Many parents may wonder: Why is an assessment required for children as young as kindergarten? What is special about the assessment? In the best  international kindergartens, such as ISA Liwan, an assessment is required as part of the enrollment process.

见标题，不少家长会好奇：为什么在国际幼儿园这么小的孩子也要做入学评估？这个入学评估又有什么独特之处呢？其实几乎所有的国际幼儿园，包括荔湾爱莎国际幼儿园，在入学前都是需要完成相应的评估的。

Early years admission assessments are key to understanding instructional needs as part of an ongoing assessment system for early learning that helps schools to

- Better understand the child's interests and habits to tailor an individualised developmental program for the child.

- Understand the child's mental development and behavioral performance to determine the child's suitability for enrollment.

- To begin the partnership between home and school.

幼儿园入学评估是了解教学需求的关键，作为早期教学持续评估系统的一部分，可以帮助学校：

- 更好地了解孩子的兴趣爱好和生活习惯，为孩子定制个性化的成长方案；

- 了解孩子的心智发展程度和行为表现，以判断孩子是否适合入读；

- 开启良好的家校沟通。

Our induction process, consists of two main components: Observation and Parent Interview.

Observation: The child will participate in our daily lessons and experience the immersive, English learning environment. During the learning and activities, we will closely observe and record your child's interests, curiosity, and reactions.

Parent Interview: After the class, parents will receive a report as professional feedback of their child's experiences from our senior management team. The feedback report and the content of the discussion will play a supporting role in the child's growth and development.

荔湾爱莎国际幼儿园的入学评估主要包括了两个部分：课堂观察与家长面谈。

课堂观察：参与评估的孩子将在老师的带领下参与到我们的日常课堂中来，通过沉浸式的全英学习环境。在学习和活动的过程中，我们会密切观察和记录孩子的兴趣、好奇心和反应等。

家长面谈：在活动结束时，家长会收到一份我们管理团队对于孩子表现的观察报告，还可以与校长或其他教学人员就孩子的情况进行一对一的交流。观察报告和探讨的内容将对孩子的成长、发展起到辅助作用。

Through the Observation and Parental discussion Interview, 

the children are better able to be exposed to new things under inquiry-based learning and to understand what they need to know in the learning process.

Parents can: 

- learn about the child's reaction when entering an unfamiliar environment, meeting new classmates and teachers.；

- learn more about our programme and how well the child will be able to adapt to change; 

- learn how the teachers and school focus on each child's creativity, communication, language, mathematics, physical, personal, and social development from EY1 to EY4.

The Parent Interview and the Assessment & Observation compliment each other. When understanding the feedback report of the child and having a deeper communication with the principal and teaching faculty, parents will have a further understanding of their child's learning, social and performance abilities. At the same time, we can give feedback to parents about their child through the interview and can understand the needs of the family therefore mutually paving the way for the child's successful development.

通过课堂观察和家长面谈：

孩子能够在探究式学习下更好地接触新鲜事物，了解自己在学习的过程中需要知道什么、理解什么、感受什么；

家长可以:

- 了解到当孩子踏入陌生环境、接触不同的同学，老师、接触新知识时的真实反映；

- 了解我们的课程并预知孩子初入学校的适应力；

- 认识从幼儿园小小班再到大班，老师和学校是如何关注每一位孩子的沟通、语言、身体、个人、社交等方面的发展。

而家长面谈和评估、观察则是相辅相成的，当了解完孩子的观察报告并与校长、教辅人员进行深层次的交流时，家长对于孩子学习、社交、表现等能力将会有进一步的认识，对孩子的未来会有一个清晰的画面；同时学校也能通过面谈反馈给家长关于孩子的各项情况，通过了解到家长和孩子的需求，为孩子的全面发展做铺垫。
