“The
limits of my language mean the limits of my world.” — Ludwig Wittgenstein. The
language department for the Middle Year Program (MYP) is composed of two groups
for each grade this year. The language acquisition group in MYP1 is currently
working on vocabulary and phrases about daily routines activities. Students are
developing language skills on routine schedule and timetables and the positive
and negative influence that they have in their educational, emotional, and
physical aspects of their lives. On the other hand, learners in literature
classes are developing their analytical skills through identifying and examining
how environments, places and time affect individuals’ decision making.

MYP2 pupils in language acquisition are familiarizing with roles and functions
of literature circles. Discussions are generated to assess their understanding
and it will take better shape in the next 3 lessons. Exciting, isn’t it?Conversely, the literature cohort is diving deeply in the essence and elements
of communication, how it affects our interactions with our families, friends,
classmates, teachers, and other individuals in our daily lives.

Finally, MYP 3 students are exploring how different folkloric expressions, from their own and other cultures, influence the development of their identity.
