上海莱克顿学校:莱克顿的生物课

上个月,我们12年级和13年级在生物实验室进行了几次实验课程。


为了了解有氧呼吸和无氧呼吸之间的区别,13年级的学生自制了酒酿,这是一种含有被分解消化的米粒和甜味液体的混合物。糯米在酵母菌和其他细菌的作用下发酵,就制成了酒酿。发酵过程持续5天后,所有人就能免费得到一份香甜的饮料。


12年级的学生试图测定影响酶活性的因素。温度和PH是他们一直关注的主要因素。在不同条件下观察淀粉酶后,他们找到了淀粉酶最佳的作用条件。实验结束后,他们还做了一份实验报告。


至于11年级和10年级的学生,他们根据不同的主题进行了小组介绍。10年级的学生研究各种特殊的细胞。整个班级被分成四个小组,每个小组会展示介绍一个特定的细胞。11年级的学生正在研究不同类型的动物行为,他们搜索关于这些行为的例子和能够解释这些行为的信息。最后,他们在这个小组项目中都做得很好。

Last month, our biology lab did several experiments for Year 12 and Year 13. 


In order to know the difference between aerobic respiration and anaerobic respiration, my Year 13 students made their own Jiuniang which consists of a mixture of partially digested rice grains and a sweet liquid.  It is made by fermenting glutinous rice with several yeast and bacteria inside. After 5 days of fermenting,they all get their sweet drink which is a complimentary work.


Year 12 students tried to determine the factors for enzyme activity. Temperature and PH are the main factors they were looking at. After observing amylases under different conditions, they found the optimum conditions for amylases. They also did a lab report after this experiment.


For my Year 11 and Year 10 students, they did a group presentation based on different topics. Year 10 students worked on specialized cells. The whole class was divided into four groups and each group presented a specific cell. Year 11 students were working on different types of animal behavior, they searched information about example and explanation of those behavior. At the end, they all did a great job on this group project.
