Students at Lucton are always cared for by our teachers because they are in the transition period from child to adult called adolescence. The full boarding life makes them more independent. Students at Lucton also have more leadership and responsibility because of the respect and support from our school. However, from our perspective, they are not only independent and thoughtful "little adults", but also the underage children who need to be protected from harm, abuse and neglect.

孩子的成长过程始终需要时刻的关注和保护。对于未成年人的身心安全保护应当是家庭、社会的头等大事。身心安全保护所提供的关注和帮助,能够保障孩子们免受伤害和忽视,形成一个安全的环境,确保孩子们以一个健康的状态步入成年。其重要性不言而喻。

The growth process of children always requires constant attention and protection. Children can be protected from harm and neglect only when the protection of the physical and mental health of minors become the top priority of the family and society. Therefore, it is important to create a safe and supportive school environment to ensure children have a healthy transition into adulthood.

2020年10月17日,《中华人民共和国未成年人保护法》经过第二次修订,将于2021年6月1日起施行。法律中要求,保护未成年人,应当坚持最有利于未成年人的原则。处理涉及未成年人事项,应当符合下列要求:

(一)给予未成年人特殊、优先保护;

(二)尊重未成年人人格尊严;

(三)保护未成年人隐私权和个人信息;

(四)适应未成年人身心健康发展的规律和特点;

(五)听取未成年人的意见;

(六)保护与教育相结合。

"The Law of the People's Republic of China on the Protection of Minors" on October 17, 2020 was revised for the second time and will come into effect on June 1, 2021. The law requires that the protection of minors should adhere to the principle that is most beneficial to minors. The handling of matters involving minors shall meet the following requirements:


(1) Give special and priority protection to minors;

(2) Respect the dignity of minors;
(3) Protect the privacy and personal information of minors;

(4) Adapt to the rules and characteristics of the physical and mental health of minors;

(5) Listen to the opinions of minors;

(6) Combination of protection and education.

什么是身心安全保护?

What is safeguarding? 

以法律为根本,保护未成年人,莱克顿也在行动。

身心安全保护是一个确保弱势个人和群体得到保护的相关过程的总称。每个人都有潜在的脆弱性,莱克顿重点关注的就是在校学生们。学校指定了三名未成年人保护员——校长Clem Parrish先生、行政副校长林杰女士和生活与学生关爱总监李锐灵女士。未成年人保护员负责关注、保护学生的身心安全与健康,在发现情况时,采取必要、及时的行动以确保学生安全。教职员工发现的任何隐患或反常情况,都须第一时间报告给三位未成年人保护员。

Lucton is taking actions to protect minors at our school based on the law.


What is safeguarding? Safeguarding is the overall term for the process associated with ensuring that vulnerable people and groups are protected. Everybody is potentially vulnerable but today we focus on students at Lucton. There are three Child Protection Officers for our School, Clem Parrish, the Headmaster, and the Deputy Head Boarding, Shirley Li, and Jamie Lin, Deputy Head of Operations. They take the responsibility of safeguarding the physical and mental health of minors and take necessary and timely actions to ensure the safety of students when officers find something wrong. Any potential danger or abnormal situation discovered by our staffs must be reported to the three minor protection officers as soon as possible.

在莱克顿,每一位教职员工都会尽责保护学生,一旦发现异常现象都将及时上报,以便尽早向学生提供帮助。教职员工们定期参与、通过相关的培训和课程,如:由COBIS(Council of British International Schools英国国际学校理事会)认可的适用于国际学校未成年人保护培训课程;《中华人民共和国未成年人保护法》的知识普及课;校园常见心理问题培训……以确保与学生们打交道的老师、职员都能够识别和报告问题,并向学生提供初步的帮助与支持。

At Lucton, every staff will try his best to protect students. Once abnormalities are found, they will promptly report Child Protection Officers to help students as soon as possible. All the staffs regularly participate in and pass relevant training and courses, such as the Child Protection Training Course for International School recognized by the COBIS (Council of British International Schools), training course of “the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Protection of Minors" and training course of common psychological problems on campus, to ensure that all the teachers and staffs who deal with students can identify and report problems and provide students with initial help and support.
