Book Report of《Treasure Island》

《Treasure Island 》is a novel written by British novelist Robert Louis Stevenson.

The general content is about a British teenager, Jim, who got the legendary treasure island from sailor burns, and organized an expedition to treasure island with the support of the local squire. But He did not know that the pirate leader John Silver took a group of his men to their ship. When arriving at Treasure Island, Jim met Ben, a sailor who had been alone on the desert island for three years, and with the help of the captain and other people, he successfully obtained the treasure.

In this exciting adventure story, my favorite character is Jim Hawkins. Unlike the others in the story, he was not afraid of the captain at the beginning of the journey. During the journey, he came across so many pirates, but even though he was trapped and lonely, he still insisted on justice and fought against evil forces. In the middle of the adventure, he sometimes fought against pirates alone, however, he was undaunted and used his wisdom to win in front of a much stronger island. I admire his thinking ability. His plan for the captain is unimaginable.

In the process of adventure, he used his wisdom, courage and unyielding justice to fight against pirates. Even the pirate Long John Sliver praised him as a real man. His loyalty is quite different from that of the pirates.

Imagine that the life we experience is like this adventure, with countless unknowns, rebellion and beauty. As middle school students whose life is just in the beginning, I do believe that as long as we stick to justice like Jim, we can also reach a treasure island that belongs to us. The fog of life will eventually be pierced by the dazzling light on us. This may be what the author wants to convey to us.

The Reflections Of Treasure Island

Treasure Island is written by a English man Robert Louis Stevenson in 1881. Robert Louis Stevenson was known as one of the greatest writers of the 19th century.

In the beginning of the story, Jim Hawkins's father managed a small pub. And Jim was just a unnoticed waiter in this small pub. But one day, a captain named Long John Silver came to the pub and broke Jim’s ordinary life. The captain always shares many scared stories about his past voyage with others. Later one day, he died because of excessive drinking and shock and Jim found his secret by accident. He knew Long John Sliver was one of sailors with the notorious Capitan Flint and found a map of the treasure Capitan Flint left. As a result, he travelled to look for the treasure with a squire, a doctor and some sailors. However, he knew the real identities of the sailors on this ship by chance. He told the squire. In the following days, Jim’s side had many fights with the pirates.  Finally, after many difficulties, they found the treasure and went back home.

I learnt a lot after reading Treasure Island, especially from the leading character, Jim Hawkins, which was also my favorite character In this book. 

Above all, there is no doubt that he is brave and intelligent. When facing multiple hazards, what he behaved was even better than some adults. He defeated pirates with swords and guns. He is trying to tell us that teenagers can also be courageous and responsible. I can feel the quickly growth of him through the journey. 

Besides, I am moved by Jim’s sprit of keeping his promise. What impresses me most is that he did not go back with the doctor even when he was imprisoned in the pirates’ ship and faced with danger of life, which is just because he promised not to leave with Long John Sliver. From this point, I think he is a man of his word.

To sum up, 《Treasure Island》 is a really good book，which is well worth reading, especially for us young children. Hope you can also take your time to read it and I promise that it will never let you down.

Book Report Of 《Treasure Island》

This summer holiday I read a classical novel《Treasure Island》by Robert Louis Stevenson.I usually read two chapters before going to bed at a time.

This book is an adventure story of pirates to find the buried gold from beginning to the end. A young boy was born in a poor family and he was the leading character, Jim Hawkins. He found a map showing where the terrible pirate Captain Flint hid his treasure. Jim joined Squire Trelawney and Dr Livesey on a journey to find the treasure along with a number of pirates, led by the fearful Long John Silver.

 At the beginning of the story, Jim was an innocent child living in a safe world with his parents. But his father was seriously ill and after his father died. Jim went to search for treasure. They organized a fleet and hired some sailors before they started the journey. But some pirates disguised as sailors and sneaked into the ship, they wanted the treasure as well. They fought wits and bravery with pirates in the lead of captain Smolit and Dr Livesey. This breathtaking adventure tested both his courage and moral. In the end, Jim found the treasure but he also has become a mature young man who chose good over evil and a quiet life over adventure.

I think one of the main themes of the story is Jim Hawkin's growth. Jim’s search for treasure is a metaphor for his search for himself. 

Then speaking of my favorite character, Jim, what I can see from him is that he is brave, resourceful and adventurous. Moreover, under multiple dangerous and risky conditions, he was able to overcome the fear inside him and was courageous enough to fight for the life and treasure. Besides, Jim was good at learning from others as well. He has also been growing through this journey. Therefore, we can learn a lot from him. In addition, I can feel that the lure of money is so strong not only in the novel but also in the real world. Money can unexpectedly change people's feeling, and decision. This tells us that we should use money reasonably and wisely. Last but not least, in my opinion, gorgeous qualities appeared in this story like love, trust, justice, responsibility and courage are what all human beings should have.

As the saying goes, reading a good book is like talking to a noble man. 《Treasure Island》 is such a good book that worth all of us reading. There is no doubt that it will benefit us a lot, especially for our middle school students.

《Treasure Island》读后感

During this summer vacation, I have read a book called《Treasure Island》.This book’s influence to western children is similar to the four classical Chinese novels to Chinese kids. Exactly, this book worth such great praise. 

Above all, 《Treasure Island》 is the story of a boy named Jim who out at sea. Originally, Jim owned an inn, but the inn was in trouble. Jim went to the mayor's house to report to the mayor, but the mayor was about to go to sea, so he took Jim with him. On the way, they met the pirates pretending to be the crew and the crew who defected to the pirates, but Jim and the mayor heroically resisted and eventually won.

While reading this novel, some sentences have left me a deep impression. One of them is that "People are not afraid of defeat, I am afraid crush." This told me that when I have no confidence of doing something, I should believe in myself. It also told me many useful skills that can help me solve problems in life.In my opinion, 《Treasure Island》 is not only a storybook but also a educational book.

Besides, the characters in this story are all very vivid and have their own personalities. Among all of them, I like Jim best. 

When I have finished reading this book, I feel what a wonderful experience the boy Jim owned. In my heart, Jim is a boy which is both brave and intelligent. If I were Jim, I would be scared and nervous to face difficulties. I have never seen such a brave person before. He wasn’t afraid of the pirates and was strong enough to face the problems. Although it is just a novel, the scenes of the novel always appear in my mind. Moreover, It told me a lesson that we can’t be too selfish. Since the selfish one only focuses on himself and money and never cares about others. At the same time, we can see the justice of the spiritual wealth from Jim. 

This is also a special experience for me to read this book. As a saying goes,“no pain ,no gain.” if we try our best to do everything as Jim, I think we will make more progress in many different fields.
