BTEC，作为一个衔接艺术与设计领域的课程，在日常学习过程中，学生们需要在实践中不断探索，拓展自己的创作边界，延展自身的创作能力和视觉表达能力。为此，开学之初，为了打开思路，学生们在老师的带领下，带着自己的研究课题来到厦门红点设计博物馆寻找灵感，通过实地调研、动手实践、用英文写作并进行演讲与作品展示等形式进入了一个项目的开始阶段。

BTEC, as a course connecting the fields of art and design, requires students to constantly explore in practice, expand their creative boundaries, and extend their creative ability and visual expression ability in the daily learning process. Therefore, at the beginning of the semester, students came to Xiamen Red Dot Design Museum with their own research projects under the leadership of teachers to seek inspiration. They entered the beginning stage of a project through field research, hands-on practice, writing in English, giving speeches and exhibiting works.

A solar-powered lamp could also alleviate the water shortage crisis? What does the mechanical principle of creating clothes have to do with my clothing design? What inspired my design for a humidifier that doesn't require electricity? How does a package, a customizable product inspire my toy design? What is the effect of a mouse and a keyboard on me? Ask questions about top design products, use others' designs to inspire your own, see exhibitions, read, explore the technological and socio-cultural context, and see what the students have found.

这是一个利用太阳能发电的灯，它不仅能够发电，还会从底端落下水滴。这个设计对于干旱或者资源缺乏落后的地区有着极大的帮助，不但可以减少能源消耗，还可以缓解缺水的危机。同时灯最基本的照明功能它也具备。这个设计正好与我们BTEC近期的主题相关——“呼吁减少能源污染”。我认为它既是一个设计，也是一个发明，将美观与实用集于一体。它启发了我，我想我也可以利用可再生能源或者新能源设计产品，从而减少能源消耗。我意识到一个好的设计不仅仅要外表美观，更重要的是其丰富的内在，只有这样才能如虎添翼帮助更多的人。

This is a solar-powered lamp that not only generates electricity, but also drops water from the bottom. This design is of great help to arid or resource-deficient and backward areas, which can not only reduce energy consumption, but also alleviate the crisis of water shortage. At the same time, the lamp has the most basic lighting function. This design is in line with our recent theme at BTEC - "A call to reduce energy pollution". I see it as both a design and an invention that combines beauty with utility. It inspired me to think that I could also design products using renewable or new energy sources to reduce energy consumption. I realized that a good design should not only be beautiful in appearance, but also rich in interior. Only in this way can it help more people.

这件犹如雕塑般的服装是利用机械原理创造出来的，给人感觉柔软、轻盈而透气。它既有布料的柔美，又有机械的科技感。3D的设计主要是由鱼骨结构和弹性面料组成的，可以有很多种穿着方式，具有多重耐磨性，这些都促进了它的可持续发展。这与我近期研究的服装设计有所关联，设计师利用蓝白绿的渐变，创造出水流的波动，亦或是科技的多样，给我眼前一亮的感觉。

The sculptural garment was mechanically created to feel soft, light and breathable. It has the softness of fabric, but also a mechanical sense of technology. The 3D design is mainly composed of fishbone structure and elastic fabric, which can be worn in many ways and has multiple wear resistance, all of which promote its sustainable development. This is related to my recent research on fashion design. Designers use the gradual change of blue, white and green to create the fluctuation of water flow, or the diversity of technology, which gives me a bright feeling. 

这是一款不需要电的加湿器，只需往里面倒水，就可以产生水分。它是由粗陶制作而成的，水分可以从粗陶间缝隙大的孔隙渗出。这款加湿器适用于学校或者寺庙等空间比较大的场所。这件产品带给我灵感，因为我正在创作的作品中有一部分是需要渗透气体的，所以我想或许我也可以在容器上戳上几个小孔，然后让气体更加自然的流出来。

It's a humidifier that doesn't need electricity. You just pour water into it and it creates moisture. It is made of coarse pottery, and water can seep through the large pores between the coarse pottery. This humidifier is suitable for large spaces such as schools or temples. I was inspired by this product because part of the work I was working on needed to permeate the gas, so I thought maybe I could poke a few holes in the container and let the gas flow out more naturally.

