本学期的中文学习是充实且令人兴奋的。13年级的学生们正在认真的准备参加剑桥的考试,并积极的参与社会、世界时事的讨论。这些学生已经深入阅读了涵盖诗歌、小说和戏剧的课本内容。现在他们可以写出一篇结构良好的文章,去分析一篇文章的中心思想、发展和艺术表达方式。如果他们想在A2考试中取得优秀的成绩,就需要进行大量的阅读和写作练习,这些努力都会得到认可,并将在最后得到回报。


12年级正专注于学习A Level课程的论文2和论文3部分。我们分析了教学大纲,讨论了取得高分所需的关键点和技巧。我们的论文涵盖了各种各样的主题,包括日常生活模式、健康与健身、就业与失业、技术创新、社会经济发展与环境等方面。我们学习分析需求的方法,然后从新闻、习语中收集证据,以期形成有力的论点来支持我们写作。我们也刚开始进行诗歌文学赏析,内容选自艾青的部分诗歌。一些学生在展示作品时表现出了很好的分析能力,他们也在努力提高自己的技巧。非常期待他们能取得的成就。


在IGCSE阶段,中国古代散文和定向写作一直是我们学习的重点。我们讨论了散文中常常频繁出现的概念性词(文言实词)和结构性词(文言虚词)的用法,并分析了一些中国古代散文所特有的特殊句式。学生可以感知到,自己拥有将这些技巧运用到其他课文中的能力。例如,在学习了几节关于努力学习主题的文章后,他们发现即使是第一次看到类似的课文,他们也更容易理解它的文义。古代汉语散文一直是汉语学习中充满挑战的一部分,很高兴看到学生在这方面建立起信心!

This term has been quite exciting and fulfilling for Chinese study. Year 13 has pressed on their Cambridge test and dedicated themselves into the discussion of current events happening in the society and the world around them. A2 students has dived deep into the content of the set texts which covers poetry, novel and a play. They have managed to develop a very well-structured essay analyzing the themes, development and means of artistic expression in each set text. It requires a lot of reading and writing practices to reach high achievements in A2 and their effort has definitely been recognized and will pay off.


Y12 has mainly focused on the Paper2 and Paper 3 part of the A Level course. We have analysed the syllabus and has discussed the key points and skills needed to achieve high scores. Various topics has been covered in our Paper3 Essay writing which includes aspects of patterns of daily life, health and fitness, employment and unemployment, technology innovation, social and economic development and environment etc. We learn the approaches to analyse the requirements and then collect evidences from news, idioms to develop strong arguments that supports our writing. We have just started poetry literature reviews of some selected poems from AiQing(艾青) , some student has demonstrated good analytical skills while presenting their work and they are also making the effort to sharpen their skills. Very looking forward to what they can achieve!


Ancient Chinese prose and directed writing has been a focus of our learning in IG phase. We have covered the usage of notional(文言实词) and structural words(文言虚词) which are common to frequently seen proses and have analysed some special sentence structures that are unique to ancient Chinese proses. Students has witnessed their ability to apply the skills to other texts, for example after learning several passages about the theme of studying hard, they find it much easier to comprehend similar texts even seeing them for the first time. Ancient Chinese prose has always been a challenging part of Chinese learning and it’s such a pleasure to see students building confidence in that!
