On Friday 26 May 2023, all students, parents, teachers and our guests from the Affiliated Foreign Language School of the National Institute of Education Sciences participated in the annual BMH Celebration of the Arts 2023.
The theme of this year's COTA is "What a Wonderful World". The event showcased students' talents in drama, music and art in a variety of ways.
On entry to the campus, our visitors' eyes were caught by the drama video productions prepared by students from all grades with the support from Mr Wills.
Large group performances were showcased at the Atrium, with different classes contributed different songs and dances. African drumming from LAMDA kicked off the show, followed by beautiful singing and dances from all classes.
The Chinese poetry recitals and drama shows from LAMDA added different vibes to the show. The Rock Band, Chamber Orchestra and Choir demonstrated a range of musical talents from our students.
The solo and small group performances at the library have attracted a crowd of visitors too. Drumming, instrumental such as piano, guitar, flute, violin and Guzheng, etc were showcased on the stage, alongside with vocals of singing and bamboo clapping and dance performances.
Our Student Helpers greeted and guided our visitors at the Art Gallery on the 4th Floor of Oak, where visitors were able to view the amazing art works created by our students. Ceramics and metalworks, sketching and painting, blocks and houses were exhibited at the gallery showcasing students' creativity and personality. On the giant canvas placed at the basketball court, students expressed their thoughts and understanding towards the theme "What a Wonderful World".
Our parent friends from Mental Amusement Park have prepared an art therapy workshop for our visitors who were immersed in the state of relaxation, mindfulness and self-awareness through engaging in drama, clay, drawing and flower arrangements. Art is not only the media for self-expression, it is also a means to promote spiritual growth.
Through this annual event, the BMH community celebrated our talents in the arts which bring us to appreciate what a wonderful world in which we are living in.
