国际课程体验营||户外素质拓展训练

编者按:宏润博源学校国际课程体验营是所有新生必须要参与的项目,为的是在正式开学之前,所有新生可以熟悉校园,老师,课程体系并且熟悉彼此,建立友谊,以便开学后顺利融入和过渡。通过开营第一天的营规讲解,英文课破冰以及晚上的学生干部竞选展示,同学们已经相互有些认识。接下来这两天的素质拓展训练,会帮助同学们迅速加深了解,建立并深化友谊,是学校体验营设计的重要一环。

The Orientation Camp of SHBS is a mandatory program intended for all new students to familiarize themselves with the campus, teachers, curriculum system and each other before the school official starts, and to help them establish friendship so that they can achieve smooth integration and stable transition when school starts.  After attending the session clarifying camp rules on the first day, the ice-breaking English classes in the afternoon and the election meeting for camp leaders in the evening, the students already got to know each other. The outdoor survival training, which is an important part of the orientation camp and lasts for two days, can help kids fast deepen their understanding and further strengthen their friendship.

破冰活动


22日晨会一结束,就看到几位穿着“游美”营服的外国教练在艺术广场等着我们。他们看起来特别有活力。教练和班主任老师带着我们到学校气膜体育馆开展破冰活动。通过抱团,石头剪刀布之王,团队赛车,听指令调整队伍等多项破冰活动之后,大家彼此更加熟悉,也更加放开,敢展示了。因为在不同的活动中,团队被不停地打破和重组,教练引领我们喊出队名和不同的口号,氛围特别高昂热烈,彻底融化了我们的羞怯。

After the early morning P&B session on 22nd, we saw several foreign coaches wearing "YOU MEI"  camp uniforms waiting for us on the art square. They looked so energetic.  Then the coaches and homeroom teachers took us to the school Bubble gymnasium, where we participated in some ice-breaking activities.  After engaging in several activities, such as hugging, Rock-paper-Scissors King, team racing, adjusting team by following instructions, everyone became more familiar with each other, and less reserved, and more willing to show themselves. This was because through various activities, the teams were constantly reformed, and the coaches encouraged us to shout out different team names and slogans,making us excited that our ice-cold shyness was completely melted

Gaga球


破冰活动结束之后,教练将我们分成三组,进行Gaga球团队比拼,且每次挑战的难度都会增加。两队队员挤在一个不大的围场里,可以通过拍嘎嘎球碰到对方队员的小腿部位,将对方队员淘汰。整场游戏,紧张刺激,大家互相攻守之间爆发出一阵阵惊呼和欢笑。

The coaches divided us into three groups for Gaga ball, with each challenge becoming more difficult. The two teams were packed into a small paddock and could knock the opposing team out by hitting the ball in the calf. Excited and stressed throughout the game, we burst into cheers and laughter while attacking each other and defending ourselves. 




Gaga球结束之后,课间休息时间,一位同学觉得好玩,请老师播放了《酒醉的蝴蝶》,Era同学听到之后,开始和着音乐跳起来,好几位教练和同学也跟着Era同学跳起来,青春版的广场舞引来大家的围观和参与,欢乐不断。

During the break, thinking it would be fun, one student asked a teacher to play the song “Drunken Butterfly”. Hearing the melody, Era danced to it , and then several coaches and boys also joined her. Those square dancing youngsters attracted us to watch and share their happiness.

抢旗游戏


之后教练带着我们玩抢旗游戏,这是一项在美国比较流行的游戏。两支队伍进行PK,每一方都有自己守护的大本营和关押对方队员的监狱,是一项考验团队合作,策略,勇气以及奔跑速度的游戏。满场的奔跑,追逐,惊呼和喊叫,虽然有些累,但是大家都很投入,很开心。

Then the coaches explained the rules of capturing the flag, which is a popular game in America.  Two teams compete against each other, each with its own camp and prison, It is a game requiring teamwork, strategy, courage and running speed.  Though we were exhausted because of running and chasing all over the gym, and screaming and shouting,  we were very dedicated to the game and felt happy.



