2023年3月8日下午，香港教育局长蔡若莲博士到访广州暨大港澳子弟学校（ASJ），与暨南大学校长宋献中教授、暨南大学港澳子弟学校理事长邓强光先生等共同畅谈大湾区基础教育的发展，互相砥砺，促进创新，携手并进。我校总校长郑景亮先生主持座谈交流。

On the afternoon of 8 March 2023, Dr Choi Yuk-lin, JP, Secretary for Education in Hong Kong, visited ASJ to discuss the development of basic education in the Greater Bay Area with Professor Song Xianzhong, President of Jinan University, and Mr. Lucas Deng, Executive Director of ASJ School Board. Mr. Cheng King Leung, Chief Principal of ASJ, hosted the discussion and exchange meeting.

在热心的学生志愿者的指引下，蔡若莲博士一行了解了我校校徽校训的内涵和故事，欣赏了小学同学们精彩的朗诵表演，观摩了机器人编程课堂、舞蹈课堂，参观了校园景观。在参观过程中，蔡若莲博士也亲切地跟同学们合影，给同学们“点赞”。

Guided by enthusiastic student volunteers, Dr Choi and her entourage learned about the connotation and story of our school emblem and motto. She enjoyed an excellent recitation performance by the primary school students, observed a robot programming class, a dance class, and toured the campus. During the tour, Dr Choi took photos with our students, giving them high recognition.

在座谈交流环节，蔡若莲博士认真地听取了郑景亮总校长关于港澳子弟学校办学情况的介绍，亲切地与港籍师生交谈，主动地问询同学们在港澳子弟学校学习和生活的情况，四位同学代表依次表达了他们真切的感受，同时，同学们和老师们也向蔡若莲博士提出了他们关心的问题以及目前遇到的困难，蔡若莲博士一一认真地给予了解答和回应。最后，蔡若莲博士表示，希望港澳子弟学校做出特色，粤港两地学校加强文化交流，共同推进大湾区基础教育融合发展。

During the meeting, Dr Choi listened attentively to Mr. Cheng's presentation on ASJ operation. She talked cordially with our Hong Kong students and teachers and asked them about studies and life in ASJ. The four representatives of ASJ students expressed their sincere feelings in turn, while the students and teachers also raised their concerns and difficulties with Dr Choi, who answered and responded carefully to each of them. Finally, Dr Choi hoped that ASJ would develop its special feature and that schools in Guangdong and Hong Kong would strengthen cultural exchanges and jointly promote the integrated development of basic education in the Greater Bay Area.

宋献中校长代表暨南大学及港澳子弟学校首先向蔡若莲博士致以节日的问候和诚挚的感谢，他认为“暨大本色”已经深深融入到了港澳子弟学校的校园氛围当中，他希望未来在《粤港澳大湾区发展规划纲要》的指引下，粤港两地能够就一些具体问题进行深入地磋商，更好地服务于师生和大湾区基础教育的发展。

On behalf of Jinan University and ASJ, Mr. Song extended greetings and sincere thanks to Dr Choi, saying that "the Tradition of Jinan University" has been deeply integrated into the campus atmosphere of ASJ. He hoped that under the guidance of the Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Guangdong and Hong Kong could conduct in-depth discussions on specific issues to better serve teachers and students and the development of basic education in the GBA.

香港教育局、广东省教育厅、广州市教育局、暨南大学、广东教育出版社、暨南大学港澳子弟学校等相关单位负责人齐聚一堂，与蔡若莲博士进行愉快的交流，会议在一片热烈的掌声中结束，蔡若莲博士前往下一个目的地继续她今天的行程。

Relevant officials from the Hong Kong Education Bureau, Guangdong Education Department, Guangzhou Education Bureau, Jinan University, Guangdong Education Press and ASJ gathered for a pleasant exchange with Dr Choi. The meeting ended with a round of applause and Dr Choi headed to her next destination.
