AIC特色课堂 | 戏剧不止于剧院里!

如果你上星期二在南沙出去走走,你会看到一个激动人心的奇观。我们AIC, IGCSE 1戏剧学生在万达广场上演了一幕行走剧院。这个主题是关于利用不同的空间,使用原创和创造性的戏剧来体验和拓宽视野, 同时也是学生们在小空间戏剧方面的巅峰之作。

 

If you were out and about in Nansha on Tuesday this week, you would have seen an exciting spectacle. Our IGCSE Yr 1 drama students were at Wanda Plaza for some walkabout theatre.

It is the culmination of their work on small space drama.  The topic is all about using different spaces to experiment and broaden horizons with original and creative drama.

在去年, PDP3的学生也完成了相同的主题。AIC的戏剧老师Nicola Howard 说:“这是我最喜欢教的单元之一。在早期课程中,我们使用学校的橱柜、校园角落和户外区域来做训练,这让我回想起小时候的游戏。毕竟这是戏剧的本质, 当你还是个孩子的时候,你所需要的就是你的想象力。”

 

Drama teacher Nicola Howard explains that she covered the same topic last year with PDP3. "It is one of my favourite units to teach", she said. "Some of the early sessions where we use cupboards and corners and the outdoors areas of school take me back to playing as a child, which is, after all, the essence of drama. When you are a child, all you need is your imagination".

该主题的最后一课是关于特定地点的表演。学生们查看了学校周围可以表演的不同地点例如:  学校的电梯、走廊、楼梯间和食堂,  但最终还是决定去万达广场,  以获得更大程度的发挥空间。

 

The last lesson in the topic is all about site-specific performance, and we looked at various locations around the school where we could perform.  Students investigated using the lift, the corridors, the stairwells and the cafeteria.  Finally, though, they decided to go to Wanda Plaza for a greater degree of anonymity.

 

每个学生都需利用学校道具室里的各种物品制作一套表演服装。Nicola 说:“我鼓励学生们重新发现装扮的乐趣,他们可以从随机选择的物品中做出一个整体服装造型,并陶醉于奇特和与众不同的创意里。”

 

Each of the students created a costume using assorted items from the drama store. "I encouraged them to rediscover the joy of dressing up when you can make an ensemble from a random selection of items and revel in the bizarre and the incongruous", said Nicola.


准备好装扮,确定好时间,就发生了文章开始的那一幕。路上行人的反应很有趣:有些人乐于参与,而有一些人则抗拒任何互动。


With costumes ready, the students just had to fix a time to go out and meet the public.  It was interesting to see how people reacted: some were happy to engage, while others were eager to avoid any interaction.

这个学习单元启发我们一个道理——戏剧每时每刻都发生在我们身边。Amber Hu 称这次经历为“戏剧不止于剧院里”。

The unit of study reminds us that drama is happening all around us all of the time.  Amber Hu called the experience "drama not in theatre".

学生们被问到如果他们再做一次,他们会做些什么不同的事情。Ivy说她会尽量穿得更像小丑,Laura说她会穿更暖和的;毕竟,南沙的十一月会很冷!

The students were asked what they would do differently if they did it again.  Ivy said she would try to dress more like a clown, and Laura said she would wear something warmer; after all, November in Nansha can be pretty chilly!




此次的行走剧院表演, 是对戏剧课学生们的一项挑战, 除了需要学生发挥创意、想象力的同时, 也需要学生们克服害羞, 建立自信心。通过这种沉浸式的表演, 不仅可以提高学生们的心理素质,  也给学生们带来了不一样的人生体验。


This walkabout theatre was a challenge for the drama students. In addition to being creative and imaginative, they also need to overcome their shyness and build confidence. The immersive performance undoubtedly brings students a different experiment.