上午的活动结束之后,教练让我们围坐在一起,去思考在活动过程中发现的同学们的优点,并且提名表彰一些最能代表帮助(Service),毅力(Perseverance),尊重(respect),耐心(Patience) 和 友爱(Friendship)的同学,并且要分享理由。同学们相互提名表彰,被表彰的同学获得代表相应价值观的手环。被提名的同学和提名的同学之间的友情进一步深化,集体感进一步增强。

At the end of the morning activities, the coaches asked us to sit around and think about the best qualities we had found in each other during the activities, and to name and honor some of the best examples of Service, Perseverance, Respect, Patience, and Friendship and tell why. Students nominated each other for recognition, and those who were honored were given bracelets representing corresponding values. Thus, the friendship between the nominated students and the nominated students got further deepened, and the sense of community was further strengthened.

制作弓箭



午休之后,教练带着我们用竹木条和绳子制作了弓,我们都对自己的作品挺满意的。在测试弓的射程的时候,教练们让我们把他们当靶子,射中他们就得分。同学们也玩地很开心。不管射不射地远,拉弓如满月的气势和姿势,大家做地都还是很到位的。

After the lunch break, the coaches showed us how to make bows with bamboo sticks and ropes. We were all quite satisfied with our work.  While testing the bow, the instructors told us to use them as targets and score points if we hit them.  The students also had a good time.  No matter how far they shot, they pulled their bow like a full moon and their postures were all in place.

搭建竹筏

弓箭测试之后,教练带领我们来到学校码头,教会我们三种打绳结的方法,让我们进行小组合作,一起用竹竿和泡沫桶来扎竹筏。每个组只有20min的时间,扎好竹筏之后,大家轮番坐在竹筏上下水测试。教练让四个男生一起坐在竹筏上,达到竹筏的最大承重,远远看去,大家像直接坐在水面上。返程的时候,有些同学在上岸时,不小心失去平衡掉在水里,还有些同学是故意跳进水里。因为有救生衣还有教练护航,大家知道很安全,掉在水里也很欢乐。夕阳照着湖面,也映衬着划向远处的同学,真的是好美的画面。

After the archery test, the coach led us to the school pier and taught us three ways to tie knots. We were asked to work together in groups to make bamboo rafts with bamboo poles and foam barrels. Each group had only 20 minutes to make the raft and then test it on the lake. The coach asked four boys to sit on the raft together, i.e., the maximum weight capacity of the raft. The barrels were pushed so low into the water that it seemed that the boys were directly sitting on the water. When landing, some students lost their balance and fell into the water, while others deliberately jumped into the water. Because of the lifejackets and the coaches, we knew it was safe and felt fun to fall into the water. The setting sun shone on the lake, on which some students were rowing to the distance. What a beautiful scene!

篝火晚会


晚上,我们围坐在一起举行了篝火晚会,在反思和表扬提名中,有些同学感谢刚认识的新朋友,还忍不住落泪了。那天还有人过生日,我们都送上了生日祝福。学长率先带头为我们演唱了一曲,接下来一发不可收拾,大家纷纷临场表演节目。有专门取来吉他弹唱的,有唱Rap的,有唱美国乡村民谣的等等。最后,教练带给我们特色的“学我唱”的挑战,还教我们烤棉花糖,做棉花糖三明治,感觉很棒。

At night, we had a campfire party. To start with, we had our reflection and nomination ritual, during which some students thanked their new friends and one even could not help crying. Then, one of the upperclassmen took the lead in singing, and then, one after another, many students began to perform. Someone fetched his guitar from his dorm and began to play, some presented Rap, others presented American folk songs and so on. In the end, the coaches gave us a “Sing after Me” challenge, and also taught us how to roast marshmallows and make marshmallow sandwiches. It was such a wonderful night.




