the curriculum in an engaging and child focused way. Students then follow the Ardingly curriculum up to Yr 9 (Chinese G8), which is drawn from the UK National Curriculum but interpreted in our own way. Like the Chinese national curriculum it is broad and balanced across academic disciplines. Students then take IGCSEs for two years before either choosing A Levels, IB Diploma or BTEC in years 12 and 13 (G11-12). There is a strong pastoral care and extra-curricular system throughout the school and student well-being and holistic development is supported through the tutorial and house system, and is of central importance to the Ardingly student journey.

A Journey Through K-12 Curriculum at ACZS

Ardingly College Zhongshan provides a Kindergarten, Primary School, Middle School, and Dual-path Senior High School with day or boarding provisions. Ardingly College Zhongshan(Kindergarten) will be an IB PYP school, the Primary and Middle School will have the National Curriculum as its core and will integrate inquiry-based teaching methods to provide a solid foundation for multiple tracks in future. The International High School integrated the highest standards of Ardingly College, UK as its cornerstone, with plans to provide students with three pathways of A-Level, AP and HKDSE. Ardingly College Zhongshan(Kindergarten) officially opened in the autumn of 2022.

We are also excited to share with you that a core team from Ardingly College, UK will have a visit to us in September. And we look forward to seeing you on our brand new campus with similar educational aspirations!
