在本周的周晨会上，学术副校长Clem先生向大家宣布了一个好消息——12年级Steven L同学获得了John Locke Institute论文竞赛的哲学类论文“Very High Commendations”评级。John Locke Institute论文竞赛是世界顶级的学术竞赛之一，参赛者都是全世界范围内具有优秀思维能力的中学生，来自世界各地的优秀学校，如：英国伊顿公学（Eton College）、圣保罗学校（St Paul‘s School）、诺丁汉高中（Nottingham High School）、威斯敏斯特学校（Westminster School）等。

Steven L能够在众多优秀的竞争者中脱颖而出，赢得殊荣，学校在此，对他的成绩表示热烈的祝贺！

At Assembly this week, Mr Clem, Deputy Head Academic, announced that Steven L from Year 12 achieved the "Very High Commendations" for Philosophy Essay in the John Locke Institute, which is one of the world's top academic competition. The participants are middle school students with excellent thinking skills from excellent schools all over the world, including Eton College, St Paul's School, Nottingham High School and Westminster School.

Lucton expresses its warm congratulations to Steven L for standing out from many excellent competitors and winning the honor!

John Locke Institute论文竞赛是由位于英国牛津的独立教育组织John Locke Institute与英国牛津大学、英国白金汉大学、美国普林斯顿大学、美国布朗大学等名校教授合作组织的学术项目。

John Locke Institute鼓励青年人培养那些能够让优秀学生转变为杰出作家的特征：独立思考，知识渊博，推理清晰，批判性分析和说服力的风格。John Locke Institute的论文比赛邀请学生探索学校课程范围之外的一系列具有挑战性并有趣的问题。所有的论文奖项都是由牛津大学的资深学者评选的。

The Essay competition is an academic project organized by the John Locke Institute, an independent educational organization based in Oxford with professors from the University of Oxford, the University of Buckingham, Princeton University, Brown University and so on.

The John Locke Institute encourages young people to cultivate the characteristics that turn good students into great writers: independent thought, depth of knowledge, clear reasoning, critical analysis and persuasive style. The competition can build knowledge, and refine skills of argumentation. It also gives students the chance to have their work assessed by experts. All of essay prizes are judged by senior academics from the University of Oxford.