23日一早,大家到国旗下面集合,一起唱着国歌进行升旗仪式。看着国旗冉冉上升,在大家激昂的歌声中,爱国之情油然而生。

On the early morning of 23rd, we all gathered under the national flag pole and sang the national anthem for the flag-raising ceremony. Watching the national flag rising and singing the national anthem, we were all so moved and touched by a sense of patriotism.

生存手环



之后教练教我们做了生存手环,使用搭扣和绳子,制作一个手环放在身上。如遇到生存挑战,这根手环可以被轻易地拆开,变成一条结实的长绳,非常实用。

Then the coach taught us how to make survival bracelets: using buckles and rope to make a bracelet to put on the wrist. In the case of a survival challenge, the bracelet can be easily disassembled and turned into a long, strong rope, which can be very useful.


不过重头戏还在后面,教练将我们分成了两组,每组每个同学的手上都有一根绳子连在中央的一个环上,环上放了个网球。我们需要所有人同时拉直手里的线,保持网球不掉,并且按照规定的路线运送网球。在这个过程中,团队需要沟通合作,上下突然看起来很窄的楼梯。在这过程中有人不太熟练,也发生了一些争吵,天气很热,所有人都满头大汗,但在我们的不断努力下,我们还是顺利地经过了两个楼梯,图书馆,许多楼道和食堂,回到出发点。这次的游戏有效地锻炼了我们的团队协作能力和沟通能力。

Yet, this was not the highlight yet. Then, the coach divided us into two groups. Each student in a group needed to hold tight one piece of string, which was tied to a ring at the other end and the ring in the middle should be kept horizontal so that the tennis ball on it would not fall off. To finish the challenge, team members needed to communicate and collaborate, going up and down stairs that suddenly seemed narrow. In this process, some were not very skillful and caused some arguments. It was very hot and everyone was sweating, but we successfully finished the challenge, passing through two flights of stairs, the library, the canteen, and then back to the starting point. This game challenged our teamwork and communication skills.

制箭


下午,教练把我们分成了六个小队,每个小队选出一名队长,并且拿到了一张地图和一个指南针。地图上有7个地点,每个地点有一支被藏起来的箭。找到箭之后还要完成一场游戏挑战,才算通关。我们都完成地很不错,可是有些同学把箭拿走或者转移地点,让之后的队伍不好找。总结的时候,教练说这个游戏变得不公平,所以没有人胜出。这让我们认识到了公平竞争的重要性。

In the afternoon, the coach divided us into six teams. Each team chose a leader and got a map and a compass. There were 7 locations on the map, and in each location was a hidden arrow. After finding the arrow, each team needed to succeed in a game challenge. We all did a good job, but some students took away the arrows or moved them to a different location, making it difficult to find for other teams. When wrapping up, the coach said that the game had become unfair, so no one had won. This reminds us of the importance of fairness in competition.


最后,我们在体育馆进行了攻防箭比拼,用的是教练发的箭和弓,看起来非常专业。因为同学们不是专业人员,所以很多人的准度都不是很高,但是所有人都玩的很开心。看到教练时不时的精彩操作,场下观众充满了掌声。这个游戏不仅锻炼身体,还增加了队友之间的默契。

Finally, we had an archery fight in the gym, using more professional arrows and bows distributed by the coach. Yet since we were not professional, we could not aim very well, but all of us had a good time. Our coaches’ wonderful performances amazed us all. This game did not only exercise our body, but also increased the tacit understanding among teammates.

总之,这几天我们所有人都玩地很开心,互相交了朋友,认识了老师,熟悉了学校的节奏。希望在之后的三年里面我们依然这样和谐相处,有矛盾就化解,把朋友的关系不断促进,在这所学校学习的道路上越走越顺利。最后想感谢学校的精心安排,也感谢游美的教练们。

To cap up, all of us had a good time in these two days. We made friends with each other, got to know the teachers and got familiar with the pace of the school. I hope that in the next three years, we can still get along well with each other and dissolve all conflicts through communication, and constantly deepen the relationship between friends, so that we all can grow well here. Finally, I also would like to thank our teachers, the school, and the coaches of Youmei camping.
