NO.01

On Friday, May 21, 2021, students and teachers from International Department held a math activity <“Shape” The World> on the school field. Teachers from the math department have planned the activity for two months and have made it a project-based learning program in which students can learn 2D shape and 3D objects in a creative way and also practice their hands-on skills through interesting math projects.

大家搓搓小手期盼了两个月的Math Day终于来了！全体国际部的同学和数学组的老师们为此准备了2个月的时间，结合2D和3D图形通过项目式学习来展开这次数学日的活动。

Sessions

There are two main sessions in the activity: Project Display and Math Games. Project Display session showcased every student's authentic project which they created in coherance with what they learned in math class. Game time provided students an opportunity to enjoy math in a fun and physically interactive way.

活动中有两个主要部分：Project Display和Math Games。在作品展示环节，同学们的作品有创意，有新意，充分融合了他们数学课上学习的内容。游戏环节让同学们在游戏中体会数学的乐趣，为学生提供了一种以有趣且充满互动的方式来享受数学的乐趣。

NO.02

At the beginning of the Math Day, students spent 30 minutes to admiring other students' projects. Then they awarded their favorite work with stickers.

在Math Day活动的一开始，学生们用了30分钟时间去互相参观作品，并在自己最喜欢的三个作品贴上贴纸。

NO.03

In order to fully engage students' interests during the math activities, students were encouraged to design their own math day poster. The winning poster became one of the activities for the day: Math coloring.

为了使学生可以充分参与到数学日的每个环节，在准备阶段，老师们组织了数学日Logo的征选活动，评选出最受欢迎的Logo。并根据这个Logo设计出适合各个年龄段参与的游戏：数学着色。老师们在每个颜色板块设置题目，学生解题得到答案并且找到对应颜色进行着色。

After all poster designs were collected, students went to vote for their favorite poster. 

收集完所有海报设计后，学生们会逐一投票选出自己最喜欢的海报。

When it came to the game time, we prepared four game stations: Sudoku, Sensory Path, Hopscotch and Math Coloring. Everyone got game tickets so that they can participate in each game and receive small gifts.

游戏环节，我们准备了四个游戏：Sudoku，Sensory Path，Hopscotch和Math Coloring。每个人都会有游戏门票，这样他们可以打卡每个游戏，并且可以领取小礼品哦～

A sensory path is a series of guided movements for kids to follow, shown by colorful and creative markings on the ground or walls. As students follow the path and complete the movements, they work off excess energy and develop their gross motor skills.

Sensory Path 是一个引导孩子按照特定路径进行趣味运动的游戏，地面上各种颜色的图标与形状会引导孩子一步步完成游戏。这个游戏可以释放小朋友们无处安放的“过盛”精力以及锻炼他们的身体协调能力。

While Math Coloring developed students’ problem-solving skills and drawing skills. It also provided an opportunity for students from different grades to work together and enjoy the time together. 

在数学着色课程中，学生发展了解决问题的能力和绘画技巧。它也为来自不同年级的学生提供了一个一起开动脑筋的机会。

Sudoku is a puzzle game designed for a single player, much like a crossword puzzle. The puzzle itself is nothing more than a grid of little boxes called"cells". They are stacked nine high and nine wide, making 81 cells total.

数独是一种运用纸、笔进行演算的逻辑游戏。玩家需要根据9×9盘面上的已知数字，推理出所有剩余空格的数字，并满足每一行、每一列、每一个粗线宫（3*3）内的数字均含1-9，不重复 。尽管天气比较热，但学生们和参与家长都沉浸其中。

Hopscotch is a popular playground game in which players toss a number card into  a pattern of rectangles outlined on the ground and then hop or jump through the spaces and retrieve the object. The challenge of the game for students to name the corrsponding shapes of the number cards.

跳房子是一种很受欢迎的儿童趣味游戏，小朋友将一个小物体扔到地面上勾勒出的带编号的矩形图案中，然后以跳跃的方式获取该物体。我们“独家”的玩法是要求学生说出对应数字的图形。

Throughout the activity, student volunteers worked together as a wonderful team to give guidance and maintain the orders of each station. In this way, middle school students set the examples for younger students how to take care of others and teach them different skills and knowledge.

在整个活动过程中，学生志愿者作为一个出色的团队努力让这次活动更好，提供帮助并且维护每个游戏点。通过这种方式，高年级的学生为低年级的学生做出了如何照顾别人做榜样，并教会他们不同的技能和知识。

Great Ending

“Shape” the world is an amazing activity in which students enjoyed math and practiced hands-on skills, problem-solving skills and boost spatial intelligence in a creative and interactive way.

“塑造”世界图形活动超级棒！学生可以通过创新和互动的方式享受数学乐趣并练习动手技能，解决问题的能力，提高空间智能。
