4月7日，在英国文化教育协会（British Council）的邀请下，青苗教育集团CEO John McBryde先生和副CEO Karen O’Connell女士携青苗常营校区师生代表来到英国大使馆官邸进行参观与颁奖仪式。

英国文化教育协会中国区主任包迈岫（Matt Burney）先生为青苗国际双语学校常营校区获奖师生颁发了奖杯，并与五位获奖学生一起分享了参与此次视频竞赛的经验体会，共同讨论了英国在文化、艺术、教育，和应对气候变化方面所开展的工作。

7th April 2021, invited by British Council, BIEG CEO Mr. John McBryde and Deputy CEO Mrs. Karen O’Connell along with a delegation from the BIBS Changying campus visited the British Ambassador’s Residence and attended the awarding ceremony.

Mr. Matt Burney from British Council gave the award to the BIBS Changying delegation, and shared a discussion with 5 award winners on British culture, art, education, and efforts made against climate change etc.

作为英国文化教育协会全球伙伴学校联盟项目的旗舰活动，‘Your World’ Competition 全球学生视频竞赛是来自世界各地的学生发挥创意、互相交流的绝佳机会，也是同学们展现各自独特生活、环境和经历的窗口。通过这一全球性的竞赛活动，学生将展示他们的才华，并与来自世界各地的同龄人同台竞技。

今年‘Your World’ Competition全球学生视频竞赛的主题是“构建更加光明的未来”（Building a Brighter Future），子主题是“可持续的生活方式”（Sustainable Living）和“具有韧性的社区”(Resilient Communities)。此次比赛希望参赛学生基于切身体会，为推动社区长期可持续发展提出积极的行动建议。

As the flagship event of British Council Partner Schools programme, 2021 ‘Your World’ Competition has been a great opportunity for students from all over the world to communicate on their creativity, lifestyle, and environment, and to demonstrate their talent on a world stage.

The topic of this year’s 2021 ‘Your World’ Competition is Building a Brighter Future, and the sub-topics are Sustainable Living and Resilient Communities, which requires the attendees to make positive and practical proposals the sustainable development of community, based on their own life experiences.

青苗学生参赛视频《Making the Future》凭借探寻人类面临的几大健康威胁间的内在联系，号召年轻一代改变生活方式，创造更加可持续发展的未来这一主题，获得了英国文化教育协会评委的一致好评。

说到创作初衷，负责剧本的李佳芮（Angela）介绍说：“自然的过度开发，化石燃料的泛滥使用，不仅导致野生动物栖息大面积被破坏，我们身边的环境也在不断日益恶化。希望通过我们的视频，告诉大家可以选择更环保的生活方式，比如减少食物浪费或使用公共交通，我们就可以一起创造更美好的未来！”

The BIBS video 《Making the Future》 focused on the internal connections of today’s major health threats to mankind, and called the young generation to change their lifestyle and make a more sustainable future. The video received total compliments from the juries of British Council.

Script writer Angela Li said, “The excessive consumption of the nature and abuse of fossil fuel have massively destroyed not only the habitat of many wild animals, but also the environment around us. We wish to call for a more environmental-friendly lifestyle, i.e., stop wasting food and use public transportation, so that we can jointly make a better future.”

其实在准备过程中，因为疫情，学校重开网课，孩子们不得不暂停原定拍摄计划，只能在家里与老师同学进行线上交流，拍摄地点也仅限于家里。“虽然需要克服很多意想不到的困难，但在团队合作中不仅锻炼了我们收集素材、视频编辑和团队协作的各种能力，而且还收获了本次活动的中国区冠军。我们特别开心！”手里捧着奖杯的孩子们骄傲地说。

感谢在此次活动中，对孩子们予以指导和支持的各位老师，也感谢英国文化教育协会提供的这次竞赛平台，感谢评委老师对我们此次参赛作品的认可和肯定。正如英国文化教育协会中国区主任包迈岫（Matt Burney）先生在颁奖仪式中所说，“年轻的时候，你有足够的成本去试错并从中学习。这些经历和经验对你日后的生活、学业和职业发展有实际帮助。”青苗的孩子们，趁着年轻，多去奋斗多去尝试吧！我们继续加油！

To prepare the video has not been easy. The shooting had to be on hold due to the second wave of COVID-19, and the team could only communicate online, and take videos at home. “It has been a difficult journey, but we worked as a team overcome all the challenges, and won the China Final. We are very happy!” said our proud little winners.

Thanks go to our teachers who guided and supported our students all along, to British Council for providing this competition opportunity, and to the juries for their approval on our video. Like Mr. Matt Burney said at the awarding ceremony, “Learn from your mistakes when you are young, for these precious experiences will be extremely helpful to your future life, academic and professional career.” So carry on with your adventures BIBSers, while you are still young!
