英国柏朗思学校位于英国伍斯特郡的柏朗思镇，是一所独立的男女生混合学校，从幼儿园、小学到中学，是英国顶级的K12私立寄宿学校，建校至今已有550年的历史。学校创始人是英国校长公会（HMC）的创始成员，同时也是牛津大学伍斯特学院的创始人。学校声誉斐然且学术卓越，提供双课程体系（IB和A Level），综合实力一直位列英国私立学校前10名，每年有三分之一的毕业生进入世界排名前30的大学，三分之二的毕业生就读于罗素集团大学。

2016年9月，观澜湖国际学校（MHIS）与位于英国的柏朗思学校（Bromsgrove School）正式合作，观澜湖国际学校更名为柏朗思观澜湖学校（BMH）。

基于共同的办学理念，双方全方位精诚合作，涵盖学校管理、教师选聘和专业发展、课程设计、老师和学生的交换项目、运动竞技和大学申请等。双方将通过持续的评估和改进，为学生提供最优质的双语教育。

幼儿园的双语课程融合了东西方教育的最佳实践，包括受瑞吉欧启发的“游戏中学习”教学法，旨在为孩子提供人生中最好的起点。游戏是学习的工具，以最容易接受的方式为孩子提供学习机会。孩子在游戏中学会探索和思考问题。游戏激发创造力，建立信心，帮助孩子学会解决问题并掌握中英双语。研究表明，在游戏中学习可以在社交、情感和学术方面带来更大的成就。

每个班级有两位教师和一位班级助理共同教导、照顾孩子，有助于孩子建立成功的人际关系和强烈的自我意识。

在小学阶段，我们的使命是帮助学生为中学更加严谨的教学做好准备。在幼儿园，学生建立了坚实的双语、双文化基础，在此基础上我们的课程融合了国际知名的剑桥升学课程和严谨的中国义务教育课程的精华。以探究为基础的学习为学生提供了深入探索地理、历史、科学等学科的机会，老师精心设计课堂教学，以学生为主导，培养好奇心，发展高阶思维和研究技能。

英语课由经验丰富的外籍教师教授，使用剑桥全国际英语课程和最佳的21世纪语言习得法。汉语教学由热爱中国语言、文学和文化的双语教师，全方位采用高效教学法和学习策略。数学学科有双语和外籍专业教师，使用北师大数学课程，先用中文教授核心知识，再由外籍教师用英文授课加深概念理解。艺术、科学和体育课程均采用中英双语授课，进一步促进双语学习；信息和计算机科学课程采用全英文授课。最后，表演艺术课程由双语和外籍专业教师合作教学，学生得以发展双语表演艺术才能，为在英国皇家音乐学院（ABRSM）或伦敦戏剧艺术学院（LAMDA）的等级考试中取得优异成绩做好准备。

我校的严谨治学、互动教学帮助学生在小学的期中考和期末统考语文、英语、数学和科学等学科中获得高分，同时也能在剑桥考试的所有学科中取得佳绩。更重要的是，学生逐渐成长为充满自信、富有同情心、善于沟通、承担责任、敢于冒险、热爱思考的人。

从七年级开始，我校将采取与英国柏朗思学校相同的优质英式寄宿制，为学生提供五天制寄宿服务。寄宿有助于我校开展全面发展教育，帮助孩子成长，既能努力学习，也能尽情玩乐，除了严谨的双语学术课程，也有艺术、戏剧、音乐、运动以及老师监督的自习时间。我校的学术课程包括剑桥初中课程和剑桥国际中学教育普通证书课程(IGCSE)，我们将这些课程与中国义务教育课程融合在一起，从而使学生在九年级末的义务教育毕业考试和十年级的IGCSE考试中顺利取得优异成绩，包括艺术、生物、化学、中文、计算机科学、设计与工艺、英语、地理、历史、数学和物理等学科。

中学部的学科老师经验丰富、资历深厚，大部分中外籍老师都拥有研究生学历，学生有各种各样的机会可以参加锻炼领导能力、发展品格，包括学生领导的舍堂制度、学生社团和校本课程。

七到十年级的学生可以参加到丰富多彩的活动，包括模拟联合国、爱丁堡公爵国际青年奖、议会制辩论、奥林匹克数学、奥林匹克科学、世界学者杯、VSTEAM、表演艺术社团展演、计算机科学俱乐部、校运动队以及篮球、足球、网球、排球的专业训练，也有美国职业高尔夫球协会（PGA）学院提供的专业高尔夫训练。

十年级结束后，学生深入大学预科。他们将学习四门剑桥A level课程，可选学科包括：艺术与设计、语文、英语、全球视角、计算机科学、数学、高等数学、生物、化学和物理。在此期间，学生们通过参加爱丁堡公爵国际青年奖、丰富的社团和课外活动来构建个人简历。此外，根据学生目标院校的要求，帮助学生备考SAT、或为牛津剑桥、常青藤大学及其他大学的入学要求做好准备，我校专业的大学预科教学团队将全力支持学生走好大学择校的每一步。