不同与其它的饮料分配机，这款饮料分配机是挂在天花板上的。它的外观是哑光的白色，由玻璃、水泥和不锈钢的材质构成。所有的系统都隐藏在主机里面，看上去简洁大气。与此同时，它还使用了超声波检测，可以使人们拥有更好的智能体验。我被它简洁大方的外观所吸引，事实上我也喜欢在自己的作品设计中使用几何体。

Unlike other beverage dispensers, this one is hung from the ceiling. It is a matte white finish made of glass, cement and stainless steel. All the systems are hidden inside the main engine, which looks simple and atmospheric. At the same time, it also uses ultrasound detection, which can make people have a better intelligent experience. I was attracted by its simple and elegant appearance, and I actually like to use geometry in my own design.

我很喜欢这个包装上的流行色和饱和色，它为整个产品增加了很多价值。颜色的放置也使产品非常吸引人。它启发我在玩具设计中加入非常迷人的色彩。

I really like how pop and saturated the colors are on this package, it adds so much value to the overall product. The placement of the color also makes the product very appealing. It inspired me to include very engaging colors to my toy design.

我也很喜欢这件产品的可定制性，它增加了产品的个人归属感。也许我也可以将这个元素添加到我的玩具设计中，通过增加更多的功能来满足观众的需求，使其可以自由调整。

I really love how customizable the product is, it adds a sense of personal belonging to the product. Perhaps I can add this element to my toy by making it adjustable by being able to add more features to fit the audience’s needs?

这个产品看上去是多么的复杂，它堆叠起来像一根竹子，与颜色和包装配合起来，非常有吸引力。我很欣赏它将中国文化与艺术和自然都融入到了产品中。它启发了我，将来如果我为我的玩具设计包装时，我也会围绕玩具本身来创造包装，并在包装上展示我的玩具最吸引人的特征。

What I love about this product is how intricate this product is, the ability it has to stack to look like a bamboo, the colors, the package, they all fit together and make the product very attractive. It also incorporates Chinese style, art, and nature in one product. This product inspired me that if I were to make a package for my toy, I would shape my package around my toy and show the most attractive feature the toy has on the packaging.

煤炭和石油的开采产生大量的二氧化碳，导致海平面上升，这个海洋共同体在未来可以真正有用，它可以很好地利用风能，水和太阳能，这样就不会造成更多的污染。我喜欢这个想法，对我目前的创作很有启发。

The extraction of coal and oil produces a lot of carbon dioxide, which causes the sea level to rise, this maritime community can be really useful in the future, it can make good use of wind, water and solar energy, so as not to cause more pollution. I love this idea and it's very inspiring for my current work.

我也很喜欢这个风亭，它的设计概念给我带来灵感。风亭能够非常好的节约能源，可以回收自然能源，减少煤炭和石油的使用，对打造可持续发展的城市很有帮助。

I also like this wind pavilion very much, its design concept brings me inspiration. Wind pavilions are great energy savers. They can recycle natural energy, reduce the use of coal and oil, and help create sustainable cities.

作为一个经常使用鼠标的人，当我看到这件产品时，马上就联想到了苹果品牌的那款白色鼠标。苹果公司设计的鼠标造型简洁平整，而这款鼠标在平整的基础上还加入了曲线的变化。从形式上来看，这两款鼠标都在追求简约的设计风格，但我认为苹果款不大适合我的手腕，长时间使用会感觉酸痛，现在看到了tinkpad公司的鼠标产品，感觉很适合我，以后就选择它了。

As a mouse user, when I saw this product, I immediately thought of the white mouse of Apple brand. Apple designed the mouse to be simple and flat, and this mouse also added curve changes on the basis of flat. In terms of form, these two mice both pursue simple design style, but I think the Apple model is not suitable for my wrist, and it will feel sore after long use. Now I have seen the mouse product of TinkPad company, and I think it is suitable for me, so I will choose it from now on.

这是一件我看到就想马上购买的产品，它的设计理念很符合我打字时的动作习惯。看着它，我似乎可以感受到打字时的舒适度，那该是多么的放松呀。但是我认为这款产品的设计还可以进行改进，如果能在键盘上多加入一些颜色，或者在材质和轴体上多加入一些选项，或许会更受年轻人的喜欢。

This is a product I see and want to buy right away, and its design concept fits my typing habits. Looking at it, I seem to be able to feel the comfort of typing, how relaxing it should be. But I think the design of this product could be improved. If more colors were added to the keyboard, or more options were added to the material and axle body, it might be more popular with young people.
