莱克顿的物理课2022

本学期物理专业十年级的学生学习了全球能源的用途和优劣势,研究的能源包括太阳能、风能、核能和水电能。

我们了解到波可以用来传递能量和信息。波在传递信息方面的应用之一是移动电话通信和无线电传输。关于信息传输,学生们对电视信号接收是如何发生的以及为什么群山环绕的城镇电视信号很差感到非常有趣。

十一年级的物理课上,学生学习了发电、输电和配电。除此之外还学习了有关家庭用电的简单概念,即如何确定电费,在家用电时的注意事项,最后是核物理。

十二年级的物理课开始学习电流和直流电路。接下来是对振荡的研究以及它们在我们日常生活中的应用:汽车中设计减震器的机制以使乘客平稳行驶;地震发生时建筑物和其他结构为何会破裂和倒塌;太阳镜设计背后的物理概念如何保护我们的眼睛免受非常强烈的阳光照射。

十三年级学生热传导和理想气体理论以及核能。在研究热传递的过程中,学生们能够学习如何将温度变化的物理条件建模为微分方程,这正是制冷和供暖系统(如冰箱和空调系统)设计背后的理念。此外学生们还了解了核能是如何释放的以及我们如何将释放的能量用于发电。

最后从下面的图片可以看出,我们的课程的特点是学生积极参与,通过实验实践理论。

化“知识为实践”

This term year 10 physics students studied about global energy resources, their uses, advantages as well as disadvantages. Some of the energy resources studied include solar energy, wind energy, nuclear energy, and hydroelectricity. We also learnt that waves can be used to transfer energy and information. One of the applications of waves in transferring information is mobile phone communication and radio transmission. About information transfer, students were very amused at how TV signal reception is takes place and why towns and cities surrounded by mountains have poor television signals.

For Y11 physics class, our students have studied generation of electricity, transmission, and distribution. In addition to this, students were able to learn simple concepts about domestic electricity that is, how electricity bill is determined, precautions when using electricity at homes, finally nuclear physics.

Our Y12 physics class was able to study electric current and direct current (D.C.) circuits. This was followed by study of oscillations and how they are applied in our daily lives. Students were able to learn the mechanism used to design shock absorbers in our cars to give passengers a smooth ride. They were also able to learn why buildings and other structures crack and collapse when an earthquake takes place. Further, Y12 physics students were able to learn the physical concept behind the design of sunglasses which can protect our eyes against very bright sunlight.

Our Y13 physics students have been able to study thermal heat transfer and ideal gas theory, and nuclear energy. During the study of thermal heat transfer, students were able to learn how physical conditions of temperature change can be modelled into differential equations which is the very idea behind the design of cooling and heating systems such refrigerators and air conditioning systems. Further, the students learnt about how nuclear energy is released and how we can use the energy released to generator electricity.

In conclusion, I would like to point out that our classes are characterised by active participation of students and practising theory through experiments as can be seen from the pictures that follow.
