为满足广大意向家庭的热切需求,佛山市霍利斯外籍人员子女学校将于2023年2月2日开设3年级(面向7岁学生),并于同年8月开设2年级(面向6岁学生)。

全英教学

发掘学生的激情和潜能


坐落于大湾区核心位置,佛山市霍利斯外籍人员子女学校于2021年9月正式开学,是一所卓越的英式国际学校,提供纯正英式课程,为6-18岁(2-13年级)的走读及寄宿生们提供他们成长所需要的空间、设施和专业教学。



佛山霍利斯为严格挑选出来的学生提供全英教学(中文及其他语言科目除外),教育旨在培养学生积极良好的学习心态,鼓励学生独立思考,发展创造性思维,是一所充满机遇、挑战和友谊,发掘学生的激情和潜能,孕育卓越的年轻一代的学校。 


学院制度是英式学校最独特的地方之一。学院是学校的子单元,每个学生在入学时都会被分配到一个学院。学院制度的主要目的是提供成长关怀和培养社区归属感,以及鼓励良性竞争,并从中发展团队精神和合作意识。 



在佛山霍利斯,四个学院分别分布在四座学生公寓中。学生公寓为寄宿学生提供住宿的同时,也为所有学生提供一系列学习和社交设施。 



学院制度涵盖各类学科及课外活动,包括体育、艺术及各种跨学科活动。通过良性竞争帮助学生更好地投入学习,并锻炼他们的社交能力。通常情况下,积极参加学院活动的学生也更能够全身心地投入到学习当中。在整个学年中,学生会参加许多学院活动,包括学院集会、学院运动会、辩论赛和拼写比赛。高年级组的学生也有机会申请担任学院队长,培养自己的领导力和责任感。 



Jane Arden是佛山霍利斯的校长,深耕教育行业近30年,所任职的学校在她的带领下取得斐然的IGCSE和A Level学术成绩,担任过英国AQA考试局英文学科助理首席考官近20年。


在英语学习方面,学生们能够学习由校长Jane Arden精心设计的英语语言学习课程(ELL)并获得校内语言学习支持教师团队的帮助,从阅读、写作、口语和听力四大方面综合提高英语水平,从而能够更加充分参与学校的英式课程。 



资深全英籍核心教师团队是预备部的一大亮点。预备部主任Mandy Bateman毕业于英国剑桥大学,在英国本土学校以及葡萄牙和埃及的国际学校有30年的工作经验。预备部主班老师也均来自英国,并都曾在中国担任低年级教师职责,拥有丰富的任教经验。此外,该校母语为英语的教学团队均从世界一流学校招募而来,他们让课堂成熟完备、充满活力。大部分教职工拥有教育硕士或博士学位,90%英籍教师,平均教学经验达15年以上。


通过小班教学,学生可以从高度个性化的教学方法中受益。每一位教师都充分了解各自学生的特长和需要面对的挑战。教师拥有个性化教学所需的支持和资源,确保每一位学生发挥最大潜能。




必修ECA项目

培养学生终身学习的兴趣



在佛山霍利斯,所有的课程教学、生活关怀和课外活动都旨在培养学生获得成功所需的技能,知识和特质。6-10岁的学生将会加入预备学校,采取小班方式进行全英文教学(除中文和其他外语课外),由主班老师教授英文、数学、科学、历史和地理等科目。在这阶段,班主任将会发挥重要的支持角色,密切关注学生的学术进步、个人成长和社交发展。



其中,ECA(课外活动课)项目是必修课程之一,学校在周一至周五每天都会提供ECA课程,并每个学期更换ECA项目,给与同学们多元化的选择。 


佛山霍利斯的ECA项目的目标是帮助学生们成为充满自信且拥有多元技能的年轻人,激励他们进一步发展自己的兴趣和爱好,养成积极健康的生活方式。在ECA项目中,学生们将会培养自己的自信心、独立性、主动性、创造性和领导力,并有定期的个人和团队机会展示自己的才华。 



这是因为我们坚信,培养学生们积极和健康的生活方式对他们的身心健康和社交发展非常关键。”学校相关负责人介绍,ECA项目对学生成长的帮助不只是局限在校内。学生们在课外活动中展现的兴趣和爱好可以帮助他们在申请大学时脱颖而出,以及培养和发展可转移职业技能,甚至获得相关的实践经验,为自己的简历增添亮点,提升自己未来的职业前景。

佛山霍利斯评审委员会将审阅和评估学生的申请材料及面试表现,并于五个工作日内通知家长录取情况。

家长将收到学校发送的信函,明确告知校方决定:确认录取、拟录取、进入候补名单或不录取。

In response to the high demand from the wider community, it is with great excitement to announce that LEH International School Foshan will open Year 3 (for students aged 7) on 2nd February 2023, extending its excellent British education to younger students. Year 2 (for students aged 6) will open in August 2023.

