Over the past term the chemistry department the usual student experiments continued to inspire them. This term a special project was given to the year 13 students to improve their laboratory skills beyond the scope of requirements. Students were asked to synthesize the essential oil found in pineapples that is used flavor food. We also had an annual crystal growth completion to see who can grow the largest and most interesting crystal.

We are also proud to announce that one of our year 12 Students Cindy X won a bronze medal for chemistry in the very esteemed HOSA- Future Health Professionals competition, that focuses on fields related to healthcare and committed to developing future profession leaders. At the same competition she was awarded for her technique in cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Another student, Sherry S, in year 11 was awarded a silver award in the annual British Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad (BAAO). 

We are proud of these students that show hard work, and passion in the field of science.
