Amber是在2020年疫情期间从美高回流的学生。她坦言，“在美国读高中的时候，因为老师不给我们打分，我很难判断自己的学习进度，也不知道自己对知识的掌握程度如何，很难适应这种教学方式。直到我来了深国预，这里不仅和美国高中有相同优势——外籍老师讲课、自由的学术氛围等，更重要的是，小班教学能更好地实现老师对学生关注度的最大化，让我学得更扎实。”

Amber is a returning student from U.S. High School during the pandemic. She said frankly, "When I was in high school in the United States, it was difficult for me to judge my learning progress because the teacher didn't give us grades, and I didn't know how well I mastered the knowledge. After coming to SIFC, Amber's study life has undergone unexpected changes. She has become more willing to communicate with the teachers, because the teachers are always enthusiastic. They not only actively answer Amber's questions, but also get along like friends after class.

申请季里有一个小插曲，Amber不仅收到里海大学的录取Offer，随之而来的，还有里海大学创客项目的邀请函。原来，是Amber多元文化的背景和跨文化思维打动了他们。

There was a small episode in the application season. Amber not only received an admission offer from Lehigh University, but also from the Lehigh University Maker Program. It turned out that Amber's multicultural background and cross-cultural thinking have moved them.

Amber的母亲来自朝鲜族，因此她从小接触韩语和韩国文化。家庭背景和美高学习经历，为她创设了汉语、韩语、英语、西语4种语境，了解不同的民族文化及内涵。

Amber's mother is of Korean ethnicity, so she was exposed to Korean language and culture since she was a child. Her family background and her study experience at American High School have created 4 language contexts for her, including Chinese, Korean, English, and Spanish, to understand different national cultures and connotations.

"When I was abroad, I met friends from European countries, Russia, Japan, South Korea, and Thailand. When I communicated with them, I was often amazed at the collision between different cultures. For example, the West emphasizes the individual, while the East emphasizes the collective. There is no good or bad culture, and cross-cultural communication allows us to learn to respect, tolerate, and avoid conflict.”

在深国预，多元文化和跨文化交流的场景依然存在。全英教学、韩国文学社、西班牙语社等都为跨文化交际提供了很好的机会，无一不为Amber去往更大的舞台打下坚实的语言和思想基础。Amber记得，在去年5月学校组织的研学周活动里，她随老师和同学们一同游历了贵州苗族和侗族地区，感受了以前从来没有接触过的其他少数民族的文化。

At SIFC, the manifestation of a multicultural environment and cross-cultural exchange is everywhere. All English Teaching, Korean Literature Club, Spanish Club, etc. have provided good opportunities for cross-cultural communication, all of which have laid a solid language and ideological foundation for Amber to go to a larger stage. Amber remembers that in the research week organized by the school in May last year, she traveled with her teachers and classmates to the Miao and Dong areas of Guizhou, and experienced the cultures of other ethnic minorities that she had never been exposed to before.