LEH Foshan

Nurturing remarkable young people


Lady Eleanor Holles International School Foshan, an exceptional British curriculum day and boarding school, welcomed its first students in September 2021. Mrs Jane Arden, Headteacher of LEH Foshan, has nearly 30 years in education. She spent four years as Head of Academics and English at Wellington College International. She has led schools to achieve outstanding IGCSE and A level results. Jane Arden has also worked as Assistant Principal examiner for AQA English language. Training and mentoring teachers is key for Jane in creating schools fit for the 21st century. 


Students will benefit from the English Language Learning (ELL) Programme carefully designed by the Headteacher Mrs Jane Arden and with support from the in-house English Language Acquisition team, this helps develop their holistic language skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening. This allows them to fully engage in the school’s British Curriculum.   



Ms Bateman has nearly 30 years of experience as an educator and leader in both British and international schools in the UK, Portugal, and Egypt. 


Our native-English-speaking teaching staff are recruited from leading schools around the world, and bring maturity and dynamism to the classroom. Most hold Masters or PhDs in Education and have, on average, 15+ years of teaching experience.


With smaller class sizes, our students benefit from a highly individualised teaching approach, where each teacher has a firm knowledge of his or her student’s strengths and challenges. Our teachers have the support and resources they need to personalise their teaching to ensure that each student achieves their personal best.




ECA Programme

Develop life-long interests



In the Prep School, the curriculum offers our students a wide range of learning experiences taught by our class teachers as well as subject specialists in Science, Computing, Spanish, Mandarin, PE and Music. Class Teachers play a key role in supporting each student and closely monitor academic, personal and social development.  


ECAs at LEH Foshan are mandatory. We offer ECAs from Monday to Friday including a wide range of activities and we change them termly. 


The overarching ethos of the ECA programme at LEH Foshan is to support students to develop into young adults that have the confidence and skills to further pursue activities they enjoy as part of an active, healthy lifestyle. It is also designed to encourage confidence, independence, initiative, creativity, and leadership and provide regular opportunities for individual and team performance. 



We believe developing an active, healthy lifestyle is key to supporting physical, social and emotional health and wellbeing. Our ECA programme can help students reach far beyond the campus. The interests and passions that students develop through these activities will enable them to stand out when they apply to university. ECAs also allows students to develop transferable skills, earn career experience and build their resume, increasing students’ career prospects. 



“We believe in giving students an education where excellent exam results are a by-product of that education, rather than being the central focus. We look for students with an intellectual curiosity and a love of learning which we aim to foster throughout their time at LEH Foshan. We realise that motivating students comes from the appropriate level of challenge being given in their learning. 


Our role as educators is to develop a lifelong love of learning. As a result, teachers aim to develop the students' ownership of their own learning. Students are encouraged to discover things for themselves, rather than simply being “spoon fed” to pass an examination. Our aim is to create a learning environment in all classes where students are ready to respond to questions even when they do not know the answer and are prepared to take risks in their learning. ”  Ms Morgan (Head of Sport and Activities) said.




The Admissions Process

Submit an Application 

Contact the admissions team and submit an application online or soft copy, including all the supporting documents. An Application Fee of CNY 2,000 is required.

The Admissions Team will arrange an assessment and interview with the Headteacher.

Decision 

Applications are processed by the LEH Review Committee. Assessment results are reviewed along with the provided documentation. Parents are informed of the decision within five working days.

Offer

Parents will receive, by email, either:  

i) an offer of a place; 

ii) a conditional offer;

iii) a waitlist offer or,

iv) a decline.  


The email will clearly explain the next steps for each category.

School Tour

Our campus is open on Saturdays for half day for those busy parents who have time for a school visit only on weekends. Our Admissions Staff is available from 9:00 to 13:00. These Drop-in Sessions are limited, so we encourage interested parents to make a reservation as soon as possible.
