Sias International School of Zhengdong New District, Zhengzhou (Sias IS) is the first international school in Henan Province. Following the guidance of the mission statement, Sias IS aims to provide a balanced education system which creatively fuses the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program with Common Core State Standards(CCSS). It also contains an outstanding Chinese program, Mother Tongue program and Co-curricular program, creating a high-quality, creative, comprehensive and bilingual education model.

The International Baccalaureate (IB) is a curriculum framework available around the world for students from 3-19 years of age. It is taught in state, private, national and international schools spanning 147 countries around the world. The IB Programs encourage students to be independent thinkers and lifelong learners. Creativity is fostered in all areas of the curriculum, including academic, sporting and artistic disciplines.

The Common Core is a set of high-quality academic standards in mathematics and English language arts/literacy (ELA). These learning goals outline what a student should know and be able to do at the end of each grade. The standards were created to ensure that all students graduate from high school with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in college, career, and life, regardless of where they live.

All the students study Chinese at Sias IS, not only learning the Chinese language but also the Chinese culture through the IB inquiry-based format.
