在佛山霍利斯，我们的教育并不会只重视传统的学科。我们同样欣赏艺术的价值，认可成为一名伟大的音乐家所需的自信和谦逊，并敬佩戏剧演员在获得成功之前屡败屡战的顽强拼搏精神。

艺术、戏剧和音乐是佛山霍利斯创意艺术的三个支柱学科。通过这三个学科的教育，我们致力于激发学生们的好奇心和创造力，鼓励他们充分探索自己的天赋和爱好，培育未来的创意艺术家。

在艺术学科，我们一起度过了一个好玩有趣、有创意和成功的学年。所有年级组的学生都创作出一些出色的艺术作品，展示了他们丰富的创作才能和热情。

艺术课室和工作室中洋溢着学生们的活力和兴奋。在过去一年，他们探索了不同的艺术专业领域，包括绘画、素描、版画、陶瓷、雕塑和纺织品，并学习和提升了这些领域的艺术技能，尝试了使用不同材料和技巧，学习了基本绘画技法。

除了在网上搜索研究和借鉴国内和国际艺术家的作品，学生们也有去佛山本地的南风古灶和石湾陶瓷博物馆采风，实地考察，观摩和临摹一些本土艺术作品，并以此作为灵感来源，在后来的陶瓷课堂上创作陶瓷雕像。

我们很期待佛山霍利斯艺术学科的未来发展，继续培养和见证学生们成长为有自信和创造力的艺术家和艺术爱好者！

在过去的学年中，我们很高兴看到越来越多的学生加入佛山霍利斯，加入到戏剧课堂，学习和提高他们的戏剧知识和技能。在课堂上，我们一起探讨广泛多样的戏剧主题，从短篇小说的戏剧重演，例如《自私的巨人》，到欺凌问题的研究，到舞台设计元素的探索，例如灯光和布景设计，以及表演风格，例如闹剧和喜剧艺术。

通过课堂，所有年级组的学生都了解到学习表演技巧和戏剧的益处，有些学生还将自己的作品带到舞台，例如九年级学生的《Sparkleshark》戏剧节选，以及六年级和九年级学生在中文学科支持下自己设计短片戏剧庆祝中国新年。

在学年结束之际，我们与英语学科合作举办了莎士比亚周，用夏季学期的最后一周来纪念和学习这位著名戏剧作家的生平和作品。从中，我们也可以看到戏剧与学校其他学科和领域之间的有机联系。让我们一起来期待佛山霍利斯戏剧学科的未来发展吧！

过去一个学年是佛山霍利斯的起步第一年，这一年充实得令人感到兴奋。许多优秀、勤奋且富有天赋的小音乐家们加入了我们学校，在一年内共同开展了多场音乐会。我们现在已经组成了一个弦乐团，这是学校的首个乐团，标志着佛山霍利斯音乐学科发展道路的起点。

在过去一年，佛山霍利斯学生们在艺术作品、音乐表演和戏剧演出方面的进步和成绩都是有目共睹，这证明了他们在创意艺术学科中内在的天赋和潜力。我们期待着他们继续在其他舞台上施展才华，为他们未来的成就送上祝贺！

LEH Foshan is an establishment that recognises education as being more than just the traditional subjects. The school appreciates the value of the arts, acknowledges the confidence and modesty it takes to be a great musician, and admires the tenacity of the budding actor who will endure rejection upon rejection before achieving success.

Art, Drama, and Music are the three pillars of the Creative Arts faculty at LEH Foshan where we aspire to stimulate students’ curiosity and creativity, encourage them to explore their talents and passions and nurture future burgeoning artists. 

Let’s follow the next divs of the article to discover the highlights of each Creative Arts subject over the last school year at LEH Foshan!

The Art department has had a fun, creative and successful first year onsite. Students from all year groups have produced some outstanding artworks and have demonstrated a wealth of talent and enthusiasm.

The art studios have been buzzing with energy and excitement; students have explored different art specialisms including painting, drawing, printmaking, ceramics, sculpture and textiles and within those specialisms they have developed skills in, and experimented with, many materials and techniques and learned fundamental drawing and painting.  

In addition to researching national and international artists online, students got to experience first-hand, seeing and drawing from local artworks when they visited the Nanfeng Kiln and Shiwan Ceramics Museum. In response to their research students designed and made their own ceramic sculptures. 

We are very excited about the future of art at LEH Foshan as we nurture and see our students grow and blossom into confident, creative artists and art lovers. 

It has been wonderful to see the growing number of students we have coming to LEH Foshan developing their drama skills over the last year. In lessons, our topics and themes have been wide and varied: from re-enactments of short stories, such as The Selfish Giant, and investigations into issues such as bullying, through to explorations of design elements, such as lighting and set design, and performance styles such as Slap Stick Comedy and Commedia dell’Arte. 

All students are beginning to find a greater appreciation of performance skills and the benefits of studying drama. We have had our own student performances too: year 9 sharing an extract from Sparkleshark, and year 6 and 9 devising their own dramas with the support of the Chinese Department to celebrate Chinese New Year.

Our first year culminates in a collaboration with the English department to produce Shakespeare week. The celebration of this famous playwright during the last week of the summer term is an opportunity to see how drama links across subjects and in all areas of the school, and it rounds off just the beginning of an exciting future for LEH Foshan Drama Department.

This has been a very exciting and fulfilling first year on campus at LEH Foshan. The school has attracted many fine, hardworking and gifted young musicians, and many concerts have been taken place by the end of this academic year. We now have a String Ensemble, the first group music making here at LEH Foshan. This marks the beginning of a long and exciting musical journey. 

The seed of my vision of creating a dynamic and vibrant Music Department where there is a place for all students, whether beginners in Music or Music Scholars, is now in place, and I look forward to the day when LEH Foshan can be proud of its Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Ensembles, Prep School and Senior School Choirs, a Jazz Group and Big Band, and student-run Rock Groups. 

I am immensely proud of our many musical students, and of what has been achieved in Music at LEH Foshan in this past year. Forwards and upwards!

LEH Foshan students’ artworks, music performances and short plays over the last year have proven their inner talents and potential in Creative Arts. We are looking forwards to seeing the very best of them shining on any stage and celebrating their future progress.
