ISA Insight | 杨红校长:缓解网课焦虑 养出自律品格

Under the epidemic, ISA students have been slow to return to school. During this special period, online classes have become the main way of learning, and students have experienced different classes. However, some parents are still worried about children's poor self-control and low learning efficiency of online classes.  


疫情之下,爱莎学子们虽暂缓了返校的脚步,但“停课不停学”如同一场秋雨洒在爱莎武汉校园的每个角落。在这段特殊的日子里,网课成为主要的居家学习方式,学生们拥有了不一样的课堂,也采撷了别样的收获。然而部分家长提到网课仍是“谈虎色变“,担心孩子自制力差,网课学习效率低等问题。


Ms. Hong Yang, primary principal of ISA Wenhua Wuhan, answered the following questions, hoping to help parents alleviate the anxiety and guide their children to learn efficiently and independently.

What are the reasons that affect students' efficient and autonomous learning during online classes?

1. 网课期间影响学生高效自主学习的原因有哪些?


Theuncertainty of the learning environment and the interaction of the senses canaffect the learning efficiency. Home learning, without the orderly learningenvironment and strong learning atmosphere in the classroom, the non-learningfactors in the indoor environment increased. Additionally, students need fivesenses to work simultaneously in the classroom, and most of the time when theyare online, they only use their visual and auditory senses, and they are easilyfatigued by sitting for a long time, so their learning efficiency will becomelow.


学习环境的不确定性和感官的相互作用都会影响学习效率。居家学习,没有了以往教室里有序的学习环境和浓厚的学习氛围,家庭室内环境中的非学习性因素增多。另外,学生在教室中上课需要五感同时工作,上网课时大多数时间只有听觉和视觉在工作,且久坐易疲劳,学习效率会变低。

2. 网课期间家长为如此焦虑?

In addition to worrying that online classes will affect the learning effect, during the online classes, parents not only assume the responsibility of parents and teachers, and sometimes even assume the multiple roles of nutritionists, medical care and so on, which is very difficult for them. Therefore, parents need to allow themselves to make mistakes in the process of switching roles without forcing themselves to be perfect. Parents also need to accept themselves and allow themselves to have negative emotions.


除了担心网课会影响学习效果外,上网课期间,家长既承担了家长的责任,又扮演了老师的角色,有时甚至承担了孩子的营养师、医护等多重角色,这是非常不容易的。所以,家长要允许自己在角色切换的过程中出现错误,不用强求自己面面俱到。家长也要接纳自己、允许自己有各种各样的负面情绪。

3. 作为家长,如何引导孩子在家自主高效学习?


—Keep up the pace to do addition

   保持节奏做加法


Parentscan help their children make their own daily learning plans to keep up with theteachers’ requirement. At the same time, parents can set up some classroom-likelearning environments at home. 


家长可以协助孩子们自行制定每天的学习计划,让自己跟上网络课堂和老师要求的节奏,同时可以在家中布置一些类似教室的学习环境,例如:和孩子手抄课程表、计划表或自我激励的话语张贴在书桌上,让孩子明确上下课时间和各个时间段的学习任务。



—Subtractingin response to change

   顺应变化做减法


Parents can try to supervise their children and not interfere too much with their children's thinking, because too many prompts will have negative influence on children's independent thinking, which is not conducive to their children's learning and growth. In fact, children's attention is generally maintained for 15 minutes, so parents should be tolerant. The best way is to be in the same room, but each has your own arrangements. When you see your child distracted in class, just give a reminder, and don't shout at him.


家长可以尝试仅仅在旁监督,提醒孩子认真听课,而不要包办孩子的学习,更不要过分干预孩子的思考,尤其不要过多的提示孩子,因为过多的提示会破坏孩子独立思考的能力,反而更加不利于孩子的学习和成长。其实,孩子的注意力一般也就维持15分钟,家长应该宽容对待。最好的做法是共处一室,但各有安排,看到孩子上课走神,给予简单提醒就好,不宜大声呵斥。


—Feynman Technique works efficiently

   “费曼学习”出奇效


Parents can guide their children to use Feynman Technique during online classes to help them better absorb knowledge and improve their learning efficiency. There are four steps.


家长可引导孩子在网课期间使用“费曼学习法”,帮助孩子更好地吸收知识,提高学习效率。可简单分为四步:


1.Setting goals and be clear what you need to know.

第一步制定目标:知道自己要学什么。


2. Impart knowledge to others like a teacher.

第二步尝试输出:像老师一样把这个知识教授给他人。


3. In the process of teaching, find problems and solve them

第三步发现问题:教授他人的过程中不断地查漏补缺。


4. Internalize the knowledge into your own words and explain it again

第四步真正掌握:知识完全吸收后,用自己的语言再次讲解知识。


Parents can play the role of students and children retell the content they have learned. With creating authentic environments, parents can keep track of children’s learning and guide children to solve problems.


网课期间,家长可充当孩子的学生,让孩子把学到的新知讲给自己听,创造真实的情境,及时掌握孩子的学习情况,引导孩子解决问题。