幼儿园每个班班额的最大容量是22个学生，班上配有1位班级老师、1位生活老师，额外每两个班共同配有1位外籍及1位中籍语言教学老师。

中小学每个班班额最大容量为24个学生，实行双班主任制度配有一位外教班主任和一位中籍双语合作教学老师兼任中方班主任。

Our bilingual Pre School programme integrates best practice from East and West and includes Reggio Emilia inspired play-based pedagogy to offer children the best possible start in life. Our mission in the Preparatory School is to prepare our students for the academic rigour of the Senior School. Accordingly, we build on the strong bilingual and bicultural foundations laid thus far by having the students learn in a curriculum which blends the best of the internationally renowned Cambridge Pathway with that of the rigorous Chinese Compulsory Education Curriculum. Inquiry based learning provides students with the opportunity to explore geography, history, science and other subjects in a carefully crafted student led way, which fosters curiosity and develops higher order thinking and research skills. 

English is taught by experienced and well qualified expatriate teachers using Cambridge Global English and the best 21st Century active language learning methodologies. Chinese is taught by passionate bilingual Chinese teachers who have a love for Chinese language, literature and culture using the full range of effective teaching and learning strategies. In Mathematics, blessed with Chinese bilingual and expatriate mathematics specialist teachers, we follow the rigorous Beijing University Mathematics Curriculum and teach this in Chinese first before using and applying and deepening understanding of concepts with mathematics lessons taught in English by our expatriate mathematics teachers. Art, Science and PE are taught in both Chinese and English to further facilitate bilingual language learning whilst IT and Computer Science are taught in English.  Finally, in performing arts students are taught in Chinese and English by bilingual and expatriate specialist teachers allowing students to become bilingual performing artists as they prepare for success in the Associate Board of the Royal College of Music (ABRSM) or London Academy of Drama Arts (LAMDA) examinations.

A result of our academically rigorous and dynamic interactive teaching is that our students enjoy great success in both local mid-term and end of term examinations in Chinese, English, Mathematics and Science and also Cambridge Pathway Examinations in all of their subjects throughout their years in Preparatory School. More importantly they grow in confidence as compassionate, communicative, responsible risk takers and thinkers.

Leadership and healthy competition in all activities is a feature of Preparatory School with our vibrant student-led House System which aims to motivate high standards in all we do whilst celebrating student performance, often with a view to helping those less fortunate than ourselves.

From Senior 7 onwards we provide weekly boarding, replicating in Mission Hills the premier quality of provision to be found in Bromsgrove School UK. This allows us to adopt a holistic approach to students’ development with a ‘work hard play hard’ day which blends rigorous bilingual academic learning together with art, drama, music and sport, as well as supported private study. Our academic curriculum flows along the Cambridge Pathway programme to the Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) programme, all interwoven with the Compulsory Education Curriculum of China so that students are successful in both the end of Senior 9 Compulsory Education graduation examinations as well as, a year later, in their Cambridge IGCSEs in subjects as varied as Art and Design, Biology, Chemistry, Chinese, Computer Science, Drama, English, Geography, History, Mathematics, Music and Physics.

With specialist well qualified and experienced overseas and Chinese teachers in all subjects, most with master’s degrees, Senior School provides students with an array of opportunities for leadership and character development through our student-led house system, societies and co-curricular activities.

Amongst the activities students engage in from Senior 7 to 10 are: Model United Nations, The Duke of Edinburgh International Award, Parliamentary Debating, Maths Olympiad, Science Olympiad, World Scholars Cup, VSTEAM, Performing Arts Society Productions, Computer Science Club, School Sports Teams and Specialist Sports Coaching in Basketball, Football, Tennis, Volleyball and, of course, Golf with the PGA Academy.

After grade 10, students progress into our Sixth Form where they study 4 Cambridge A’ levels from the following options: Art and Design, Biology, Chemistry, Chinese, Computer Science, Drama, English, Further Mathematics , Global Perspectives, Mathematics, Music and Physics. During this time students build their resume by participating in the Duke of Edinburgh International Award, and a rich array of student led societies and co-curricular activities. In addition they prepare for Scholastic Aptitude Tests, Oxbridge, Ivy League and other university entrance requirements as needed for their University Admissions process assisted every step of the way by our dedicated Sixth Form teaching team.

Students begin developing their physical skills from PreSchool and make the most of the resources available to us including our outstanding football pitch, outside play spaces and tennis courts, as well as the surrounding legendary golf courses and PGA US Academy, and MH Sports and Eco Park. Where students are identified as having exceptional sporting talents, they may be identified to join our Elite Performance Programmes.

Coffee Mornings and bi/trilateral parent meetings are held twice a term to share information on the design of the school's curriculum and to enhance communication and collaboration between home and school to better support student development.
