处暑远去，炎夏渐消，新学年如约而至。IB学子们再度踏入博雅校园，熟悉的上课铃声再次回响耳畔，伴随着秋天的脚步，成长，悄然而至。

在刚过去的暑期里，广州外国语学校二期建设逐步交付使用，校园环境焕然一新。

走进校园，花草、乔灌木高低俯仰、错落有致，亭台楼阁布局合理，相互辉映，清新雅致。园林式校园体现了自然的生态美、景观的内涵美和文化的特色美。优美雅致的校园环境，激发师生们在新学期对美好生活的渴望和追求。

新学期开始前两周，广州外国语学校爱莎文华IB课程教师团队以到位为新学期做好准备。

为了更好地迎接同学返校，提高教师团队与职能人员的工作能力，构建高效的工作系统，共建更团结的爱莎社区，爱莎国际教育集团在8月中下旬举办了爱莎国际教育集团专业学习大会。

为丰富学校师资力量，广州外国语学校爱莎文华IB课程特邀请更多的优秀教师将加入到IB学习者大家庭中，致力培养同学们称为具有“中国灵魂·世界眼光”的终生学习者。

九月的第一缕阳光洒进校园，新学期正式开始。锣鼓声起，狮舞龙腾。鼓乐队、舞龙队、舞狮队齐齐来助阵，与凤凰学子们一起迎接朝气蓬发的新学期。

广州外国语学校党总支书记林伟洪以《乘湾区发展东风 担筑梦育人使命》为题，寄语广州外校人，开展开学第一课。其中提到： 学校乘发展东风，在机遇与挑战中发展；教师具备责任担当，专注在专业与技术上提升；同学们积极锻造品质，在自强与自主中成才。

随后，在广州外校爱莎文华IB课程开学典礼中，课程校长霍剑华先生及执行校长Mr. LeeSanders向同学们表达了新学期的期望和寄语。

I’d like to take this opportunity to share three tips with our student body:

    Tip 1: Please do your best to improve your level of English proficiency. In terms of the language policy, your level of English plays a fundamental role in your IB study, and your study in the university as well. 

    Tip 2: Please take full responsibility for your won study. Independence and self-reliance are significantly important for you to accomplish your study of the IB and your study in the university. 

    Tip 3: Please take the initiative in the extra-curricular activities. To get yourselves well-prepared for the higher education in the university, apart from academic excellence, you need to apply what you have learned to solving real problems, and you need to develop your skills of leadership, communication, and collaboration.

There is another type of door that we will all encounter throughout our lives: a door of opportunity. Doors of opportunity might include:

    - starting a new school year;

    - getting the chance to try a new sport skill or activity;

    - meeting new people and making new friends;

    -Finding a new path to your future by applying to university.

Each new opportunity is like a door. We can choose to keep the door shut and not walk forward through it; we can choose not to take the opportunity given to us. Alternatively, we can say yes to the opportunity. Saying yes is like opening a door and passing through to experience whatever the new opportunity has to offer.
