对于Y10的大部分学生而言,这是他们第一次接触IGCSE课程,也是第一次接触全英数学教材,怎样记忆大量的数学专业词汇,怎样将国际教材的知识点与国内教材的知识点联系起来,对他们而言无疑是一种挑战。但是让我高兴的是,Y10的学生们对数学学科表现出了极大的探索兴趣,在课堂上他们积极讨论,在课后认真完成作业。
这个学期对于Y11的学生们来说非常关键,他们即将在这一个学期完成IGCSE数学课程的大部分内容,并在下学期针对四个主题:数字、代数、几何和概率统计进行复习,为IGCSE的夏季大考做好准备,我也会在新课的教学过程中穿插对旧知识的复习,帮助他们做好大考的准备。
For most of Y10 students, this is their first time to learn IGCSE courses, and also the first time to learn English math textbooks. It is undoubtedly a challenge for them to learn how to memorize a large number of math vocabulary, and how to connect the knowledge of international textbooks with those of domestic textbooks. But to my delight, Y10 students showed great interest in exploring mathematics. They discussed it actively in class and completed their homework carefully after class.
This is a crucial term for Y11 students, who will be completing the majority of their IGCSE mathematics course this term and focusing on four topics next term: Numbers, algebra, geometry and probability statistics. They must prepare for the IGCSE summer exam. I will also intersperse the teaching process of new classes with the review of old knowledge to help them get ready for the IGCSE exam.

Y12的数学课绝不仅仅是数学知识的传递,而是一场思维的碰撞。在课堂上,对于同一个问题,我们往往会鼓励不同的思路和不同的解法。在激烈的讨论和友好的分享中,同学们可以在课堂上高效的思考,快速的演练。
对学生来说,这是一个不断动态的学习过程。他们有时小组讨论,有时上台展示,有时独立思考,有时同桌分享。根据不同的教学内容,我们采取不同的教学方法,时而以老师为中心,时而转向以学生为中心,最终营造以学习为中心的课堂氛围。在这个氛围里,所有人都沉醉其中,共同畅游在这片数学的海洋。
Y12 Maths lesson is never just a transfer of mathematical knowledge but a collision of thoughts. Different ideas and different solutions to the same problem are often encouraged in the classroom, where students can think efficiently and rehearse quickly in the midst of intense discussion and friendly sharing.
It’s a constantly dynamic learning process for students. They sometimes discuss in groups, sometimes present on stage, sometimes think independently, sometimes share at tables. In this dynamic learning process, according to different teaching contents, we adopt different teaching methods, sometimes teacher centered, sometimes student centered, and finally create a learning centered classroom atmosphere. In this atmosphere, everyone is fully concentrated and immersed in mathematical knowledge.

新的学期在繁忙的且炎热的八月开始了。这学期的Y12与Y13刚度过三个月的疫情封城以及线上考试,心里或多或少有一些失落和忐忑,但是他们的学习态度还是一样的好,这让我非常感动,我相信,在新的学年里,我们莱克顿全体师生,一定能共同协作,努力再创成绩上的辉煌。
The new semester started on a busy and hot August day. This semester, the twelfth and thirteenth grades have just spent three months of epidemic closure and online exams, and they are more or less lost and apprehensive in their hearts, but their learning attitude is still as good as ever, which makes me very touched. I believe that in the new school year, all of our teachers and students in Lucton will be able to work together and try to create success again!

本学年第一学期已拉开帷幕,这是我们学年中最短的一个学期。我们一般都会在前期努力学习尽可能多的知识。
在Y13数学课程中,我们学习了有关A2数学和统计学。整整三周的课程,包含的9个章节中,涵盖了函数、二项式展开和三角函数。
除此之外,我们还将研究如何使用不同的资源来实施我们的课程,以便在本学期结束前有一个高效率的复习课程。学生在课堂中表现良好,并承诺在本学期做到最好,以便在第二学期有相当多的时间来研究并开始第二部分,这也是最重要的部分,即统计学。我期待在我的班级呈现多样化的学习技巧,并通过课堂作业、复习过往试题真题,解决挑战性问题来进一步观察个人表现,这将帮助学生发展更好的数学应用技能。
The first term of this academic year is kicked off already. It is one of the shortest terms in our academic calendar but we have generally been on the front foot to try and learn as much knowledge as possible.
During our class sessions with Y13 mathematics, we will basically study about A2 pure and Statistics. It’s been three full weeks of lessons already done and we managed to cover Functions, Binomial Expansion and Trigonometry Functions out of 9 chapters included in pure Maths.
In addition to this we will also look at the different ways to use different board resources to implement in our lesson in order to have a strong review session before the end of this term, learners are doing well in class work and stick to the commitment of doing best during the term, for the second term, we will have considerable amount of time to look through and start the second and most important part that is Statistics, I’ll look forward to deploy diverse learning techniques in my class and to further investigate the individual performance by handing over them class assignments, participation, solving old exam papers and challenging questions, this will help learners develop robust skills in Mathematics.
