我真的没有想到我的IGCSE成绩都是A star，特别是历史和英语第一语言。说实话，去年在选课的时候我非常的纠结。而最让我困惑的是，我对人文学科有着巨大的热情，但是选择读它是一个很冒险的决定因为英语从来都不是我的第一语言。相比之下，‘据大多数人来说’ 科学看起来更‘适合’中国学生去拿到好分数来申请顶尖大学。

之后我开始思考我到底想成为什么样的人：在他人眼里成功还是做自己真正热爱的事？显而易见，你们可以看到我选择后者并且已经做好了失败的准备，但是奇迹般地是我取得了满意的成绩。我很感谢所有支持我的人，我的爸爸妈妈非常理解我的决定告诉我‘即便失败了也没事只要我能够满意自己学到的东西’，张老师帮助我做升学规划，Mr David带我畅游英国文学的世界，Mr Raul 让生物变得浪漫又神奇。还有很多人我无法一一感谢，但是我真诚地感谢你们，如果没有你们我永远不会是现在的我。

It was a huge surprise for me to receive all A star in IGCSE, especially history and English as First Language. To be frank, it had been very struggling for me to decide which subjects to study last year. And what puzzled me the most is that I had an enormous passion on humanity and arts, but it would be too risky to choose since English was never my first language. Compared with that, science seem to be more ‘suitable’ for Chinese students to get a good grade and enter a top university according to the ‘majority’.

Then, I began to think about what kind of person I really want to be: to be successful in others’ views or to listen to my heart? Obviously, you can see that I chose the latter and had prepared to fail - but miraculously I passed. I really appreciate everyone who supports me; my parents showed great understanding to my decision saying that ‘it is okay if you fail as long as you are satisfied with what you have leant’, Ms Zhang helped me to plan my future career, Mr. David led me into the splendour literature world, Mr.Raul made biology a romantic and magical subject , and so many that I cannot thank here. But sincerely, I want to say thank you all, without you I will never be me.

那几个月的学习非常累，我很高兴我的努力没有白费！我很高兴我达到了我的目标，并希望用这个节奏继续追求完美！我还要感谢辛勤工作的老师们，是他们让我来到这里，他们回答了我有时无法解决的问题，以及会确保我理解一切的内容。

Those few months studying were treacherous, I’m just happy my efforts didn’t go to nothing! I’m quite happy I reached my goal and want to continue at this pace aiming for perfection! I also want to thank the hardworking teachers that got me here, the ones who answered my sometimes unsolvable questions and the ones who helped make sure I understood everything.

拿到这个成绩的时候还是很开心的，因为我每一门科目都准备了很久。最令我意外的是mock的时候拿了B的EFL在一个月的恶补下最终得到了A——其实最开始的时候我对这门科目是很没信心的，毕竟我一直对自己的英语水平深感怀疑（笑）但是mock后的那一个月我一直看视频自学答题技巧，并且不断练习写narrative writing和老师讨论，最终在IG考试的时候获得了很大的提升。

I think my results are all satisfactory since I have worked hard this semester for my IGCSE exam. Among all subjects, my EFL grade surprised me the most, because my English skills are really doubtful and i got a B in my mock exam. However, during the last month, I worked really hard by watching tutorial videos on YouTube and keeping practicing writing a lot. Every week i wrote one or two narrative writings and sent it to my teacher, and i benefited from our discussions, which really improved my skills.

很荣幸被评为国际考优秀学生之一，这是对我在学习和努力上的认可，也是对我在今后学业上的鼓励。在以后的学习当中我会尽力而为并且持续提高我的英语水平。不求做的最好，但求做的更好，在我未来的路途当中我会努力提高各方面的自己。

It is a great honor to be rated as one of the excellent students in the international examination. This is not only my recognition of my study and efforts, but also an encouragement in my future studies. In the future study, I will do my best and continue to improve my English level. I will also strive to improve myself in all aspects in my future journey.

