Mr. Wu Zijian, the vice President of Shanghai Private Primary and Secondary Schools Association, previously the Head of School of YK Pao School visited Guangzhou ISA Tianhe International School and ISA schools/programmes to exchange teaching philosophy. Ms. Beth, the Principal of Guangzhou ISA Tianhe International School, Ms. Angela Lisle, the Early Year Coordinator, and Mr. Joshua Jacob, the Primary Coordinator, showed Mr. Wu around the school and introduced our educational background, teaching philosophy and curriculum system.

近日，上海市民办中小学协会副会长、原上海包玉刚实验学校校长吴子健先生莅临广州天河爱莎外籍人员子女学校及爱莎各学校和项目进行指导教研。广州天河爱莎外籍人员子女学校幼儿园、小学校长Beth女士、幼儿园协调员Angela Lisle女士及小学协调员Joshua Jacob先生带吴子健校长参观了校园，介绍了学校的办学背景，并就教学理念及课程体系与吴子健校长进行了深度的交流。

Head of School Mr. Wu Zijian 吴子健校长

Mr. Wu is the former President of YK Pao School, the Vice President of Shanghai Private Primary and Secondary Schools Association, Mr. Wu has more than 40 years of educational experience, serves as director of Shanghai nine-year consistent education professional management committee, and special professor of Youth Development Research Center of East China Normal University.

原上海包玉刚实验学校校长，上海市民办中小学协会副会长，拥有40余年教育经验，担任上海市九年一贯制教育专业管理委员会主任，华东师范大学青少年发展研究中心特聘教授。

While visiting the school, Mr. Wu said that ISA Tianhe School is a warm family, he can feel that every corner in ISA Tianhe School is designed especially for the children, the school is full of warmth and love. From the children's smiley faces, he can tell that they are very happy in school。He said it was wonderful to see children so happy and learning at the same time.

在参观校园时，吴子健校长感叹，天河爱莎学校是一个温馨的大家庭，他能感受到天河爱莎学校的一砖一瓦都是为孩子们精心设计的。学校的每一个角落、每一面墙都充满温馨和爱。从孩子们脸上洋溢的笑容，能感受到他们在学校的生活非常快乐，他很开心看到孩子们享受学习的过程。

Head of School Mr. Wu and Principal Ms. Beth had an exchange of ideas about running a school. Mr. Wu agrees with the teaching philosophy of ISA Tianhe. He thinks that the mother tongue program and diversified environment that ISA Tianhe provides will help children to learn and understand different cultures and opinions and become open minded. It fits well with the IB cultivation goal. The differentiated teaching of ISA Tianhe Chinese courses can help children from various countries to integrate into the Chinese environment and understand Chinese culture, which is commendable in international schools.

吴校与Beth校长热烈交流了他们的办学理念。吴校认为，天河爱莎学校为孩子们提供的母语课程，以及尊重各国文化的多元环境，能让远赴他乡的外籍学生们倍感亲切，也能有助于各国孩子们学习和理解不同的文化和观点，成为心胸宽广的人，这与IB的培养目标是十分契合的。与此同时，天河爱莎中文课程的分层教学能帮助各国的孩子融入中国的环境，了解中国的文化，这在国际学校中是难能可贵的。

Mr. Wu observed the Year4 art lesson. In the art lesson, the children were appreciating and learning the famous paintings of Picasso painter and the stories behind them, they were also creating their unique artwork. ISA Tianhe School attaches great importance to holistic education, and the children also shared their plans for the upcoming Lingnan cultural tour and Picasso painting exhibition visit this week.

吴校走访了小学四年级的美术课堂。美术课上，孩子们正在鉴赏和临摹毕加索画家的著名画作并了解背后的故事，他们精心创作着自己独一无二的作品。孩子们向吴校展示了自己的画作，并生动地分享了自己的创作思路。天河爱莎学校重视全人发展，并积极为孩子们提供多样化的学习机会。本周，老师带领着孩子们开展了岭南文化探索及毕加索画展之旅，孩子们都很享受这段奇妙的旅程。

When Mr. Wu observed Year3 class, the children were learning how to make a speech in public. The children took the initiative to share their ideas with Mr. Wu and gave speeches one by one. Principal Wu was surprised by the self-confidence of the children.

当吴校来到小学三年级课堂时，孩子们正在学习如何做演讲。孩子们主动与吴校长分享自己的构思，并逐个进行演讲，孩子们自信的表现让吴校感到非常惊喜。

Mr Wu is interested in Early Year lesson, he visited the EY2 mathematics class with the homeroom teacher. The children were working in small groups, one group was with the teacher and was receiving individualized instruction, others were completing number puzzles, building towers with shapes, matching numbers to solve puzzles, and practicing number formation with the Associate teacher. 

吴校对天河爱莎学校的幼儿园课堂也很感兴趣，他观察了幼儿园小班数学课堂。在数学课上，孩子们分成小组进行学习，当主班老师为其中一组孩子做个性化指导时，另外几组孩子则是进行有趣的巩固数学知识的活动，包括数字拼图、数字匹配题、数字积木或与助教老师做数字练习。

The children confidently presented the English song "You are my sunshine" to Mr. Wu. Mr. Wu followed the rhythm and danced with the children, the children were very excited.

孩子们热情地为吴校献上了英文歌曲“You are my sunshine”，吴校亲切地为孩子们一起随着音乐舞动，孩子们非常兴奋。

Mr. Wu highly recognized ISA Tianhe’s curriculum system and teachers. He said that the teaching mode and curriculum of ISA Tianhe School are a good example of holistic learning, and ISA Tianhe School is qualified as a model of international schools. Mr. Wu warmly invited Ms. Beth to visit YK Pao School. Ms. Beth expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Wu and said she looked forward to more opportunities for exchanges with Mr. Wu in the future.