这次考试成绩有惊喜和惊吓，一个是我没想到历史能拿a*，还有一个是没想到我历史拿了a*，EFL能考这么“差”。毕竟两个都是文科，本以为相差不会太远。拿的几个a必须要感谢老师们的支持与付出。其中历史老师的考前课堂在时间和空间上给了我很大的“复习自由”。然后物理老师的课堂一直是最热闹的 - 你总不会觉得无聊 - 因为黑板上总有待抢答的物理学问题。至于EFL，虽然成绩不理想，但是备考过程中也是在Mr David的帮助下写了一些不错的作文，还是学到了不少。AS数学虽然有a，但实际分数不大满意。还是感谢王老师和唐老师给予我的帮助。AS化学从一开始的没什么把握，到考完跟Miss Sharon对答案觉得还行，再到取得不错的成绩，感觉跟坐过山车似的。最后感谢期间互帮互助的同学们，希望下次大家能躺平，稍微不那么卷一点。

My test results arrived with surprises and shocks. For I was surprised to get an A* in history and was shocked to get only a “B” in EFL. After all, I didn’t expect much grade difference between essay-based subjects. I felt very grateful for my teachers with their support and dedication. Among them, my history teacher gave me a lot of crucial self-study time to construct all the huge mind maps you might have seen on the classroom whiteboards. On the opposite, the physics revision classes were full of interesting physics questions on the whiteboard - which kept me from past-paper revision boredom. As for the EFL, although the results were not satisfactory, I still wrote some good essays with the guidance of Mr. David during the revision week. I appreciate to have experienced the art of English language with him. Personally, I wasn’t quite satisfied by my AS mathematics score, even though it is an a-grade. Nevertheless, thanks to the help from Mr. Wang and Mr. Tang. AS chemistry was a roller coaster one: at first, I did not have much confidence to do well in the final exam, but with Miss Sharon’s support, the result was satisfactory. Finally, I would like to thank my classmates for helping each other out. I hope that next time we can do well without getting too much stressed [lol].

特别的疫情年特别的机遇来到这个崭新的学校，周边勤奋上进的同学们，激发我好好学习的动力。考试做到踏踏实实努力，轻轻松松面对，只要记住快乐和知识点。  

This is a special year and  opportunity to be in this new school. The students here are very hardworking, which inspired me to work hard. As long as you do revision and past papers before the exam, you would likely receive a good grade.

我想借此机会感谢我的同学、朋友、老师和家人。没有他们，我永远无法获得我现在取得的这些成绩，特别是在学术方面取得的成绩。老实说，我从没想过自己会达到这样的成绩，但只要努力和付出，一个人可以取得任何成就。进入厦门华锐莱普顿学校，我对自己有很高的期望，达到这个标准是我个人的目标。我希望未来的任何人都可以遵循这种心态，这真的很有帮助。

I would like to take this opportunity to thank my classmates, friends, teachers, and families. Without them, I would never have been able to get the grades that I did, and without them, I wouldn’t be where I am academically today. To be honest, I never expected myself to achieve these types of grades, but with hard work and dedication a person can achieve anything. Coming into Chiway Repton School Xiamen, I had very high expectations set for myself, and it was my own personal goal to get to that standard. I hope anyone in the future can follow this mindset, it will really help.

这次考试绝大部分的科目都没考差。很多科都是差一点点就A星了，要是之前没那么懒更努力了一些也许就能考好一点。但是能考到这样的成绩少不了各科的老师的帮助和指导，还有我的班主任张老师和学部主任唐主任一直以来的鼓励与支持。这次考试的成绩我还算满意的，没有原本想象的那么差。接下来的两年要更加努力，考出一个理想的成绩!

In this exam, my scores were not bad, and I was very close to get A stars in some subjects. If I had not been so lazy and had worked harder, I could have been able to do better in the exam. However, the help and guidance of teachers in all subjects are indispensable to achieve such a score, as well as the encouragement and support of my HRT Ms. Zhang and Divisional Director Mr. Tang. I'm fairly satisfied with the results of this exam, not as bad as I originally thought. Working harder in the next two years will get me an ideal result!

这是对我学习和努力的认可，也激励我在未来的考试中做得更好——特别是在数学方面。这非常令人惊讶因为这是一个我不太擅长的科目，但是感谢学校和老师们的支持。我会尽我最大的努力在不同的领域提高自己。

This is a strong endorsement of my studies and effort, and it motivates me to do better in future exams -- especially in math. It was very surprising because it was a subject which I was not very good at, but thanks to the school and the teachers for their support. I will also try my best to improve myself in different areas.

这次考试我发挥的不错，把自己擅长的学科都把握住了，不擅长的学科也没有失分严重。但是我的英语依旧是自己的薄弱处，所以在下学期我会花费更多的时间加强自己的英语能力同时继续努力学习新的知识，将自己的长处发挥到位并且弥补自己的短处。

I did a good job in this exam. I achieved satisfactory scores in all subjects I am good at, and I did not lose many points in the subjects I am not good at. But my English is still my Achilles' heel, so in the next semester, I will spend more time strengthening my English skills and continue to work hard to learn new knowledge. I plan to strengthen my strengths and make up for my weaknesses.

在这次的国际考中，我突破了自己一直以来存在的桎梏，取得了巨大的进步。理科科目曾经一直是我的薄弱学科，但是经过我的不懈努力，在三个理科上都取得了长足的进步。成绩只代表过去，但将成为我继续向上攀登的动力，我也会在今后的学习生活中保持热情，再接再厉。

In this international examination, I had a break-through and made great progress. Science subjects have always been my weak ones; however, through unremitting efforts, I scored high in all three science subjects. Although achievement only represents the past, it will motivate me to continue working hard towards more accomplishments.

考试成绩出来前我抓耳挠腮、辗转反侧、彻夜未眠；考试成绩出来后我心满意足、喜上眉梢、酣然入梦。这次考试让我总结出了一个道理：有努力就会有收获。此外，懂得狠狠地相信自己以及拥有一个佛系的心态太重要了。

Before the results were out, I couldn’t sleep and my anxiety had gone through the roof; after the results were out, I was on cloud nine and I can finally sleep at night. This journey had taught me that hard work always pays off. Also, trusting yourself and having a peaceful mind is way too important.

拿到这个成绩是意料之中。题目做的太少了，还有很大的提升空间，要更加努力才行。

This result is not far from my expectation. Due to the lack of exercises, there is still lot of space for improvement; more hard work is needed.

非常感谢这四个月来我朋友的鼓励，陪伴我度过了最艰难的一年，没有他们我可能也不会坚持下来并且拿到这个成绩。感谢我妈妈在我因为心态原因想要学年中临时转学的时候无条件支持我，开导我。感谢老师们。感谢我自己没有放弃。

Thanks for all the encouragement and accompany from my friends as they helped me to go through the toughest year in my life; without them, I think I wouldn’t be able to persist and achieve this result. Thanks to all the support from my mom when I decided to transfer to Chiway Repton School Xiamen. Thanks to all the teachers. Finally, thanks to myself for my own perseverance.

首先，我想要感谢我的家人，老师和朋友们这一路以来给予我的支持与鼓励。感谢他们在我需要的时候总能帮助我解决难题，度过难关。第二，不管是从单项还是总体来说，我都比较不满意，接下来的十月份也会安排补考来提高成绩。希望自己将来可以考到一个好成绩。

Firstly, I want to thank my family, teachers, and friends for supporting and encouraging me during this period. Thank you for helping me solve problems when I needed them. Secondly, I am not satisfied with my grades, neither individual subjects nor the overall score. I am going to arrange make-up exams in October to improve my grades. Hope I could get a good result.
